Trigger Warning
It would probably be better to place them against armies of a time period reflective of ASOIAF. Cavalry of Alexander's day and the medieval cavalry that Daemon represents are too far removed from each other for a good discussion.

James Steller
Alexander vs Robar Royce? Alexander and the Companion Cavalry win. Stannis vs. Lysander? Stannis is triumphant. Victarion vs Ivar the Boneless? A bloody draw. Khal Drogo vs Genghis Khan? Khan emerges victorious. Robert the Bruce vs. Robb Stark? Greywind tears the Bruce out of his saddle and mauls him while his army is broken by the King in the North.
Byfort of Corfe
No way Robb beats Robert the Bruce. Robb's cavalry would have no chance against the Scots schiltrons. And if Robb challenged Robert to one on one combat, well, Robert would eat Robb's lunch, spank him, take his lunch money and then send Robb's body back to Catelyn. Walda
Actually, I'd go Alexander v Daenarys - the battle of Mereen seems eerily similar to the battle of Issus, and they share some key geograpical features.Astapor = Alexandretta,Yunkai = Mallus (although it on the opposite side of the bay, near the Syrian Gates, so maybe Tolos = Mallus, but from the troop movements, I doubt it. ) Even with three dragons, my money would be on Alexander. ETA: In fact, in all cases, I would bet on the historical figure. As Byfort of Corfe said, no way Robb beats the Bruce.Gengis, Ivar, and Lysander had numbers, proper arms, and battle hardened troops on their side. And The most decisive factor is numbers - overwhelming force usually decides the war, if not the battle. Also, these are all carefully thought out attacks, often on defenceless civilians in the case of the first two, and even Lysander waited until he had superiority and forced the Atheneins to chase after him to his preferred theatre before smashing them. Sir Lee knot
1. ASOIAF curb stomps. Full plated armored Knights vs Bronze age cavalry. Alexander might be a smart commander but we are comparing a Sherman to an Abrams. 2. ASOIAF stomps again. The superior technology make the Bronze age technology look like a joke. 3. They both win 5/10 times. The equipment is virtually the same. Perhaps the Iron Born have an advantage though because they have some access to plate while the Vikings don't. 4. Mongols win 10/10. They have mixed units which allows them to be more flexible with tactics but most importantly their armor makes it a stomp. 5. I don't know enough about Robert the Bruce to judge. I think we're supposed to assume that the armies are all equal in number.

Seriously though I don't see why the scheltron as well drilled as Robert had them means a guaranteed defeat for Robb's forces, it could go either way if Robb's cavalry can disperse the phalanx's supporting cavalry, archers etc. Though I'd bet on the Bruce. Lointain
An army of cavalry led by Alexander the Great vs an army of cavalry led by Daemon Blackfyre on a flat plain. An army of Dothraki led by Khal Drogo vs an army of Mongols led by Genghis Khan. Robert the Bruce and his Scots vs Robb Stark and his Northmen in a hilly countryside unfamiliar to them both. Daemon Blackfyre: stirrups, better armor and weapons. Even the near-divine tactical prowess of Alexander would do little against an late medieval european type heavy chivalry enemy. Lysander: The trieres, very nimble, lightweight, two rudders (tricky to maneuver, but capable of turning very quickly, if controled by experienced men) and without sails for the combat, can have some edge ove the heavier and clumsy ships of the Royal Navy, sinking the enemy ships, without them being able to maneuver effectively against the trieres. But if Stannis can board the ships, oh well... the hoplites cannot do much! Victarion would eat them at the breakfeast... alone! (smoking arm... :D). The Mongols would need 60 minutes to defeat the Dothraki: 59 laughing like madmen when they see the Dothraki, and 1 minute to smash that half naked savages. Bruce and Robb= BFF. Also, the Northerners seem more well prepared and equiped and they have a giant wolf at their side...
