Illogical events in both show and books.

But could he not have achieved the same with 2 eggs and give 1 to (f)Aegon? He didn't know they would hatch but giving an egg to (f)Aegon would mean he had something more than just Targ like features.

We don't know if Illyrio has not three other eggs for Aegon. With Storm's End taken, it's something we should learn in the beginning of TWOW.

They don't prove anything though they're just eggs anybody could buy them with enough gold

On their own no, but combined with the Targ features it may strengthen his claim. I'm not saying it a magic definitely a Targ bullet type thing, but Varys and Illyrio are intelligent people, they must realize how hard it will be to persuade people that this is Rheagars supposedly murdered son. Anything they could use surely they would.

Even better, but the more things they can present the easier their job. They could have bought him forward saying ' Look at his Targaryn features, he bares the ancestral Targaryn blade and has the dragon egg presented to him at birth, as all Targaryn children have.

Because she has amazing telekinetic powers and knew that Roose was going to betray and kill her brother in the next book?

Or because the Boltons have a fearsome reputation for flaying people and have rebelled against the Stark's in the past?

Did they still get eggs when aegon or even Rhaegar was born i thought that was an earlier targ thing and they didn't have eggs to give out after the dragons died out.

Truth is I don't know, we know in Dunk and Egg that Egg was given an egg but that was 80 years before (I think) I wouldn't be supprised if as long as there were dragon eggs around the Targs kept up the tradition.

Not buying it. The Boltons were Stark bannermaen and the last time they rebelled against the Starks was what a hundred years ago? Two hundred years ago?  More than 200 years ago?  She didn't identify herself for plot reasons, which honestly i don't really have a problem with at all.

I thought they lost them at summerhall after it burned down when whatever sorcery they tried failed big time but they could have still had them and been giving them to kids.

Plus why not reveal herself to Robett Glover who was also there and she recognizes him and Vargo Hoat also point's him out.

Viserys didn't get any, so surely neither did Aegon.

Did Viserys not get one or leave it when they fled? I don't know. I've thought since (f)Aegon was introduced that he was the preferred candidate as it were and I just wonder why they would miss any way to bring people to their cause. Even if they used it for the smallfolk who may have heard of Dragons eggs but not realize that the practice had stopped, if it had

They've still got the flayed men on their banners. Roose himself is a pretty creepy guy. And Old Nan would have told all the Stark kids the tales. It's completely believable to me.

It only happened for plot reasons. She knew the Boltons were fighting her brother's war. They just put down the Lannisters who were trying to capture her. She had no logical reason to not scream out that she was Arya Stark. From everything she knew the most logical outcome should be that her brother's bannerman, who just won a significant victory for him, should be sending a small escort to Riverrun to reunite her with her mother to get himself more glory.

The only reason she didn't was because of plot armor to keep her going on her quest and to not get her tangled up in the red wedding. That's really it. And at the time she had no reason to think that. Also at the time Roose was highly unlikely to be in cahoots with Tywin or Frey because Blackwater didn't happen yet and news of Robb's Wedding and Jamie's escape didn't reach him yet.

It just gets a pass because we know that later on that illogical decision was the best thing for her. It was pure plot armor.

Well of course it happened to service the plot, but I just don't think it's unrealistic for Arya to not reveal herself. You're looking at things from an entirely rational perspective, rather than the perspective of a ten year old girl who just knows that this guy is really creepy and his family used to flay her family (and still has a flayed man on his banner). certainly wouldn't reveal myself to Bolton in her position.

EDIT: Really this thread is just a very transparent and poor attempt to flip the tables on book purists and act like the books have just as much plot holes as the show. And they're not perfect - gender changing horses and all that. But for the most part the books hold together, which cannot be said for the show.
