Mr. Chatywin et al.
Honor system works in my book, especially since you have to keep track of all this shit. And of course I aggressively dropped the surprise player of week 1.....

Yeah, nothing really has changed between last night and tonight regarding his players anyway so I don't see why anyone would care.
grozeng
well, there are rumors of Ertz to the Cowboys here in Philly, so at $6 he would be worth 4 years now if that were to happen.
BLU-RAY
I could probably try to get away with this, but I don’t think it’s allowed so I will bring it up and confirm that... Say I have a player, Player A. I drafted him this year and signed him to a contract for 3 years. During the season (say, Week 4) I drop him; and in Week 7, I pick him up again. At the end of the season, can I keep him on that original contract, or is he cut and gone? I assume the latter, but since I suspect I’m the only one who’d notice, I figured I would try to be honest and raise it.
Bronn Stone
No. And in my experience, Groz is pretty good about marking a player as dropped in his records any time they hit the waiver wire. He does more than just check the rosters at the end of the season.
BLU-RAY
Props to him, then because I feel like there’s a reasonable chance I would’ve forgotten by the end of the season, and it’s my player! I guess one could scan the “Transactions” section for it? So long Justin Jackson, we hardly knew ye. (As mentioned, I think not getting to keep him is correct, but was worth checking on)
Mr. Chatywin et al.
My opinion has always been around intent. If you accidentally dropped a player you had under contract, you should be able to pick them back up, no harm, no foul, even if it's a week or two later. But you shouldn't be able to intentionally drop a contract player without eating the fines, even if you resign them.

I was doing a slow form auction draft and accidentally fat fingered a bid. I posted right away in our GroupMe and let them know what I meant to bid and the commish reset the bidding for that player and allowed me to place the bid I meant to. If I had waited two hours, he wouldn't have done so and I am fine with that.
Bronn Stone
Accidental drops are fine if notification happens immediately. Not otherwise.

briantw
Trying to make sense of my roster. From what I can tell, it looks like this... QB Kyler Murray - $15 - 2 years remaining QB Sam Darnold - $12 - 2 years remaining RB Nick Chubb - $12 - 1 year remaining RB D'Andre Swift - $9 - 3 years remaining RB Aaron Jones - $1 - 1 year remaining RB Miles Sanders - $27 - 2 years remaining RB Leonard Fournette - $5 - 1 year remaining RB Joshua Kelley - $2 - 3 years remaining WR DK Metcalf - $3 - 2 years remaining WR Chris Godwin - $1 - 1 year remaining WR Diontae Johnson - $5 - 3 years remaining WR Bryan Edwards - $1 - 3 years remaining WR Jalen Reagor - $5 - 2 years remaining TE TJ Hockenson - $5 - 2 years remaining --- Dead Cap: RB Derrius Guice - $4 - 1 year remaining RB Royce Freeman - $6 - 1 year remaining RB Darrell Henderson - $1 - 2 years remaining WR N'Keal Harry - $1 - 2 years remaining TE David Njoku - $2 - 1 year remaining That's obviously not counting any guys I cut this year, and there will be a couple. I think I did the math right on all those dead cap hits. Finally getting out of those Guice and Freeman contracts this year too! Guys I'm considering cutting this year include Sam Darnold, Lombardi Lenny, Josh Kelley, and Jalen Reagor in case anyone wants to strike up a deal and take a flyer on one of them.
