But the Wizards signed Mike Scott, Jodie Meeks and will probably bring back a way overpaid Otto Porter (who signed a max offer sheet from the Nets - apparently he's the darling of all the worst teams in the NBA) while we lose the Polish Hammer so glad to see we're keeping pace.

We're losing Gortat?  Since when?  Did he already sign somewhere?

Hasn't happened yet but my understanding is to be able to fit Porter's contract in, they probably will need to move Gortat (in part because they can't move Mahimni). He was already preemptively bitter about this at season's end and I think he's right to feel under-appreciated. He does so  many subtle things for the offense between his passing and his picks and his rebounding.

Agreed. Seeing the big goofy Pole in another uniform would wound me deeply.

Eh, they converted Matt Barnes. Just so long as they keep Iggy Azalea away from the locker room. That broad be Fancy.

And hey, I appreciate this "get the 2010 Wizards rings" campaign the Warriors have going on. Livingston, McGee and now Young. If you bring Andray Blatche back from China, I know we're being trolled.

Just paying you back for stealing away Agent Zero, Antawn Jamison and Larry Hughes back in the day. ;)

I think we won player trade-off. :P

OTOH, we chose to trade for Randy Foye instead of drafting Steph Curry. And drafted Jan Vesely instead of Klay Thompson. So never forget this fact - you couldn't have built this team without the Wizards.

Going to drink bleach now.

Not sure if this truly works or not, but it came to mind in any case.

Glad to see Waiters stay with the Heat. I think he is the Most Irrational Confidence Guy in the NBA currently. And, I love those guys, especially when he'll be one of their top players. Heat are only a player or two away from being a very good team again.

Sad to see Bosh retire. But, also glad that he will live and his problem was found early and didn't die on the court.

I like Hayward to the Celtics, great fit and might give the Cavs a run for their money if the Cavs don't add anyone significant to the roster. I want them to find a way to keep Live and get Anthony. As I said before, I think he would be a totally different player than Me lo has been over his career. Honestly, I just don't see it happening. Supposely, the guy in charge of the Knicks at the moment is on very good terms with Anthony and might convince him to stay and add a piece or two next year. We'll see, but damn, the Cavs have done absolutely jack shit so far to improve their team. And, I know that its is kissing LeBron off to no end. He is probably furious. Hell, is love to see them make a play for Crawford. I know Crawford wants to go to L.A., but wouldn't a ring be something he would consider going to the Cavs for? Not, much at all as in adding defense, nor is Anthony. But, the man is instant offense. They could trade J.R. to the Hawks for Crawford. I do that in a heartbeat. Then, I don't know who's out there, but a defensive specialist to help with Durant and I think that puts the Cavs in a better situation. There's options out there, it just seems that the only one they're exploring is Anthony.

Would it wound you more than having Scott Brooks read the Necronomicon incorrectly?

He got the first full season out of the zombie so I don't think we have to worry about that.

Why would the Hawks do that, though?  I love JR, but there aren't many other teams that would want him.  He could be a distraction on a bad team, whereas in Cleveland he's going to continue to be a good role-player.

Hayward to me is like a poor man's Durant in that he takes nothing off the table, is pretty good at everything, and should fit in with the Celtics (or really any team) with ease. Absolute no brainer for them in a way that ball dominant guys like Butler/George wouldn't be. Should help take some of the scoring load off IT and help perimeter defense against larger wings. In my view, turns the Celtics offseason around from kinda a failure to a definite success. If Tatum is as good as Danny Ainge seems to think he is, could see them threatening Cleveland.

Hard to believe this is the scenario. It's unfortunate for them that the Nets and Kings desperately wanted to sign Otto Porter to a max deal but if it means losing your only decent front court player I wouldn't do it.

As for Hayward, I really like him as well, and a great asset to the Celtics. I would say now is the time for the Celtics to try and get even better. There are rumors that the Grizzlies want to go into full rebuild mode and trade Marc Gasol.

Do you give up next year's Nets pick for Gasol? The Nets are still going to be top 3 level shit next year you'd think, but there's a LOT of teams tanking in the East. Still, as I am perusing that Nets roster, Russell is the only promising player in a roster of below par mediocrity, it could well be another no.1 pick.

Heat are looking at Rudy Gay as a Hayward replacement. Not too bad if they can add him, they'd be better than last season, in theory.

I don't understand how they would get Gasol. They are already having to dump salary to make room for Gordon Hayward. I also don't get the fit. He and Horford can't play at the same time.

That's true, they don't have the room. The Celtics were suggested as a possible destination but it's probably not happening. Maybe they could offload Horford, I'd much rather have Gasol.

That Horford contract is an abortion. On a related note, it's sad watching the fall of Bill Simmons. On the one hand, it takes a certain amount of ego and self-delusion to launch yourself from essentially an internet blogger to one of the 2-3 best known sports media personalities in the world, but man is he insufferable now.

Errrrrr, homeboy is the head of a growing media platform, and kicking ass without ESPN. His interviews with Durant this year have been the best basketball player interviews maybe ever. No idea what your personal problem with Simmons is but one thing he ISNT doing is falling.
