Nictarion #181 Posted June 27 Luongo is calling it a career. Seems like Bob to Florida is a forgone conclusion at this point.
A Horse Named Stranger #182 Posted June 27 One of the all time greats. The only thing missing in his CV is really the bloody Stanley Cup. Too bad he was not on a proper championship team for most of his career. Yes, he was there when the Canucks had their small window of opportunity, but he really did not get as many shots at the Cup as Brodeur, and neither were the Canucks as good as Roy's Avalanche teams. But with Bobby Lou out of the picture, I feel no longer obliged to wish a team from bloody Florida good fortunes in hockey.

So I honestly did not think of the Vezina. I think Ryan Miller, or Carey Price would happily trade their Vezina's for a Stanley Cup. However, how has Luongo not won that thing in 04 (?), I mean he was playing behind a horrible team, and still kept them being somewhat comeptitive in most games. Well, most of the best goalies have both. As far as 2004, Luongo didn’t have much of a chance since Brodeur also had a really good season that year, including 11 shutouts. And of course because the Panthers didn’t make the playoffs. Think Bob was the first to finally win one on a non-playoff team in 2013. It took like 80 years. Joe Pesci #186 Posted June 30 Well, the Pens traded Kessel to the Coyotes for Alex Galchenyuk and a D prospect. Guess it's not a bad return and frees up a little cap space, but honestly I'd rather have seen them get rid of Sullivan if it had to be one or the other. It's hard to replace a point per game player, even with his defensive liabilities.
Nictarion #187 Posted June 30 Sounds like Panarin is headed to the Islanders. At least it’s not the Rags. Sucks it’s another Metro team though.

GallowKnight #189 Posted July 1 (edited) Panarin to the Rangers and Bobrovsky to the Panthers. 11x7 for Panarin and 10x7 for Bobrovsky apparently. Edited July 1 by GallowKnight

Nictarion #192 Posted July 30 Devils traded for Russian star Nikita Gusev. Never played a game for VGK, but he’s been the best player in the world outside of the NHL the last couple seasons. Ray Shero is really making Taylor Hall’s choice to re-sign or not easier.
Lord Patrek #194 Posted October 1 Man, can't wait for this new season to begin! Of course, as a Habs fan my expectations are not very high. . .
Nictarion #195 Posted October 5 They blew the lead (and the game ) but what a goal. He scored a similar one against Pittsburgh last year.
Nictarion #196 Posted October 8 Malkin out indefinitely. Wonder if the Pens finally miss the playoffs this year. Think their streak is at what, 13 seasons?
Lord Patrek #197 Posted October 9 It's only Week 1. Still plenty of hockey left to play, so it's too early to tell. . .
Mark Antony #198 Posted October 11 Duchene is even better than I was expecting. Interested to see how consistent he will be throughout the year. Think the Preds are still maybe a top 6 winger away from being serious contenders but I like our play so far.
Nictarion #199 Posted October 14 Devils have now blown two different 3 goal leads, and a 4 goal lead to remain winless. Ray Shero needs to show John Hynes the fucking door.
Nictarion #200 Posted October 19 Jack Hughes with his first NHL goal against big brother Quinn’s Canucks. He’s looking better and better every game. Pretty much everyone said Kakko was more NHL ready due to his size, but Hughes definitely looks like he belongs. With the Devils locking up Nico Hischier for the next 7 years, they’re going to be set down the middle for quite awhile.
