The reason there aren't very many treatments for pedophilia is because the majority of society doesn't care to treat them. They just want them punished, and the courts are quick to punish rather than cure. Which is understandable, but doesn't cut to the core of the problem.
Well they are not concerned with protecting the kids that much is certain, if the pedaphile accepts treatment for his/her "condition" then they get released early and go out and do it again. Even get placed in protected homes right next to a school. Some punishment isn't it?

anyway its only one sleep before Christmas so hope people get what they want from Santa :)

Its like drugs. If you've got a drug addict, the way you get them to stop is keeping them away from the source of the addiction, keeping them in rehab until you know they're better, and not reminding them they're a drug addict over and over again. Best way to get an addict back on the stuff is to harass them about it. My brother was a junkie, but he got off the stuff, and stayed off by not advertising the fact he used to be on it, and by us not reminding him about it.

I figure pedophiles must be similar, and the reason they recommit, and don't stay 'clean' is because society won't let them.

Now obviously the government has to get its act together in regards to housing pedophiles after their release. You can't put them near kids, so they've got to stay away from schools and churches, playgrounds. And they've got to keep pedophiles away from one another.

Sometimes though, they don't want to be cured, and won't work towards honest rehabilitation. I figure if a pedophile doesn't want to be cured they have to be put down. A re-offense should be a hanging offense in regards to child molestation.

Oh and merry christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I was a bit dissapointed with the decorations (or lack of) in Perth this year. When I was a kid and for many yers since then they used to have lights going across all intersections in the CBD. Not so now. I was worried about political correctess, but maybe it's just a lack of council funds. Alot of xmas programs on this morning, good I think.

Well the sister and brother in law are over from the UK so we're having an "Aussie Xmas" of seafood this year for a change, with an ice-cream pudding. That didn't stop me from buying a famous Newastle Lady Pudding yeserday arvo. Brady will know of it if he drops in here.

Paedophiles...yes...GS I think you might be referring to a bust that AFP took part in, in SA. If it s the same one I'm thinking of, it was partly due to them accessing child pornography material.

I think thats the one OLP, I know trhe feds have been doing some great work in that area recently.

Merry Christmas ALL sorry for being a day late but was a tad interesting this year. Strange how RL seems to be able to reflect the net at times. The good stuff first, spent Chrissy eve with the aunt and cousin and woke up to gift giving and mango's :)
Went and visited another friend in the hills and went to a party with her, there was crayfish there and most of the people didn't like it so I got to pig out on the crays :)

Then that night back at my friends place she tells me that her oldest and best friend has asked her daughter if she"wants a naughty hug"
Somewhat mind blowing and causing major problems.

Naughty hugs huh. Sounds kinky. How old is the daughter though? If she's under 16, even 18 I take it back.

That happens so often. The child says something that made them uncomfortable or confused them. and then all of a sudden a fury breaks out. They become afraid in seeing what a big deal it is. and start to question themselves, Maybe I didn't hear him right Maybe he didn't say that. because the results are their responsibility, or at least that's how they start to feel.

On the upside if a child tells and a big deal about it is made. While the adult can deny and perhaps get out of it. the Child becomes a less desirable target, because they talk. and the adult will forever have that doubt cast on them so they know they are watched.
As long as she is encouraged to tell. She is better off.

08 almost done and dusted. it's crazy how fast this year went for me. How about you all?

ahhh stop ya bitchin and get back to work :P

man its been a strange year hopefully next one is better. With Australia out of Iraq that will at least be one good thing. Now if Labour would get its friggin act together and if the liberals would just blow away then maybe something good will happen :P

My new years resolution is to give up tobacco. I figure that will be hard enough without adding anything else to it.

Well my fellow aussies you know that job I was saying I didn't get, well I was delightfully wrong!
I start on monday at 7.30am :)

I am on top of the world!
So happy in fact that I am going to finish off a bottle of wine or two :)

True it means I don't get to go away to a private beach with friends but still a job is much better :)
