Ah the blonde, I often travel to the beach for the "scenery" of an afternoon. :P

I just remembered that I have actually reversed/bumped into something another time, but alas it was not my car. It was one of the banged up work Utes on site and I was purposely thrashing it around. Such a responsible employee, hehe.

A few of the other guys at work took the work van 4WD, boy did that fuck the suspension up.

When I was 14 and doing an afternoon paper-round on my treadly, this was the direct cause of me riding into the rear of a parked car. It was an expensive distraction.

yeah well we have all either had it happen or come damned close to having it happen.

The thing most people don't seem to realise though is that all the time your on the road you should be focused on the road.

GS,

thanks for the advice regarding my sex dilemma. I posted it cause I thought it was good for a laugh. In the end the cockblocking rascals set events in motion that meant we didn't leave the hotel and get and get any disinhibiting dinner and alcohol into us. Probably for the best.

Well mate what can I say sometimes it is just not meant to be

What a pack of wowsers they were though, I mean you can always talk and make an adult decision but they all went nuts

I didn't really notice that. Some did take a serious stand against the idea, but that's cause I probably sounded serious when I was asking them rather than joking. There were a few piss funny comments made saying think of down there etc.

Speaking of population issues, has anyone paid attention to the fact that Pauline Hanson is going back to the British motherland?

I'll miss that saucy bitch. There is no room is the country for honest politicians.

That is the real problem, she was honest and as such was a threat. She was also an easy target since she was not very bright either.

I still do not understand how saying everyone should be treated equally is being racist.

That is what baffles me also GS, she wasn't racist at all. Maybe it was her red hair or annoying voice that people didn't like.

"I don't like it,"

Don't get me wrong I was not a fan as such of her but I was of her honesty and her simple clearheadedness to cut to the heart of an issue that experts have spent days making as complex as possible.

ie multi culturalism is not really working all thats happening is that enclaves are forming

" the asians etc are not integrating instead they are banding together"

and yuku finally let me in!

the reality of the situation was what she was saying rather than what was by then being described as a shining example of multiculturalism.

She called a spade a spade and thats not allowed in parliment

I didn't really object to Pauline Hanson as a person, but I don't care much for the far-right and protectionist attitudes which she embodied. I'm sure she'll enjoy the UK. Who knows, she might be flying the flag for the BNP in a few years' time :P.

First week of uni is drawing to a close. Tomorrow is the assessment day for Negotiation & Mediation, which is a one-week "intensive" unit that I have taken to reduce my workload during semester. I didn't have very high expectations going in to the course, but I've found myself enjoying it more than any unit I've taken in the last five years. That makes me feel just a little bit better about paying over $1,000 for one week's tuition ;).

I'm surprised with you guys really, but then again a few people are realising now that she was right about a few things she just wasn't the right person to change things. You might also be surprised that I actually don't like Pauline. I hated her when she first came out and that was when I was in HS. But sort of understand things a bit better now. However I think she is still a racist despite her fall back statement of equality for all. Don burke or someone else did an interview with her and her family at the house and her old mother said "History says the yellow race will rule the world and if we don't catch up the yellow race will rule the world."

oh I think you are right she was probably a racist but not openly. She was a lot like Howard in that regard, though he was a bit more blatant about it at times.

And I don't think anyone here actually liked her, but maybe like myself she had some qualities which were admirable and much needed in politics.

Regrettably, its an attitude that is pretty common among people of that generation. I still catch my own mum dropping clangers like that. :frown5:

Plenty of room for nerds and blokes with some form of Tourette's (Abbott), though.

Hanson was a bit of a duffer. I thought she had a bit of a racist streak with regards to her thoughts on aborigines, but I never thought she was the supremacist some folks portrayed her as.

I've got Commercial Practice, Procedure, Public International Law and Consumer Law (really not looking forward to the last of those). The chances of me actually showing up to lectures are pretty slim though, with the possible exception of PIL which I am genuinely interested in...depends on the quality of the teaching really.

You'll probably enjoy Negotiation Stubby. If it's anything like the week that I just had then it will be very skills-based and practical, which makes for a refreshing change.

Yeah I think so too. She said we will not have to cite any caselaw or statues for the entire semester. Thats cool - because in Corps its all bloody caselaw and statutes.
