Court of Law v. 7 (Gregor Clegane)

I have been intentionally avoiding those trials because if I bring them to the court, then I can't argue for or against any of them. I very much want to argue for or against those characters, I don't want to be left out of those arguments. And! We may have to change the ground rules for those trials as well because I know popularity or lack thereof would mean 2 of those characters can never get a fair trial in this setting.

Would you like me to draw up the charges in those cases, so that you can be a juror?

1) Guilty.

2) He was under order by his liege lord to commit such heinous acts. His guilt is attributable only if it is an affront to the King. Elsewise, innocent.

3) Guilty, many times guilty, even admitted once, in another case.

4) The charge is mislabeled. Enemies of state can be poisoned and made to labor to the benefit of the captivity, but can not be physically abused. Innocent of slavery, guilty of abuse of prisoners of war. Unless you speak of those he did not convict of war, in which case, guilty of slavery.

5) As stated above, most certainly Guilty.

6) Same as 2, Guilty if an affront to the King, Innocent if not.

7) Again, Same as 2, verdict is to the King.

8) Same King's verdict.

9) Guilty in MO. Also the abuse she suffered could merit slavery/torture.

10) Guilty, absolutely.

11) Guilty.

` I would say the only charge Gregor is not guilty of would be number 6.

I can't believe Cersei hasn't been brought up on charges. Or would her trial just be too easy?

The fact she actually is charged in the book by the Faith, and is yet to meet all the charges being a major part of the book, might have a bit to do with it.

But in that case, all the more fun to try her in prep of the book.

1. Regarding ser Hugh of the Vale it cannot be proved that he intentionally killed him. Dismissed

Regarding Lord Darry it was during the war. Innocent

2. Under orders from his Lord to wreak havoc to their enemies and assist the war effort. Innocent

3.Same as charge 2. Innocent

4.They were prisoners of war not slaves. Dismissed

5.They were prisoners of war. Innocent

6.Same as charge 2. Innocent

7.Same as charge 2. Innocent

8.Same as charge 2. Innocent

9.She was captured during the war. Innocent

10. War had not been declared. While at that point he was guilty later a new king ascended the throne, the Hand was executed and the orders were invalid. Dismissed

11. Same as charge 10. Dismissed

While there are many reports of his brutal nature all of the above happened because his Lord ordered him and took place during the reign of the former king.

Innocent of all charges.

Your argument on charge 10 sort of contradicts your judgement on charge 5. If war was not declared, which I agree with you on, how can he legally take prisoners of war?

Even though I was one of those who said he couldn't really be charged with the murder, is there any doubt anyway that he did it? Given how she likes to boast, I reckon if Cersei were asked about Hugh's death (she'd probably need her memory jogged first to remember who he is) she'd likely admit to it.

Guilty of all, death by fire.

How is count 5 of the Jaime one guilty, look at the tally.

After considering your argument on charge 5 in the Jamie trial, the court proceeded to recount tally of the charge in question. After a recount of just charge 5 the court did find a discrepancy in the final numbers which were originally stated as 22 guilty,17 not guilty, and 6 dismissals. However, your argument invokes an amendment that was voted on during the Jamie Lannister trial, but not enacted until the next trial which was stated when the amendment was rendered.

There is no doubt that he did it, but there was no substantial evidence to say he intentionally committed the act.

This court call upon the defendant Ser Gregor Clegane, alias ‘The Mountain,’ Knight of Clegane’s Keep and charge him with:

Ser Gregor was not aware of Lady Arya Stark, but the act of taking her against her will should not be dismissed.

Guilty

Charge 10) Treason-Ser Gregor openly attacked men ordered by the Hand of the King Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell and carrying the banner of King Robert Baratheon when they sort to bring him in to answer for his many atrocities. This attack was no different from an attack on the king himself.

Charge 11) Assault (against Kingsmen)-For the act of resisting arrest this court finds that Ser Gregor’s actions warrant a charge of assault.

Guilty

Verdict:Guilty

Punishment:Give him to Rhllor.

Welcome to the 7th installation of the “Official court of law” for this board. In this thread we will debate and pass judgement on character crimes from the work ASOIAF. As judges we bear a burden of upholding the integrity of our court so being impartial is imperative, keep all arguments in a legal context that suit the standards of this court. All posters are welcomed to make their case, at the end of your argument pass your judgement and sentence!!!!

The rules: Every poster has one vote (per charge) of guilt or innocence.

**For a guilty verdict, your options are:

  • Send them to the wall. (same as prison sentence)
  • Death by sword. (Clean and quick)
  • Death by flames. (An ode to R’hllor)
  • Death by flaying. (oh boy)
  • Monetary fine
  • Exile and/or
  • Stripped of land/title.
  • Prison sentence

**If you find the character innocent, simply state innocent after your argument.

As for as evidence that can be submitted, posters can submit any argument they deem relevant. However we cannot use any pardons or prior convictions as evidence in the matter. Our court will not recognize the judgement of any other court or ruling body.

**You can also vote for charges to be dismissed (majority rule).

**At the end of the week the vote will be counted and the final sentence carried out. Majority rules. Only the nominated character will be discussed, however, you can indict characters you also find culpable, as part of your ruling, and they can be added to the docket.

**Votes can be changed before they are counted, but do so in your original post.

Posters can just cast a vote, which is your right, but try to state a case as well. Your opinion actually matters and it may serve to change the vote of another judge.

*Do not take it personally if your favorite character is being torn to pieces. Everyone is fair game.

****If votes of 'not guilty' and 'dismissed' taken together comprise over 50% of the total votes cast, the defendant is to be found 'not guilty' or the charge is to be 'dismissed', with the option that gained the most votes between the two representing the final verdict.****
