a free shadow
Here is this.Looks as if could be tigers. Is this traceable/suggestive in some way?Edit: Book spoilers made their way in.
Myrish Swamp Thing
I was puzzled that she didn't get the Stark direwolf. I thought it would be a combination of that and something else.
Loras
Tigers would make sense seeing as she is from Volantis. There is no indication, in the show, that her family is tiger supporters.I thought they were lions circling each other... but tigers makes far more sense. TomBadgerlock
There is a Malaquo Maegyr from Volantis, who is a Tiger.Catelyn gets a direwolf, though. But Cersei gets a lion.
Maester Tormund
There is a Malaquo Maegyr from Volantis, who is a Tiger.Catelyn gets a direwolf, though. But Cersei gets a lion.Catelyn, while Tully by birth, is without a doubt now a woman of the North. Cersei is a Lannister through and through. Buckwheat
Here is this.Looks as if could be tigers. Is this traceable/suggestive in some way?Excellent catch, Shadow!I think tigers make sense since she is from Volantis. It would have been much easier to give her a wolf, though. Loras
The big thing that surprised me about the opening sequence was that Ian McElhinney was not credited as a series regular. Bizarre.I do think her sigil looks cool though!
billy g.
It's too small to make out, really. Maybe it could be an elephant and a tiger? The two ruling parties of Volantis, circling each other.

Tourniquet
Great catch. Tiger and a Lion?
jonny__bravo
Spotted this when I was explaining the opening sequence sigils to my non-book reading friend. Intially I thought it was a lion and a direwolf circling each other, given the intrigue surrounding Oona Chaplin's character. Bit more research suggests the two circling tigers is the sigil of the Meagyr Family in Volanits.
Bride of Winter
Nice catch, and interesting thread! I'm really liking the bow for Ygritte as well. simple but fitting (if they ever have any other wildlings make the opening credits, it'd be cool if they all had the same sigil imo)

Tadco26
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=jsTVnZm9hFgMind slightly blown.I'd caught a few of those "clues" but not all of them. It does make a man wonder... :stunned:The pros to that theory are that it gives a real reason to have a completely different character from Jeyne, when that change seemed rather lacking in purpose to me.On the flip side the show has no hints of being subtle with anything from Renly and Loras to Littlefinger's plotting, so it makes you wonder if they would are capable or trusting enough of their audience to try something that ambitious and relatively difficult to pick up on.
