CyanidePie
I have recently caught up on Dark Horse's Fire and Stone series, which bridges the Prometheus, Aliens, Predator, and AVP movie universes into one comic event and absolutely loved it. Then I started thinking about how much I wanted to see some of my other favorite properties get the comic treatment, and thought it would be a good discussion topic. My choices are:InceptionThere is literally an endless amount of story to explore when it comes to hacking people's dreams. I would love to see a comic set both before and after the events of the movie. The before story could take place back when it was very first created by the military as a training exercise for soldiers and the events that eventually lead up to it being banned on a global scale. The after story could be about an entirely different group of characters who were illegally operating a "Dream Team" or it could delve even further into the concepts of dream interpretation and the therapeutic benefits of dream hacking. Imagine how useful one of those 'dream machines' would be to a psychologist who was trying to help a patient. Or how absolutely fucked up it would be. UnderworldThis franchise was criminally under-explored, even within its own story (how the hell did we never get a movie about Amelia?), so just imagine all the real-world historical powder kegs that you could drop the Vampire/Lycan war into. Reboot the series in comic form, and explore all the interesting history that was just glossed over in the movies.
motherofkitties
Before the recent announcement of a new series, I thought Twin Peaks could be a great comic. The importance of imagery would carry over well, with fewer restraints in the way if the creators wants to do something really weird.

Garlan the Gallant
Probably none of my favorite TV or movie properties. I have rarely read any adaptation that was allowed to progress the actual story/universe in any meaningful way. I think the Dark Horse line of Star Wars comics was able to do this well with Star Wars: Legacy. Dark Horse generally does good adaptations. I like what they have done with Buffy and Firefly. But for every adaptation that is good you get about 10 that are not and are little more than advertisements. The most innovative adaptation that I have seen was the Aliens vs. Stormwatch annual by Warren Ellis. Not for what it added to the Aliens universe but because of the impact it had on the Stormwatch comic book. The only property I think I would read at this point that has not been adapted is Babylon 5...but only if it was written by JMS. And I mean, actually written by him. I have no interest in reading something his ghost writers have written after reading the crap he is putting out through his reinvented Joe's Comics over at Image. The Reckoner
Is Wet for Nessie a sequel to Billionaire Dinosaurs Forced Me Gay? A John Blake themed sequel series to the Dark Knight trilogy, with Blake becoming Batman ala Terry in Batman Beyond. Nolan-inspired interpretations of more fantastic villains like Freeze would be interesting.
red snow
Inception is ripe for comic adaptation in much the way an ongoing Matrix comic would (there's been comics of matrix already). For some reason I'd like a Highlander comic as it seemed such a rich world to explore for only one movie. The thing is I'd usually prefer they do TV shows of movie properties where possible. There aren't many adaptations that have felt like worthy continuations. Even Buffy with Whedon writing lost me by the end of "season 8).
