Curethan
World is therefore a computer that operates with relations of meaning not relations of information? Sorry man, that makes no sense to me.
sologdin
sorry, fellas, but the computer allegory/uberplot is not working for me. this is at root a gloss on post-tolkienian secondary worldism, complete with ersatz feudalism, a darklord, prophetics, bogus racialist correspondences, uncritical supernaturalism, and all of the other normal indicia of the sub-sub-genre. that we must specify that RSB has masturbating orcs rather than simple orcs is of no moment. Michael Seswatha Jordan
Multiple subplots and primary characters are the norm in Epic Fantasy afaik. From wikipedia; Kellhus is most important to the main plot of PoN trilogy (although he also functions as the antagonist in Akka and Cnaiur's subplots), Mimara or Sorweel are candidates for that position in AE ... we shall see. Yea, I was gonna bring up Mimara. But, I was thinking the main protagonist would have been there from the beginning.
WrathOfTinyKittens
Been away from the forums for a long while, but I'm pleased to see that there was some movement on TUC!
Bolivar
While Kellhus is the lodestone of the series, Achamian is the protagonist for me. His is also the only plot line in the Aspect Emperor books that has a satisfying beginning, middle, and end in each volume.

I think his intuitions about Kellhus are right. But, maybe he doesn't know Kellhus's endgame like the rest of us. Like Curethean pointed out, there could be multiple protagonists. WrathOfTinyKittens
Kellhus is "what comes before" the plot. Neither definitively the antagonist or protagonist, yet ultimately responsible for moving the plot forward.

Anatúrinbor
Wait...people think Proyas is going to be inside the Carapace?
Yeah, if I had to put my money on someone getting into the Carapace (whether of his own will or not) it's going to be Achamian. It would make a great ending to his arc.

Anatúrinbor
I should have said 'if someone has to go into the carapace' as I'm not completely on-board with that idea. But on a reread it seemed to me that Bakker has been prepping Achamian to become the NG from the very beginning. Could be part of Seswatha's grand plan even.
