  1. It’s astounding how many A list actors they’ve gotten for this show. I do think partly they’ve realized with post Covid landscape and cost of special effects that they can’t really reproduce the immense scope of the novels. So they’re going to lean into the characters.
  2. You can’t really say that for sure. Texas still has a much more impressive resume than FSU. So you’re saying Alabama loses to auburn but still beats Georgia to be the SEC champ? Yeah that’s still a far better win than anything FSU has.
  3. The thing is with these giant monsters is that you need the sense of scale. Having Godzilla waddle along there super speed as Kong chases after just loses all sense of scale and realism. (Haha I know realism with kaijus but this also killed Pacific Rim 2 in comparison to 1 when the monsters/mechs lost all sense of weight in their movements) Just a really bad shot that I hope never makes the finished movie. Godzilla just looks like a dude in a suit.
  4. What’s with pink colored Godzilla? Also that shot at the end looked really weird. Is that like a baby Godzilla? Just felt really unnatural looking. That being said apparently Godzilla minus one is amazing and I’ll be watching that at some point.
  5. It’s also part of the committees job to choose teams that make a good on field product. Can anyone look at what FSU has done lately and think they’d give Michigan a good game?
  6. And yes anyone who is a fan of ACC should realize it’s basically a mid major conference. Compare their income to SEC or Big 10. Only reason the big schools have to left the conference is the punitive terms of the deal. Something iirc the schools are trying desperately to get out of so they can join a real conference and make big bucks.
  7. It’s the ACC they’re just not very good. Sorry they’re just not. Beating Florida who is not good means nothing. Out of the power five conferences the ACC is the weakest. Power five is a meaningless term defined to shut out mid majors. All that happened this year was the committee realized one power five conference was the weakest and chose the champions from the better power five conferences. Four spots and five power conferences so someone had to be left out. Texas and Alabama just had better resumes. And also had their starting qb. FSU just isn’t the same class as the other teams. Oregon would run them off the field.
  8. Not really. It’s never been just rank all the unbeaten against each other and then rank all the one loss teams against each other. Sure LSU is a good win but that’s really it. The only difference between this and before is this “power 5” argument but tbh that’s weak. ACC just isn’t very good this year. We’ve had unbeaten mid majors out of good mid major conferences get shut out, this isn’t any different.
  9. You’d think they’d have learned from the issues they had with divinity. Same engine, same problems apparently.
  10. Oof scratch what I said Oregon has not shown up here. Two three and outs and the game is almost out of hand.
  11. I read that first as stepped on a mime.
  12. Not if they interfere with the on field product. Just being rich isn’t going to get you success (ballmer cough) you need to have the acumen to let the professionals do their job. The boosters at A&M probably just think they can spend their way to success and it’s clear from the coach they got that the actual top coaches want more autonomy than they’d get there.
  13. I am enjoying blue eye samurai. Just at end of episode six. Excellent characters and action scenes but a little too much of the super hero for Mizu. Like for a show that is mostly ground in realism she takes some injuries that really should totally incapacitate her. Also was amused early on by the amazing tracking skills of everyone. Apparently some tracks in snow just shows everyone where to go and instantly find people.
  14. Huskies are shitting the bed today. Rivalry game and all but Wazzu is just not good this year. Tbh Washington hasn’t looked great in weeks. Just prefer they win so Oregon beating them next week has more weight.
  15. Pc games are a lot harder to hit rendering/performance targets due to so much variation between machines. While a PS5 is just a PS5.
  16. I’ve heard it’s quite good. Also pathfinder WotR just came out with new dlc and content and that’s a fantastic game.
  17. Enjoying it a ton. I play on ps5 with my eight year old son and we do it couch coop style. Haven’t noticed any lag. There were issues about 3-4 months ago with 2-3 crashes per week but haven’t seen it since. All the classes are viable with multiple builds. Not too complicated for my son like PoE is. (Not that Poe has couch coop which makes it a non starter) There is definite issues with QoL features that are lacking (loot filter please) as well as a lack of endgame content. This season has improved it a lot but there needs to be more. I do agree many of the quests are bland vanilla fantasy stuff but the main quest line is good with memorable characters and moments. But to me the main core loop is fantastic. Game is fun to play and lots of different styles you can play as. I figure it won’t be a game I play fulltime but I’ll come back to it every other season and when expansions come out.
  18. But monsterverse is like a movie every what 18 months to two years. That’s fine because that’s the market for those films. If they made 3 movies a year they’d kill their goose. Marvel is both pumping out crazy quantity but not quality and that’s pretty bad. I probably kept up with everything for like 18 months post endgame but I think what deadlines says is spot on. There were plenty of average films during the glory days of the MCU but they were propped up by the must sees. Now we just have the average films and that’s not enough. Like I really liked the last Spider-Man but only so much you can go on nostalgia.
  19. Oops missed that. I think there is a difference between prep competition in the US vs elsewhere. Simmons had Doc Rivers on the other day and they were taking about practices and games. In Europe they’ll practice six days a week and have a game. In the US they just play games and have no time for practice. Which I think does a poor job of developing skills on US prep players. My guess is this Ignite team played a ton of games and just blew teams out with superior athleticism. Likely didn’t leave much time for actually practicing your shot and such.
  20. 6’6/7” with a seven foot wingspan is undersized now? Okay. I do agree that the biggest risk is he doesn’t develop an outside shot. Not a lot of players come into league as bad shooters and become good. Then again the type of competition he was playing before the pros was not very structured and not against good competition. He didn’t need a shot back there. I agree I’d be very surprised if he ended up better than Wemby. But at the same time I just see a tall gangly guy with little strength who could be injured at any time. For every Jokic there is tons of bigs who flamed out due to injury. If healthy I agree they should both be better. I just have little faith in that either big stays healthy. And Chet already has red flags there.
  21. Ausar is doing otherworldly things on defense and is a great rebounder. Yes he doesn’t have much of a shot yet and yes he plays for Detroit but if I had to guess which of these three would win DPOY it would be Ausar. He hounded and shut down Shai and has done some pretty crazy things defensively. I said caveat for me was the thin bigs staying healthy. Chet already lost a year and I just don’t trust someone Wembys size to stay healthy. Obv Ausar has to develop a shot first but the rest of his game is really good for a rookie.
  22. It’s actually possible Ausar ends up the best here. Wemby and Chet are doing great but I always distrust big men staying healthy. Thompson is already an amazing defender even more so than the two bigs.
  23. Beal is out for 3 weeks more now. Harden is a disaster as usual. Why do teams keep doing these stupid deals? Or why do stars demand them too. Like James should realize that Westbrook would never be able to be effective enough to reduce his minutes but also fell sway to picking up a has been to save the team.
  24. Also FFT and it’s sequels as well as tactics ogre reborn are both great rpgs as well leaning into the strategy side but still with great stories.
  25. Well you can then tank the season and reload for next year. Few teams can just win consistently every year.
