  1. They're not even aggressively average.
  2. BuT tHaT's WaR [Pelosi shrugging and smiling on MSNBC a few nights ago]
  3. But your previously aired beef was about some posters in these threads, Ty. I like you man, but pick a lane, bruh.
  4. Yeah, that'd be hard for me. Being a parent and encouraging healthy autonomy can be a tough row to hoe sometimes
  5. Same. Just as I don't equate the horrendous actions of Hamas with all Palestinians, but on that side there's been arguments herein about Hamas being Gaza's government, references to their former Charter, etc. At some point it's just smoke rings blown at mirrors.
  6. Sounds joyful. As mentioned in my post above my girls are younger and still experimenting, but alcoholism runs in the maternal family so I'd be lying if I said there weren't background concerns. Your daughter shuts down conversation completely?
  7. Our 13yo stole a bottle of her mother's rum two weekends ago [got caught] and last weekend my 15yo came home drunk from a party and she spent most of the next day in bed.
  8. Yeah, a bunch of eggheads on a message board will be the arbiters. Go ahead. I'm going to pass.
  9. Crimes against Humanity like apartheid and genocide aren’t lists where every line item need be checked. Regarding the hairsplitting, how about let’s not and say we did. It’s more than a little fucking ghoulish.
  10. Another fun episode. Interesting seeing Loki more or less sidelined to advance the plot with Sylvie taking on the more traditional mantle of the character [to a point] I'm tempted to stop watching and wait until all the episodes are released for a straight binge, despite being fully aware I won't be able to.
  11. I well remember the sensitive Canadians that got bent by the label of genocide after the release of the MMIWG report. White people. We fragile.
  12. Saw something about this earlier. The 6 yo was stabbed 26 times according to the coverage I saw. Hang him.
  13. First two episodes of Lessons in Chemistry were quite enjoyable. Brie Larson showing the range between trauma guard and the walls coming down, and Pullman really selling his character too. Haven't read the book it's based on, so the end of the second episode got me good.
  14. Can't distribute it without gas for the gennies or electricity either.
  15. I think Ty's point, and he'll correct me if I'm wrong, is that Hamas won't release them because Israel will be coming into the Strip imminently, at which point Hamas will either commit to its threats and start executing hostages or hanging on to some [or most] for further leverage [edit: both, probably] And, unless a location is caught by surprise, it's doubtful the hostage[s] wouldn't be executed to deny their recovery.
  16. You've also claimed it's two independent countries at war.
  17. Hamas won't release them willingly. Nah.
  18. This is true, but should be caveated that there hasn't been an election in Gaza since 2006, which is distinctive imo.
  19. iirc, Gaza’s been under an effective blockade since 2006. There’s also been 25ish killings of Palestinians in the West Bank since this started. With over 500 dead children in Gaza within that same timeframe, I’m very concerned about Israeli resolve and or their emotional state going into the commencement of the ground game.
  20. MSNBC is usually my go to, but their coverage and guests have been veering pretty hard into defensive justification was what's going on in Gaza currently, and about to. The UN has reported something like 11 aid worker deaths, and the Red Cross as had 3 or 4 too. Need an aid corridor badly, for life necessities, medications, etc.
  21. Tyrion's French teacher has taken to addressing her as Lannister, which annoys the fuck out of her, and provides me a couple moments of amusement on a weekly basis.
  22. YMMV... iirc I lost interest in this one about 7/8ths in and never picked it back up.
  23. And yet, still disingenuous bullshit on the part of the US and Israel. I mean, for a long, long ass time I've wanted Canada to answer to a Human Rights tribunal regarding its treatment of Indigenous Peoples herein, but Canada voted against UNDRIP [as did the US, Australia, and New Zealand] so, straightforward self interest. --- re: Israel and Palestine specifically, been watching [as much I can stomach] aghast.
