Aegon
Hey... Your right. Damn. What the hell was I thinking. You may lose Grogmosh, but you'll never lose the Longspear , my son. cause what I giveth, I never taketh away. Hopefully Dub can be persuaded not to Indian-give his contribution to your apellation. Prod Longspear sounds kinda......... icky.
Linda
We'll just have to arrange a vision quest here on the board. Streaking the con naked can be replaced with the posting of revealing images to a suitable flickr account, I think.

davos
Haven't had a chance to make a proper report yet and since most everything of import has already been mentioned (probably several times) I'm just going to make some comments. First, what makes a con worth traveling acrost the country to go to is the people in the BWB. Every event or gathering I've been able to make it to I've always left impressed with the quality and diversity within the BWB and this con was no except. From renewing old acquantences from BWB events past such as GoN, CoC, Race and Stego (there are many others of course) to meeting people I've known for some time but never has the privilage to meet in person such as the marvelous Iseult, Ran, Linda, X-Ray, Mormont, Dirjj, Lev, Mandy, and many others to those few who were there that if I've encountered on the boards it was only briefly such as Lugillira (sp?), it was a wonderful group. I We throw a great party. Eric and Lodey did wonderful on the planning and organization. Aegon did a truely outstanding job of planning the decorations. Everyone worked hard. On Saturday night Mormont, Lugillira, myself and some others went party hopping. We could find no party that we found any desire to spend more than a few moments at and came back knowing that our shindig was exceeding every other party in just about every aspect. We have every reason to be proud of how we represented ourselves at this worldcon. The chess match was very cool both to participate in and to watch (as the piece I was representing was taken out early I was able to observe a good portion of the game). Again, we deservedly should be proud of being able to put on an event like this, which was distinctely unique compared to the other goings on at the con. Personally I was not able to do much in terms of conish activities. Did make it to the dealers room where I was able to find the 3 most recent Erikson books (which thrilled me since they are not available in the state and I've not been wanting to pay shipping on them to get them from Canada or the UK). Also made it to the Hugos which was actually quite nice for an awards show though obviously disappointing in that AFfC didn't win. So, it was a good weekend, if maybe a bit short, as all such things always seem. It makes me a bit down that I won't be able to make Japan but I look forward all the more to denver. Stego
Despite concoting the Grogmosh Longspear identity, Dub, the Grogmosh Legend has taken hold in the lore of the BWB and science fiction fandom. A pimp you may be, (You got Sarah, after all.) but you've never had a hundred drunks chanting your name to the heavens. Grogmosh will undoubtedley be the name of the leader of the Others, come Winds of Winter.

Dirjj!" as they pumped their (pudgy, ridiculous) fists in the air...

Veira
Here are a few highlights I can remember clearly from the con... Wednesday: I met up with Katie/Lugalirra at our hotel room and was very happy to find out that she totally rocks. We went over to the con where we ran into George, who was kind enough to tell us where the party was. After feeling fairly out of place in the con suite for a few minutes, we finally found the BwB party outside. They were fairly easy to spot. Mayhem ensued. Thursday: After an eventful day of praying before various porcelain shrines in the Hilton & the Cortona, it was time for Medieval Times. At some point on the way over, Sean interrupted mine & Katie's thoroughly obnoxious Iron Maiden sing-along to inform me that if I didn't pull over immediately he was going to piss in my car. As enticing as that was, I complied, and all was well. Without further incident, we made it to MT where much mayhem ensued. I sat by Mandy, LacyB, Mich (I love you too Mich!) & Brad, the latter of whom was scolded by the waitress and it was hilarious. Thank you to everyone who tolerated my not-so-awesome driving. Friday/Saturday: The chess match was a blast. People looked amazing, especially Pimp Randyll Tarly and Ser Loras with the lovely flower barrette. I won't go into how hot the sand snakes were because anyone who's looked at the photos should have figured that out. The party that night rocked. It was crazy talking to Katran and finding out we went to the same (very small) college, as did her cousin, who is one of my favorite people in the world (p.s. I'm Bethany, not Brittney ). Craziness! As it turns out, Snowleo's sister also went to school with us and was one of my boy toy's T.A.s. More craziness! The drinks from the Shadow Bar were very tasty and resulted in me staying up until 6am or something ungodly like that. Saturday night they were just as tasty, but we were up even later than the previous night after we were booted onto the patio deck and the party sort of degenerated (evolved?) into Kit flashing everyone. Sunday: Had to wake up after 2 hours of sleep and drive to Fresno. Ouch. To sum up, it was sooooo cool to meet all you! It was great to see the people I met at Comicon again: Quincy, Jon, Bronn & Yelena, and BH who is definitely the Host Extraordinaire. I am currently scheming a plan to kidnap Mich, Brad & Mandy to L.A. Everyone was totally awesome and I miss you all already! I can't say enough good things about the BwB and how terrific the entire con turned out. Next year will not be soon enough!
Ran
Don't recall if we've posted this, but Linda and I have been plugging away at our Worldcon reports here. Still editing some of the posts to add more info (days 4 and 5 in particular have some new stuff, and will likely get more in the next day or two). Regina
Great reports from Ran and Linda! I especially agree with the following line, lol: never go to a WorldCon expecting to actually do the things you were intending to do On another note, I just learned from your reports that Eric Shanower was at the con! I never realized he was there. As an Age of Bronze fan, I would have liked to meet him if I'd known. Too much too see in too little time... As an Age of Bronze fan, I would have liked to meet him if I'd known. Too much too see in too little time... Doh. He was right in the dealer's room, too, at the Hungry Tiger Press booth. Linda bought a couple of things and he signed them -- even did a sketch of Helen of Troy for her in one of the books. Alas, his signing line was pretty empty for his autograph session. Just one or two people showed up.
Regina
I hardly spent any time in the dealers room, alas. Next con, we're going to be there all five days. Arriving Thursday afternoon and leaving first thing Sunday morning=not enough time. We'll know better in the future!
