Robb_Warged
While I never disliked him, I always felt Jon's general plot in ASOIAF was sort of boring. That started to change in ASOS, and in ADWD I felt his story was awesome and the best portion of the book. I liked watching him react to the difficult situations the Night's Watch was experiencing. The build-up towards his betrayal at the end is great. Dany, Barristan, and Theon have some great stuff, Tyrion too. But from beginning to end, I really felt Jon's plot was the most consistently engaging. Holding the wedding for the Karstark girl, dealing with Stannis' wife and her men, balancing the demands and needs of the Wildlings with his duties as LC of the Night's Watch, growing financial and resource strains, the eerie bastard letter, the awesome scene where he tells everyone his plans to confront Ramsay, culminating in his stabbing. It feels like a complete story where even slow moments are enjoyable to read due to how crazy things had become at the wall; disgruntled members of the Night's Watch joined by Stannis' army, joined by the Wildlings, it's just such a unique gathering of individuals. David Selig
Of course not. Theon's arc is easily the best and most highly rated.
Leonardo
It has the most going on certainly. Tyrion's is great if you don't take it so seriously, was my favorite POV in a good minute. Its like Bukowski is wandering the world when watching Tyrion. Most people found his bits appalling but I found it hilarious, like vomiting in the whorehouse or being a stinky drunk on the ship. TallTyrion
Of course not. Theon's arc is easily the best and most highly rated. Yeah gonna have to agree with that. The Reek chapters are arguably the best of the whole series. I like the Jon chapters in ADWD as well probably my second favourite of the book. JonSnow4President
All depends on personal preference. I like Jon's the best (see name). Other people like Theon. I'm sure others like Arya's, or Dany's. "Best" isn't something you can ever debate, unless it's something that can actually be measured, like weight or number of accidental pregancies. Literary quality/ the level of engagement isn't something really measurable.
JonCon's Red Beard
I love them. Two bad we only have two. ...wait, wrong Jon, right? Yeah, the kid's ok.
Chaircat Meow
I've really come to appreciate Tyrion's story in DwD a lot more on re-reads.
Robb_Warged
I'm going to be hammered here but I feel Theon's stuff is only great once you reach Winterfell. I think Theon had 7 chapters in ADWD? The 3 or 4 chapters that cover his misery at Winterfell and the move for him to break free of Ramsay to save Jeyne with Mance and the spearwives was awesome. That was only a few chapters though I don't want to take away from Theon at all, that moment in his sister's chapter where he says "you have to remember your name" was amazing. I just feel his awesome stuff was only 3 chapters or so. I feel Theon and Jon are such interesting parallel characters. Both had Ned as a father figure but not as complete of a father as the Stark kids. Both lived in Winterfell but were outcasts in some glaring regards (one a bastard, one a hostage). Both eventually make a move to try and carve out some sort of an accomplishment for them to find happiness in (Jon heads for the Watch, Theon takes Winterfell). Both are affected noticeably from Robb's betrayal and death. Jon rises and becomes LC but then falls at the end of ADWD. Theon falls, becomes Reek, then rises up at the end of ADWD (admittedly only to be placed in chains from what we saw in the TWOW preview chapter)

Robb_Warged
That's still 3 or 4 more than Jon. :cool4: Sorry, couldn't resist. I feel Jon's story is amazingly consistent though. That's what I like so much about it. I think it was either Jon or Dany who had the most chapters in ADWD, and while not every chapter had something big going on, even in it's quiet moments Jon's plot was consistently engaging. Just my opinion.
kimim
It's totally subjective. I like the way the Northern stories work together in that novel, so my favorite povs are Theon, Jon, and Asha.

jon stark I
Boringf and interesting are statements dfepending on the reader. For exampe for most of the readers Bran and Arya chapters are considered as boring but to me they are the most intersting ones.Dany chapters are boring or Tyrion chapters for example I read as fast as I can to skip them and be done with it because they contain to little interest. Robb_Warged
It's not hard to gauge general opinion though. Tyrion Hand of the King
I like Jon but I'd probably rate him 3rd in ADWD. Theon easily deserves the top spot and then I'd have to give the 2nd to Davos. I know he only has 4 chapters but the last 2 are 2 of my favorite in the series, so that has to count for something. Northernmonkey
I loved Jon's storyline the first time I read it, especially the stuff with Stannis, but I find it gets a little boring during rereads. All the stuff with the wildlings gets a little bit tiresome once Mance has been defeated. It's still great though. But I agree with the majority, Theon has the best arc in ADWD
Northernmonkey
My favourite POV story in ADWD is Barristan Selmy's. I love Barristan's chapters as well. It's fascinating watching him reluctantly playing all these political games. I love it when he confronts Hizdahr.
