Rena Melville
How so?Both have no "neccesity" to be showed. One is terrible and one is funny?Eh, D&D chose to make a joke out of Theon torture porn, not us. They did it, you ask them. I found it disgusting too. Now, if you think critics shoul've spoke up agasint GoT earlier, yeah, i agree. That's really not the first time D&D fucked up, and probably not the last. But now what? It's too late so critics shouldn't be angry at all? i mean, at least they finally understand some of their mistakes. I'll take that over dumb apologies reviews every day. JonCon's Red Beard
Tommen was raped? Yes. And before you start something senseless, boys can be raped too. Margaery, a grown woman, is having sex with him with the purpose of manipulating him and using him. Doesn't matter how much he enjoyed it (because, for instance, victims of rape, male and female, can have orgasms as well): it was statutory rape. JonCon's Red Beard
I suppose it is to show how she hits rock bottom before becoming the ruler of the world. Far more important than a dwarf who is just a side player.Though I agree with you a little that Tyrion is showed to be ALL good I agree. I believe Dany will raise from her mistakes. But she's not the only one commiting them: also Tyrion and Jon.
Aleenys
One actually happened in the books (Albeit off screen) the other didn't. And even then there was a lot of complaints about the torture porn at the Dreadfort, at the very least because it was a waste of valuable screen time. And this. Aleenys
Yes. Thank you. That's the freaking point. ANYONE would save Sansa Stark. No one would lift a finger for Jeyne Poole. Theon did. And if they ever find out, Theon is dead. He didn't mind. He had enough and saved Jeyne Poole. That's the difference between reading and understanding the text. Thank you. Awesome points everyone has been raising here. :) They are cutting all the thematic importance in the books other than adding the very clever "REVENGE!! REVENGE FOR EVERYONE!!" Both happened.Just that the characters had to be combined for a TV show format.Just to clarify to everybody . I was actually talking about the people I know. These women laughed at the cock merchant line, yet complained about Sansa. That disgusted me.My apologies to those here who did 1.React to theons torture2. Found the cock joke to be bad taste3. React to sansa scene. If you did not do all 3, well the double standards speaks for itself.

David Selig
Tommen behavior display the kind of person who is in age for consent, right? :dunno: To be fair, the adults as written by D&D tend to be just as silly and immature as Tommen like 80% of the time. :cool4:
Winter's Knight
Idiotic. He was having consensual sex with his wife on their wedding night.Children cannot consent. And unless you want to get banned, you'll look up the forum policy on denying rape.

Winter's Knight
Show Tommen is NOT a child.Yea he is, actually. Tommen is no more than thirteen right now -his age in season one was stated to be eight.

React to sansa scene. If you did not do all 3, well the double standards speaks for itself. How exactly is a penis joke on par with what happened to Sansa? And no, both did not happen in the books. Jeyne was raped, not Sansa. Characters are not interchangeable. I think the best example that's been bought up is: Imagine for a second that Tyrion was put in the plot of Maester Kerwin (who is raped by the Ironborn). Would anyone see that as anything but gratuitous? Even though Tyrion's plot requires far less changing than Sansa's did to put him in that position? If Jeyne had to be cut there was absolutely no need to have that scene in the show. But they went out of their way to keep it in, while far larger parts of the novels lie on the cutting room floor, sacrificing all logic to get there and destroying a character arc in the process. They planned this for years. That is the complaint people have.
Khal Boner
Yea he is, actually. Tommen is no more than thirteen right now -his age in season one was stated to be eight. So he's not a child. He's a teenager. He's old enough to get married in Westeros and is old enough to consumate. Try to keep it in universe or you will just lose yourself in an irrational mish mash of book, show and real world confusion.
Le Cygne
Force them to write a plotline where Tyrion gets merged with Pia, so that Gregor can punch him in the mouth with a mailed fist. Indeed! And Pia was raped, too. Her story MUST be told! A main character MUST play this minor character! That was their rationale for Sansa. So let's see this applied equally to other main characters. Lady Fevre Dream
They should be forced to watch some of the worst episodes of their own show on a endless loop. Yeah, I know, cruel and unusual punishment, but a just one. I LOVE IT!! You've found the perfect solution. :lmao:
