Hmmm I seem to seconding many of these things. So here goes my list:

Ben Barnes as Renly.
Polly Walker as Melisandre - she's one crazy wench!
Alexander Skarsgard for Rhaegar
Adrian Pasdar for LF (although I don't know his height and that could make thing difficult)
William Dafoe as the Mad King - he's already proven he can act insane....spiderman
Jimmy Jean Louise - Xho. I think he can pull it off but with the movies and tv series' he's been in, he may be pricey.
Christian Coulson for Theon
and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Varys

The ones I'd like to add would be Cillian Murphy for Loras Tyrell Cillian. For the longest time I thought he was the hottest thing that ever walked the Earth)

and David Bowie was suggested earlier by someone for Varys, but I had him cast as the face changer that makes a deal with Arya (can't remember his name offhand and I'm at work with no reference materials).

Bruce Campbell as Robert Baratheon. Just give him a beard.

I know, weird choice, but I actually think he's perfect. He looks the part these days, and he's already got a Robert-like demeanor. And I'd like to see him play a more serious role.

Of course, if they're going for British accents, I don't know whether he can get rid his American one.

No, not based on his LOTR performance, he was ill used in that movie. He is an amazing actor, oscar winning in fact, and has lots of really good roles, good TV guest starring roles, the last one as I recall was in Law and Order.

He has a kind of intensity though, and his eyes seem as if deep pools hiding secrets.
I second Brad Dourif very good choice

For Robert, what about Gordon Kennedy from the newest BBC version of Robin Hood? When he's done up as Little John, he certainly looks the part.

Someone mentioned Mickey Rourke for the Hound. I thought of him too because his role in Sin City was so similar. His Marv was the best part of Sin City so we know he'd be able to do Sandor justice.

Michael Madsen would also make a good Hound. Either that or Ser Jorah.

Christpher Plummer for Ser Barristan Selmy. Here's another picture of what he's up to lately. Sure, he's 79 but he's tall, in reasonably good shape and can still probably move well enough to pull it off, imho. Besides, I think he would have that "presence" about him that a Selmy would have. Hell, it may be too small of a role for him (but we haven't seen all of what Martin has in store for Barristan yet...)

He's a great actor, I like him for Tywin Lannister, I don't necessarily think he is fit enough for the physical requirements of Selmy. I'd definitely second that he get SOME role.

Petyr Baelish - he's always been Michael Sheen in my head.

Renly - got to be Henry Cavill. He's a perfect Baratheon.
