WightMeWorry
Is it inappropriate to suggest Bond villians for Littlefinger? Suave and personable entrepreneur Dominic Greene played by 5'6" Mathieu Amalric has eyes that do not smile when he does. On, and Tim Pigott-Smith, who played the completely legitimate British foreign secretary and not a highly placed SPECTRE-mole should be Tywin (see V for Vendetta for further reference). That is all. admiral_atheist
John Simm as Littlefinger is a brilliant find! He has that "nice guy" charm which is crucial to make the viewer believe that he is a truly helping good guy - and I can absolutely see him as the manipulative mastermind which Petyr is. And he is short. :) Just watch him in this clip as Raskolnikov from the BBC adaptation of Crime and Punishment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2u1YeqnNWI...feature=related ETA: damn, John Simm MUST be Littlefinger. Abner Cadaver
From the start of the books I imagined Danny Trejo as Ilyn Payne, though I imagine I'm a minority of one on that. Valyrian-Steel
Brad Dourif for Varys. No, not based on his LOTR performance, he was ill used in that movie. He is an amazing actor, oscar winning in fact, and has lots of really good roles, good TV guest starring roles, the last one as I recall was in Law and Order. He has a kind of intensity though, and his eyes seem as if deep pools hiding secrets.

Valyrian-Steel
oh oh, I just thought.... how about James Callis as Petyr? Better known as gaius baltar from Battlestar Galactica. He can certainly play manipulative and conniving... and I have it on good authority...heh... Battlestar is ending so he'll need a job. Tyro Lannister
I always pictured Nick Brimble as Robert Baratheon. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0003818/ Of course the very picture of him was from 17 years ago when he played Little John in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.. the characters even have a similar manner imo. Here's a clip of him from the movie: http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=3q-Od4aF03c I can't find out how old he is now, but I would guess at around 60 maybe. Another good pic, go here and scroll down and find the Prince of Thieves pic: http://www.nickbrimble.co.uk/nickbrimble/gallery.asp
