I just restarted Baldur's Gate II: SoA!

Yeah, looks like I've uncovered everything. Although the answer to most of Eloisa's questions is "no."

Seriously? You overlooked Mazzy in the Umar Hills temple? How did you finish the Windspear Hills? And obviously you can't move on until you've found Kangaxx. And the Twisted Rune.

ETA: I already recommended it, but check doors in Athkatla while carrying a rogue stone. Have you beaten that lich in the sewers yet?

The name doesn't ring a bell, but I thought I completed that temple.

I'm also definitely not done with Feerkrieg (sp).

No, I haven't gone back for him yet. Still haven't finished the bridge murders either. I think there are plenty of smaller items for me to go back for.

Mazzy is locked up in the temple, in the room next to the "Shadow Jailer". She is just an NPC you can take along (with two minor quests attached).

So you left Fierkraag alive? Time to rectify that, I'd say.

Finishing the murder investigation and its follow up will net you at least 2 reputation points, btw.

Here's something that I don't fully get: How come I'm naturally somewhat close to the end of the game yet my spell castors have multiple levels left to go to use all of the spells in the game?

Before ToB came out, the XP cap was somewhere close to (or exactly at?) 3 million XP. Mages were thus capped at level 17, unable to cast level 9 spells from the book (and casting them from scrolls seems really wasteful, except for that one time in the Underdark where casting Freedom opens up a sidequest...). The total XP you could get from the game was slightly higher, but since everything except quest XP is split between party members it's difficult to say just by how much. Still, you should get well over 3 million in the SoA section if you manage to do everything (for example, it's completely possible to skip the Sahuagin City and go directly from Spellhold to the Underdark, which will of course result in less XP).

@ Triskele:

dragons are easy to kill if you use one particular spell.

cast feeblemind, then rush in close and start hacking away while dragon stands around doing nothing.

it might take you a couple of reloads untill you get through dragon's magic resistance, but it's pretty much a sure and easy way to deal with them.

Yeah, dragons cease being hard once you know how to use a mage.

Lower Resistance followed by Greater Malison followed by as many save-or-die spells (Chromatic Orb or Finger of Death) as necessary. Trying to kill them with direct damage is just so crude.:P

After that you'll transition to ToB and all areas you can travel to now, except for Watcher's Keep, will become inaccessible.

Wait, really? So you have to do Watcher's Keep before ToB? Are you sure?

That is, until you meet Draconis :P

Damn that guy was mean the first time

OK, so I'm going back to try and take care of all the little things before I go on to the end game scenario. I beat Firkraag pretty easily, so I must have just been way too low on levels earlier. I got that +5 sword that Keldorn can use, so I'm pumped to have my first +5 weapon. But I have a question: Where do I find that guy from the cabin's kid? That was part of the Firkraag quest, I believe, and I hadn't found him earlier, so I assumed I'd get him from beating the dragon, but that appears not to be the case.

She is being held in the room where you enter Firkraag's lair.

He/she (depends on your characters sex) is in a cell just upstairs from Fierkraag. You can even talk to him/her before going down to meet big red. Fierkraag's pet mage has the key, you must have fought him on the way out the first time, so you better hope you didn't throw it away.;)

Or Lower Resistance, plus Chromatic Orb cast by a mage at least level 12 (?). Or lots and lots and lots of traps set around the dragon before it becomes hostile.

No fun.

I preferred lots of protection from fire potions, stone skins, good sturdy armors and a magical ring or a trinket or two, lots of prayers... :D :P

Cast speed, and then rush him while mages try to lower resistances and weaken.

And priest or druid turn to attacking spells and curses.

Never used lay lots of traps before starting the fight cheat, seemed cheap.

Besides, like this you get to see your fighters flyyyiiinnng across the screen hehe. Its lively.

For some reason i remember using fog spells and a shit load of magic missiles to take those things out. Is that accurate? Man it's been a while since i've played that game.

Cloudkill and Magic Missile works, since they are unlikely to resist all of the damage (every missile gets a seperate resistance check and Cloudkill deals damage every round for the duration) and they don't actually have that many HP. It just suffers from the same problem as using melee attacks: it's so much more time consuming than what you can do with more specialised spells and is likely to cost you a lot more in healing resources (read potions) to keep your party alive while waiting for the dragon to die.

There also (used to be? a bug where Wands of Cloudkill (not the actual castable spell) ignored magic resistance.
