Saci Targaryen
I read like a chapter to check it out and it was probably the worst written novel I have ever seen. Seriously, I don't get why girls are so riled up over this book, a good looking billionaire wants to do bdsm sex with a virgin, really?!?!?! What a deep, clever plot!!And all this nonsense about old ladies divorcing in real life because of this book, wtf???Maybe lady users could explain me what's so special about this book, because my g/f couldn't. Buckwheat
I seriously doubt anybody could explain it to you in an understandable rational manner. I have only read a few laughable sentences from it, and from what I hear about it, the rest is not better. Only the fact that it was originally a fanfic of Twilight must mean something. That is to say, you are probably on the wrong forum if you want the answer. Try a shiny girly site full of hysterical teenagers and you will probably hear a lot more about it. :)
Lyanna Stark
Maybe lady users could explain me what's so special about this book, because my g/f couldn't.Sorry, I can't. My uterus just had a fit and then I just cry. But I am sure any other woman could do it since we are all the same and share the same tastes. Kalbear
It's really not for teenagers, and teens aren't the ones reading this. It's porn. Specifically it's porn for women in their 20s and up.
Sci-2
I'm surprised she isn't more into insane conspiracy theories about WWIII. ;-)
Lummel
Saci try reading this.If it is any comfort is appears that your girlfriend wasn't on the leading edge and is more of a late adopter.
Saci Targaryen
Meh, I just hope she doesn't ask me to start slapping her during sex. She just graduated from law school and hitting a female lawyer is never a good idea, even if consensual : /
WrathOfTinyKittens
This is a good thing. She'll be turned on by the book then it's bully for you! Also, apparently the series started out as Twilight fanfic, which explains a lot.
Kalbear
Start out with some nipple twisting first to warm up.
Argonath Diver
An past hook-up I am now Just Friends with explained it pretty well. She said that the book is really appealing to women that don't have great sex. She said it was laughable. I took that as a compliment! For awhile there it was pretty entertaining to see how many people out and about were reading it. I live in NYC, and when it was super-trendy, you could see about one lady per subway car, two or three per crowded coffee shop all sheepishly trying not to grin while reading it. It's died off now, simply judging by my not seeing nearly as many copies any more. Whatever, I hope it helped many women of all (sexually active) ages and lifestyles to try to have hot sex with their partner. Women wanting sex is good, therefore 50 Shades of Grey is good. It's kind of silly that so many women apparently didn't want hot sex before this book, though.
Madness
Never really agree with Kalbear or post outside of Bakker threads but +1 to it's porn.Socially-condoned erotica. Cheers ladies.
Saci Targaryen
Well, I live in Brazil, this book has just "exploded" here. I just think its funny that my g/f calls me a nerd for being hooked into a soiaf calling it "make belief" when in fact the human interactions described in Martins world are a lot more "believable" . Winter's Knight
Well, I live in Brazil, this book has just "exploded" here. I just think its funny that my g/f calls me a nerd for being hooked into a soiaf calling it "make belief" when in fact the human interactions described in Martins world are a lot more "believable" .That's a wee bit like wondering why one would watch Lesbian Orgy Part IV,when say, The World Unseen is a much more accurate depiction of women loving women-50 Shades is pornography. It is for DIY gratification. It isn't good literature sure, but then no one is claiming that it is.
Sci-2
Winter's Knight [h]as the, well, right of it.Honestly, the sex scenes aren't great but I think they might only be slightly below the erotica average.
Arbor Gold
It's porn. Specifically it's porn for women in their 20s and up.I always feel really weird when I see women reading it on planes. I'm like "She's totally reading porn in public right now!"

Sci-2
Saci - can you ask your g/f if there is any oral in any of the books?I honestly can't recall, in any of my skimming, if any penises get sucked or vaginas get licked.
Saci Targaryen
Lol, I will ask her. Anyway, if girls wanna read quality softcore porn there's always Oscar Wilde.
