What would make you stop reading this series

Recommended Posts

If all of the following occured, I'd probably stop.

Freys and Boltons defeat and kill Stannis, Manderly, the Umbers, and the last remaining loyal northmen.

Davos and Rickon die on Skagos or get killed by boltons.

Ramsay Gets Theon, and Jeyne Poole back, also gets Stannis' wife and daughter and any other hostages he wants from the wall.

Dany kills Aegon, marries Daario.

Jorah and Tyrion and Baristan all die at the battle of Mereen.

Euron sieges and overruns oldtown killing everyone inside including Sam.

Margaery loses her trial of the faith, while Cersei wins hers.

The Martells randomly die.

Quaithe turns out to be just a figment of Dany's imagination.

The Iron Bank of Bravos never gets its loan back.

Arya completely forgets her identity as a Stark, and assassinates pro stark characters instead of the people on her list.

Tommen and his kittens die.

Bronn has a heart attack and dies.

The white walkers show up, and then say fuck it and go back north.

Stannis becomes the night king or the great other or something lame.

Davos dies.

Davos dies.

Jaime dies and so does Brienne.

Sansa dies.

Littlefinger dies and we never learn the truth of his plans.

Varys dies and we never learn the truth of his plans.

The High Sparrow takes over all of Westeros.

Tyrion and Jaime are secret Targs.

Everyone is a secret Targ.

Davos dies.

Thats it, everything posted above would have to happen for me to quit reading the books. Omitting nothing, it comes as a bundle.

So if everything you listed happens but Davos dies only 3 times, you will be ok with it? :D btw great list, we are on the same wave.

I laughed at "The Iron Bank of Bravos never gets its loan back."

Really nothing would cause me to stop reading the books. I mean, if you asked this question while reading AGOT, people may say if Ned dies I'm DONE!!! If asked before the RW, people may have said if Robb doesn't kill Jaime I'm DONE!!!! Before Jon died (in thoery), Stannis, (INSERT FAV CHARACTER NAME HERE!!!!)

So if we have already kept reading past these things then nothing will stop us.

don't you think that's like, exactly where this epic tale is taking us? after all, in all the stories there's the hero who magically vanquishes the others, banishes winter, etc, so why would this not be how grrm's tale ends? and who else would kill the others?

I'd rather see something like, "Oh shit, the Children of the Forrest are actually against humanity and control The Others." Then see them wrestle control of one or more dragons, then humanity has to save itself from all.

I'm not going to stop you.

What should make me stop reading is some "Bobby in the shower" event.

Right now I feel like, probably nothing. But after I read it, many and more things would make me burn this series. Should Stannis win the Iron THrone, for instance, I believe it would be just fair for me to sacrifice all the seven books to the Lord of Light...

Probably nothing. I've stopped reading only 2 book until now I think. I just have to know the end of things, especially the end of such an unexpected series like ASOIAF!

Nothing. But some things that may make me ragequit for a while are:

-Any of the Lannister siblings being Targ bastards

-Tyrion become a dragon rider

-Tyrion becoming king

-Tyrion becoming Lord of Casterly Rock

I think Tyrion's character is a mini self insert for GRRM sometimes.

What's wrong with Tyrion getting his birth right and quiet happy ending? I mean, I don't want him to sit on the IT but he deserves something good in the end.
