This is a positive nitpicking thread. Every other thread is currently being used for nitpicking, but not this one.

Well damn he was asking a legit question. Though one I cannot answer.

Anyways!

I loved the bit between Walder and Roose. I'm always glad when we get to follow characters who don't have a POV in the books, and it gives us a direct peep of what happened after the RW. Walder is such an ass. And so is Mrs. Norris.

The Ramsay reveal. Out of all the Ramsay and Theon scenes this season this is the ONLY one I liked (though I did feel it got a little torture porn-ish when Ramsay was rubbing Theon's neck or whatever).

The Greyjoys. LOVED this scene. When Yara gave her little monologue with her and the men getting ready to sail, it reminded me so much of s1ep10 when Jeor gave his monologue and his men were getting ready to go beyond the wall. I loved how she showed her little brother love where their father would not and could not care less. At first I didn't care for the actress for Yara (because she is SO different from the book description) but I really could not imagine anyone else playing that role now. She is perfect for it.

As illogical as it was, the Ygritte shooting Jon with arrows bit was funny!

Maester Aemon!

The fact that the Hound took Arya. I love that he dragged her right out of the Twins, when it did not benefit him in the least, and he totally could have let her run right into her death. And smart for grabbing a Frey flag when trying to head out of there!

Slap me with a spoon, but I actually liked the bit with Shae (and I normally can't stand any scene with her, like the rest of you!)... I think that scene basically helps set up what is to come next season. Because now she is thinking that Tyrion sent Varys to send her away.

Arya was just perfect. I also loved the hound eating in the background like he just doesn't care. That was hilarious.

Roose Bolton and Walder Frey. Especially Roose, he is perfect is every way this season. Forever Young! (personally I would have given one of them a nomination for the guest actor Emmy)

I loved the scene with Aemon. Gilly and Sam are amazing well acted, as well as Aemon.

The Roose Bolton/Walder Frey scene was a nice addition. Two treacherous bastards gloating over the spoils of a deplorable act...this could have EASILY ventured into almost cartoon-like supervillainy of the twirling mustache sort. Thankfully it didn't, and went a long way toward establishing just how broken Houses Tully and Stark currently stand.

Arya finally taking her first steps into becoming a cold blooded killer. Little gangster she is, Arya shanked seven shades of shit out of that Frey man-at-arms.

The closing scene with Dany being accepted at Yunkai's savior felt a little forced...HOWEVER, I definitely appreciated the artistic value of that final shot...beautiful cinematography. After The Red Wedding, the mutilation of Robb Stark and Greywind's corpses, Theon's dick-in-a-box and Ygritte shooting Jon Snow with arrows on his way back to Castle Black, the season needed SOME positive note to go out on.

Hodor is always amusing and Arya continues to amaze. 2 little things i also enjoyed massively were Joffrey smiling like an idiot and Tyrion commenting: "What's the matter? You killed a puppy today? " or something like that. And although they are telling Stannis' story all kinds of wrong, Davos is becoming one of my favorite characters in a hurry. Him explaining to Gendry how to evade the goldcloaks and how to row like it is the easiest thing on the planet, while Gendry has no clue whatsoever, was really well done.

Davos: "You can swim, right?"

Gendry: "No."

Davos: "..... better stay in the boat then"

By the way, do you guys realize that it's now been two episode in a row without any nudity at all? Maybe the HBO bosses have started to understand that if we want soft porn, there're other places to look. I wouldn't mind if we never saw any of it from here on out.

This season has been quite light on nudity compared to previous seasons. I think it's definitely a positive development.

I absolutely loved the Ramsay scene! How it slides from the Frey/Bolton scene with the voice of Roose, just great. Also, I quite enjoyed being sure of what happened when the ironborn left Winterfell... and how the ended.

Ramsay is just one of my favorite character. The acting is amazing. I love all the little things happening on his face and how his voice always seem to quiver. He's a very unstable thing and I love to see him going from smiling to being furious, and so on.

The physical contact with Theon really brought something, like showing how he considers him to be his thing.

Roose Bolton is a great character. His facial expressions are very nice. Gotta love his pinched smile.

The small council scene is, as usual, awesome. I was wriggling on my chair all along!

The look on Cersei's face as she realized she has no control and Jeoffrey is digging his own grave.

One good thing about killing the "good guys" is once there are only the bad guys left, they get at eachother's throat and I love it. Balon reading the letter from Ramsay really sounded like "Vilain's fight coming!" and I can't wait to see that happening...

Can anyone explain why it took so long for Melisandre to see the White Walker threat? More importantly, how did this somehow slip past the all powerful lord of light? Seems kind of hard to swallow that she never knew this and now Stannis is suddenly willing to throw away his quest for the throne and head up north to fight zombies. Is there an explanation or is this just a plot hole (no spoilers please)?

Go to the Nitpick without repercussion thread.

Walder and Roose was so deliciously evil! I rewatched that scene so many times. I also love how Roose has a similarly creepy smile to Ramsay.

Roose smile >>>>> Ramsey smile. If you read a lot of fantasy a comon line is "X smiled but the smile did not reach his eyes". Thats exactly what Roose's smile looked like to me,

The dick in a box scene is an improvement over the scraps of skin sent in the novels. I could see it coming anyway, but I was still glad they actually did it. In my opinion, Martin has played it far too coy regarding Theon's emasculation in ADwD. The Scene between Roose and Walder was fantastic. I like that they had the balls to show Robbwind, but think there's better angles they could have shown it from, because first time round it just looks like a wolf's head on a stick. The odd buddy-like relationship between Sandor and Arya (though neither would admit they're becoming friends) was spot on, and it's nice to see it confirmed that it was Ygritte who shot Jon. In ASoS it's more of less obvious it was Ygritte who shot him, as an obligation for his betrayal, but she was conflicted about killing him and therefore aimed at his leg.

I liked it when Sam met Bran. He was so matter of fact- "You're Jon's brother? Then you're my brother too." It's like in season 1 when Jon asks, "Why is my name Snow" and Sam says so matter of fact, "Because you're a bastard." It's the tone in the voice that makes him very genuine.
