TWoW Prologue Info

Due to the high mortality rate of Prologue POVs, I think it will be one of the Lannister men escorting Jeyne, her family and Edmure to the Westerlands just before the BwB comes upon them.

I expect to see Sybell Spicer to be hanging from a tree somewhere after that.

Thanks for the info.

Agreed.

And thanks for the heads up OP!

Is it just me or does anyone else not really care about getting more details on TWoW? Don't get me wrong, I want the book as much as the next man but what's the point of having all these sample chapters (never read them) and new info when it might still be years before the release of the actual thing. I feel like George is breaking the fourth wall by giving us the updates as he writes, especially considering that things might still change (as supposedly happened with ADwD sample chapters).

I understand that George needs to throw his pestering fans a bone to chew on now and again to get them off his back. It's a good strategy to keep people happy and hopeful since he's nowhere near finishing the actual book but I don't want to read excerpts or know what is going to happen beforehand (not that I'm saying anyone is forcing me to). Vague info is fine and would get me excited for the book but only once the release date is announced and not at the time when I am not even sure if the book will ever see the light of the day. With that rate, George might just give us the bullet point version of what he intends to have in the books instead of bothering to write them.

Didn't mean this as a rant. I am not really mad at George (or think that he should be chained to his desk). Someone probably asked him a question and he kindly answered and saying that Jeyne will be in the prologue is only a very minor spoiler. I just find this idea of having information years beforehand, especially being able to read multiple sample chapters, somewhat bizarre.

I don't think his end is all that contrived. I think he's just a guy that likes to talk and he gets a lot of questions, and the 2 add up to little things like this. The advanced chapters are another issue, and it can be read as bone-throwing, fire-stoking or just a life-long dork sympathizing with his fanbase.

I can't see how the BwB would be involved between Riverrun and CR. They're waiting for Brienne to bring Jaime aren't they? And I didn't think they would be on the River Road south-west from Riverrun.

I'm curious. As others have stated, the prologues usually have strange things going on and at least one death, usually of the POV. If it is at Casterly Rock, I can't even begin to think what might cause a ruckus there, unless it's Jeyne herself going crazy and killing Lannisters (unlikely as that seems).

Interesting.

I'm curious if they completely cut the Greyjoys from Season 5. When they announced the new cast there was no mention of who was playing Vic, Euron, or Aeron. But it was mainly Dornish characters cast so I think they only announced the Dornish characters.

You're absolutely right.

Great news about Doran's casting. He's a great actor.

This and the announcement of

Alexander Siggid

were the only good things we got from CC.

Yeah I am 100% in favor of this casting announcement. Worried about everything else...but yay for this!

It is my speculation that when Daario captured the 93 ships, these were meant to replace Victorion Greyjoy on the show, because he represents a number between 50-100 ships. Kind of shitty, if you ask me, but I guess they figured it'd be too difficult to shoot on water for so long with Victorion.
