  1. Daeron was a poor boy who was repeatedly cheated out of justice. By the lord who sent him to the Wall and by Arya Stark who, without mercy, took his life.
  2. The plot is not done with Jon Snow but he will have a different kind of existence from this point going forward. He will still be able to act in the world of the living through Ghost and communicate to the rest of the pack through Bran.
  3. Jon died from loss of blood. At least one of the daggers pierced an artery. He lost consciousness immediately. Reduction in body temperature would follow. The latter is what Bran saw.
  4. The three dragons we know and love were born on the Dothraki Sea from eggs of an unknown age and source. Illyrio has no need to tell a lie. I believe they came from Asshai and are very old. They were reborn when Daenerys was reborn through the fire. She became Azor Ahai and the dragons came back from extinction. Quicksilver came from an egg laid and hatched on Dragonstone. It's not the same thing. The Targaryen dragons could have become weaker just as the Targaryens themselves were weaker. In strength of mind and character. Daenerys, the dragons, and the Targaryen line were all reborn on the Dothraki Sea.
  5. That would be stooping low for the queen. That moment of indiscretion could end with the both of their heads rolling into a wicker basket. She was not like that. Alaric was an older man with all that lust behind him years ago. Viagra would not come into the market for another 10K years.
  6. Hoster was a nasty lord. Consider this could be karma. He betrayed King Aerys to increase his status. His house is paying the price if the Stark, Baratheon, and Tully families were conspiring against the Targaryens prior to Robert's rebellion. This illness was then inherited by Catelyn and on down to her children.
  7. Manderly is wealthy by the standards of the North. Boltons, Dustins, Ryswells, and Starks are much less so than their Southern counterparts. The Starks would be poor compared to the Tyrells.
  8. The Lannisters deserve it. Burn Casterly Rock, but not before taking the gold.
  9. Or the Freys will find Nymeria and add another fur to Lord Walder's collection. I expect he already has Greywind hanging among the tapestries. They do not deserve to lose the Twins. The Starks were destructive rebels who were causing too much loses of lives and property. Robb was dirty from the very beginning even before he betrayed Lord Walder.
  10. Robert Baratheon should receive most of the "credit" for the most casualties. His incompetence brought Westeros to its lowest point in history. He inherited a very rich treasury from King Aerys Targaryen and squandered away. Robert and his lackeys, Jon Arryn and Ned Stark squandered the Targaryen treasures. The Baratheons quarreled among themselves over the right to rule. Jon Arryn and Ned Stark for enabling Robert to stay on the throne despite the damage the big boy was causing. Stannis and Renly Baratheon Jon Snow for destroying the ancient order which protected Westeros from the Others. Jon will do much more harm when he helps the Others cross under the Wall to Westeros.
  11. Arya is slowly losing her sanity and maybe that is punishment enough for killing Daeron and the insurance agent. Arya will be guilty of more murders in the coming books. Not even insanity is adequate punishment for those crimes.
  12. I am working on a theory about the existence of an ancient race of Gods who ruled during the time before recorded history. At least before history as recorded by the maesters. This race taught the ancient ancestors of the Valyrians what they knew about Dragons. They built Asshai and were the founders of The Great Empire of the Dawn. This race survives today and Daenerys comes from that race. She comes from the ruling line, the Amethyst Empress, of the race. The family ruled over the other families who in turn ruled over the primitive humanoid species. The man who committed the betrayal and usurped the throne would later become the Redstone emperor. His bloodline was punished and had to scatter. At least one of its descendants made it to the western North and were influential with the primitive tribes of the First Men. I believe this person was the ancestor of the white-haired woman who was present during the blood sacrifice in Bran's visions. They bred with the very primitive tribal leader of the First Men and the Starks carry some of the tainted blood of the Redstone emperor. Somewhere in the Winterfell crypts is the black meteor.
  13. Martin is setting the stage for a fatal confrontation between Arya and Walder. At least a few of the Freys will be murdered but I would like to hope for an end to Arya too. It is only fair that Arya dies too. Walder wanted revenge. Arya wanted revenge. It is not so different. If Walder has to die so should Arya.
  14. Jon is Mance Rayder's bastard. Reincarnation happens in the world of ice and fire. The wildling king known as Mance is the reincarnation of Bael.
  15. This scene has political importance in future dealings with the Starks. Nutcases like Jon and Arya will demand the deaths of the Freys. I don't think Dany will agree to the murder of innocents. This is the wedge which will push the Starks to open the Wall and let the Others through. They will choose destruction rather than submit because their request for revenge got denied. Dany is the best, Aegon second best, chance for the Freys to receive a just trial.
  16. Robert was afraid of the Dothraki. Robert was an incompetent ruler but he knew weaponry and battle. If he feared the Dothraki then it is proof that if they had crossed the Narrow Sea, the Baratheon reign would end very quickly. He knew many of the nobles would support King Viserys III if for no other reason because he was the true Targaryen king and the Iron throne belonged to him.
  17. The men were her ancestors. The swords were Lightbringer for that person. Dany's weapon will be the most powerful because she has three dragons. All the men had were swords. The Maiden Made of Light, the sun personified, has returned to the world to push the Others and the Starks back to the land of always winter.
  18. Frey destruction is not deserved. Perhaps for the few who were directly involved. The Starks broke their oath to Walder. The Starks deserved punishment. Specifically, Robb deserved punishment.
  19. Very good. Yes silver is harmful to the weirwolves-weirstarks.
  20. The Silver Queen versus the weirwolves is one of A Song of Ice and Fire's motifs. Silver is the one element which reliably kills werewolves. It follows and reinforces the more obvious theme of Fire and Ice battling each other. Opposing elements, opposing families, fighting each other. Daenerys Targaryen rides the Silver horse, has silver-blonde hair. She is the Silver Lady in the early pages of A Game of Thrones. Roose Bolton betrayed Robb Stark for silver. Silver will be the downfall of the Starks. Weirwood is the antagonistic elemental to the dragons. Since the Valyrians ruled the western end of Essos it is understandable why they would cut down all of those weirwoods. Humans relocated to Westeros and felled the weirwoods. The Starks are slowly accepting their primitive, brutal history. In my opinion, the Starks will be Direwolves in the end. DW are the more primitive of the wolves.
  21. What are your personal favorite theories? My favorite is the one I wrote about many times. Daenerys is Azor Ahai Reborn. Drogo, Viserys, and Rhaego are reincarnated and became Daenerys' three dragons. Daenerys has the real king's blood and she walked into the fire and came back out. True king's blood is not consumed by fire. Tyrion will take Jaime's side and they will fight the Starks one last time. Jaime will confront Bran and it will be fatal for one of them. I am sure it will be Jaime who loses his life.
  22. Winter has come. The productivity of agriculture throughout Westeros will be severely reduced. The only source of food will come by sea from Essos. I don't agree with your opinion. Blocking the sea is enough to starve King's Landing because of the reduced capacity of the land to produce food. It can happen if Arya gets angry enough to send the inhabitants of the city to their graves. Though I think you may be right that the whole of city will not explode. The major parts but places like Flea Bottom and the like will not explode. The danger is the spread of fire.
  23. She regards Daenerys with reverence. Catholics want to touch the pope if they can. The slaves reach out to touch Mhysa. Quaithe and the Targaryens have been waiting for Dany for a long time.
  24. Daenerys will go to Westeros towards the conclusion of the story. In the last book. She will know what to expect before leaving Essos and she will bring a strong military. Which will have the dragons, Unsullied, Dothraki Khalasars, Ironborn, Sellsword Companies, and soldiers in training who will follow their Mhysa to Westeros. Jorah, Victarion, Greyworm, Belwas, and Barristan will be on this trip. Skahaz and his Brazen Beasts will stay in Meereen to keep the peace. The place of landing will be important. Do they circle the planet and make their way to Casterly Rock like Quaithe implied they should? I don't think so. Casterly Rock is too far from King's Landing. The march will be long and harsh because of winter conditions. White Harbor will be frozen and unavailable to handle large ships. Dorne is a choice but it will mean a long march to King's Landing. Oldtown is too far from King's Landing. Dragonstone is a good choice as the first location from which to build a base. From there they could block sea traffic and starve King's Landing. The Stepstones will be the best if the sea levels were to drop. It will mean a slower travel but they can use the small islands to relay food, weapons, and supplies from Essos. They can stop before reaching Sunspear and work their way up the south eastern coast towards King's Landing. Seafood will be plenty from the seas. The dragons will have plenty of food to choose from. Grass and hay for the horses can be obtained from the coastal lands or brought from Essos. I don't think they will attack King's Landing immediately unless it is already overtaken by wights or Arya got there first and lighted the wildfire. In that case there will be very little left of the capital city and its people. The Empress will choose to avoid costly battles. There will be negotiations with the houses of Dorne, Stormlands, Crownlands and the Reach to avoid costly battles. The Battle of The Neck will have Daenerys's army and her new allies battling the Bran-controlled wights, the Others, and Jon's wildlings.
