  1. Imprison Jon Arryn, and demand Tywin or Jon's a gonna.....but House Yronwood is concerning, they may or may not be loyal at the time. Probably I'll send Oberyn to Essos and bring Viserys and Dany to Dorne, maybe Water Gardens. Let the King try and cross the desert.
  2. My question is, did the Watch seal the gates with ice and rock, like propoesd at Castke Black? If so, now Jon has manned some now.....can they not go ranging, just walk the wall?
  3. For some reason I expected this thread to be about Stannis taking the fortress after Roberts Rebllion lol
  4. No Jon con chapters? Just Arianne pov?
  5. Ser Bonifer Hasty, Meera Reed & Ser Archibald Yronwood
  6. I always wondered if there was a bounty hunter(presumably free riders, sellswords and hedge knights). It just makes sense to me in a land so vast that if a criminal fled a town or kingdom then rather than sending a posse after them, send a description for them to be brought to back to a Lord who has the right to pit and gallows.
  7. Jon Arryn = Hand Hoster Tully = Master of Ships(not sure who takes over when Hoster becomes ill, I like to think Ned would award on merit) Little finger = Master of Coin (I think in a battle of Jon(influenced by Lysa) Ned (influenced by Cat) and Petyrs "proven" track record he will get a place over Hosters concerns, especially if he has already taken ill) Varys = master of whispers, I imagine Ned getting rid of the position but if Jon arryn convinces hom to keep the role then Varys is best for the job. Robert Baratheon = Master of Laws, I think this is a terrible appointment but I believe as a leader of the rebellion he would be on the Small council...not sure if he will last until the time we begin the story. Oberyn Martell = Dornish seat, I like to think Ned would be more willing to make amends to Dorne. Barristan Selmy = Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. He would definitely keep him, as for keeping the Kingaguard he should but may abolish the 7 rule....although maybe he will be convinced as not to alienate the High septon. Viserys Targaryen = Lord of Dragonstone, this may be wishful thinking but Ned.....May do this.
  8. You would think renly would have a touch choice of choosing between Randyll Tarly, Matias Rowan, Paxton Redwyne, Garth Tyrell and Gorman Tyrell. As Reach Lords who seem capable of being on the council and weather he uses the positions as diplomacy.
  9. True, he could just kill her out of rage without trial
  10. Interesting point... ....but how I Interperet that, is not defneding the faith rules him out fro kingship just that the faith can arm themselves during his reign as he fails to fulfil the agreement.
  11. Hand of the King, Lord Unwin Peake, sent a 'Commander of the Royal Fleet' against the step stones. "King" Stannis Baratheon the 1st of his name, sent a 'Lord High Captain' to lead Stannis' Roayl Fleet at the battle of the Blackwater. I don't think leading naval assaults is a requirement of master of ships, I believe they can (not sure if it is if they want to or someone else eg HOTK appoints)
  12. I feel this was done intentionally by the author, Renly seems to be the better choice for King But Stannis seems to be the right choice(as in he is the legitimate heir to Robert, as he has only Bastard sons)which we as readers struggle to decide as both arguments have positive & negative points
  13. I think House Flint, House Brune and House Fossoway are closer to the new set up of House Baratheon. In terms they are separate branches and have their own lines to inherit, obviously in this case Renly had none...with no named heir either, in theory the matter of inheritance would go to the King, As it is a seat of a Lord Paramount- Hornwood & Rosby went to their leige lord. But it does look like House Peake ruled 3 castles through one line? Yet I still feel its three separate branches for House Baratheon.
  14. Ser Arthur Dayne of the Kingsguard defeated Prince Rhaegar Targaryen in the joust of the Tournament in Honour of Viserys Birth. Ser Barristan Selmy was champion of a tourney at Storms End, which Prince Rhaegar competed in....not sure if he was defeated or withdrew etc But jousting is dangerous so risky to do against crown prince
  15. I always thought, she would demand trial by combat and name Jaime. If she legally can argue against the king then I don't think the king will call anyone who could beat Jaime (Barristan?)
  16. I met some one the other day who's married to her mothers sisters son....having a healthy children with him.
  17. I thought they acted like he isn't dead or at least shifty which is the only reason I haven't ruled the theory out 100% because I fell like he is dead and should be dead by what's written, even in Arianne's preview chapters I think her thoughts about Quentyn make it better for my read that he is dead. But as I said I believe it is Arch who is acted suspicious to me.
  18. It might not of been a prophecy he read, it may of been a history book and decided it will be better if he was a martial Prince.
  19. Unsullied are trained in the way of 3 spears? Could one of the 3 be a long pike like spear?
  20. I agree, And I feel it is still happening, Miranda Royce knew lots of other gossip but the fact of "Arya Stark" marrying Ramsey Bolton doesn't seem to get to Sanda which would surely derail LF plan with "Alayne" in my opinion.....even though Jeyne Poole was in his care so probably he was involved in the fArya plan as well??
  21. I think definitely, Dorne won't be the same Dorne at the end of the story I feel.
  22. The way I read it was that they could attack tywin or try to relieve Riverrun but to that he needed to do it with out Tywin helping. So to do it quickly and without Tywin attacking they had to cross sharpish so I don't think he would of been better off.....unless he doesn't die by doing. Who knows (butterfly effect) Ned might survive and slavery is ended and the Others are defeated because of it.
  23. I've pondered this before, I've not came up with anything ground breaking but I always though it would either be any of the following or combination. 1. Great or Noble houses don't want to lower themselves to build a bridge for their income, I get this feeling by how they treat the upjumped freys and to an extent Lord Butterwell. 2. The Freys got the BEST/only place to be abke to build a bridge and roads in that part of the country. Not sure how they got their land in the first place? 3. The Freys have lands alongside the river banks rather than surrounding the twins. (If they did, why not build more bridges?)
