  1. How likely are they to instigate lockdowns again?
  2. This sounds a lot like chickenpox except contagious. Apparently there's a monkeypox vaccine that could be given post-exposure? If not, surprised there's no vaccine for this as it's a variant of smallpox.
  3. I preferred Conan when it was in New York (I loved the picture of the New York skyline in the background) and could completely indulge his wackiness due to being late night. I remember watching it almost every night from around 2002 to 2004 which is when the show was at its peak IMO.
  4. I imagine this Mpox is similar to the Ebola outbreak that broke out in the same region in 2013. They managed to contain that so hopefully they will this time.
  5. Am I imagining things or is Ukraine actually turning it around? People said they couldn't win this war.
  6. A lot of these actors in LOTR were unknowns or relatively unknown so they couldn't expect to be paid that much. Even Ian McKellen playing the most important role was not well known. However Peter Jackson sued New Line for screwing him so clearly they were up to dodgy stuff.
  7. Tides of Darkness followed by the expansion set, Beyond the Dark Portal, which is probably the 2nd hardest game I've played after X-Com 2. You can get it off GoG.com, along with Diablo 1. Both run fine and are still highly playable.
  8. I'm replaying Warcraft II for the 50th time, I replay it every few years. Amazing how playable it still is almost 30 years later. When I played it in my teens I really felt like I was fighting in an epic, globe-spanning war. The old technology actually helped cause your imagination filled in the gaps.
  9. The story about the Muse seems even more disturbing in light of this.
  10. I was finding it difficult at the beginning but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty easy for most of the game.
  11. Unlike with GoT, I'm not particularly bothered about whether House of the Dragon is faithful to the source material. Fire and Blood was not a story, it was a narration of events, leaving the writers with plenty of room to play around. And I think they've done a great job of fleshing out characters that were little more than plot points in the source material. I can see people having issues with Alicent's decision at the end but personally it felt natural to me, as in it didn't feel out of character. Her alienation from her sons has been set up throughout the series. Season 2 didn't move the story forward much, but the production value, the acting, the dialogue etc all makes it one of the best series on TV by country mile. It seemed to me people were loving it during the course of the season but suddenly turned against it after the finale.
  12. I just finished Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. The RPG aspect of the game was a bit boring, which is understandable considering it's just a vehicle for the Gwent-styled combat, which was addictive. Definitely one for people who couldn't get enough of Gwent in The Witcher 3.
  13. Gotta be honest, I enjoyed the episode.
  14. Of course everyone is responsible for every life they take in a war regardless of sides, but Netanyahu, as well as genociding Palestinians, is putting Israelis in peril by trying to start a war with about seven countries.
  15. So I see a bunch of white thugs are doing the very thing they accuse immigrants of doing.
  16. I hold Netanyahu responsible for every Israeli death that occurs as a result of this conflict with Iran.
  17. Well since we're making lonmger lists now I'm gonna say my top 5 are: Lord of the Rings Star Wars The Matrix Rocky The Big Lebowski
  18. It's generally considered much weaker than the first two but I still love it and would go so far as to say I prefer it to A New Hope. Sure the Ewoks are childish but the scenes with Luke, Vader and the Emperor are so good.
  19. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
  20. The IDF bombing campaign has posed a bigger threat to the hostages than Hamas, and families of the hostages have said so.
  21. This is what I wish Israel had done instead of invading Gaza. Negotiate a deal for the hostages, leave Gaza alone and focus on targeted assassinations on Hamas leaders with no civilian casualties. Of course I'm aware this introduces its own complications, but I think most people wouldn't have an issue with Israel going after the terrorist leaders as individuals. The reason many are reacting to the assassination negatively is because Israel has been genociding Gaza for ten months, and in light of that it's hard for people to celebrate any Israeli military achievement.
  22. Well I'm gobsmacked after that ending. I don't know what they're using to do the dragon sounds but bloody hell it's terrifiying.
  23. Bringing Downey Jr back feels like an act of desperation.
  24. I was so piss scared of the aliens I used to run away from the computer and hide every time you see the "you hear footsteps approaching" message appear.
  25. Glad to see Ripley get a lot of nominations; my favourite series of the year.
