  1. As an aside, I think the modern Tesla could be throwback marketing.
  2. English is a crazy mutt language:) It makes learning and speaking hard, but it grows and you can change a lot with your word choices…there are millions. We have consonant clusters for bite, short words for punch, Latin origin words for heft, Greek words for sophistication, all languages are fair game, and if it is a good word, it will be stolen, used and enjoyed!
  3. Texas is not a bastion of independent thought.
  4. @True Kannigt. fingers crossed, hoping for good things for you:)
  5. It’s probably been said, but if Sansa means apple, then could it not be after the apple of Discord? The apple is a prize.
  6. Why read the books at all? Just give us black and white summaries of the characters and we’ll skip it.
  7. The Reeds know their events, as if more literate. They are obviously more informed than Bran. I note other use of Reader, but maybe it is more than just a word for swamp dwellers. Perhaps reading makes you like a green seer, in terms of having many lives and the ability to access past, present and even future ( proception).
  8. Tyrion. Messed up with kind impulses, survival villain mode, mixed character with a terrible reputation, and could go fire and blood. He is probably not big on slaving at the moment. Yes , he could be very bad and with a dragon, too. He is a lot of fun to read because he is witty, clever, cynical, emotional, and hot blooded.
  9. Yes, indeed, Mark is a Roman name( Marcus) for the God Mars, but for others, it is one of the Gospel writers, and a name that means a forest for some people who are not Latinized.
  10. Do you think “ the Reeds” are readers?
  11. I haven’t come to terms with A Brightness Long Ago. Don’t want to say why, so enjoy the great things. No spoiling alerts go off in my head:)
  12. It’s a powerful book with a lot of good qualities. I’m still digesting it and I’m making progress:)
  13. He does perseverate, but the guy has more global problems, some of them magically induced. I believe that we are to understand that timing around has bad consequences.
  14. The real Livia was probably not as interesting!
  15. It seems Martin evokes Shakespeare or other classics, or even Mervyn Peake, ( or the Raven) or the Three Stooges. I like the discussion about Dany as a tragic hero. The red door is confusing to me, but when the idea that love, fire, desire, sex, destruction could be pitted against Ice, well there you have it.
  16. People do get repetitive stress syndrome from tending infants:( There are exercise splints or even tensor bandages for that before it is chronic, but maybe you are joking:) I used to get repetitive stress from keyboarding! Those computer games are much too fun.
  17. There is a treasure trove of Aviator gin commercials that feature Ryan Reynolds:) The gin is good, too, and the company was sold. Also, I raised hell by having a craft beer( one 5.2% beer) with my dinner and lunch…I was told about my sinfulness. I’m trying to gain weight.
  18. Do you mind saying where allies are included? Or regardless, I support any one who loves in a standard or non standard way, and has a non-binary approach to gender. I’m Cis straight but somewhat androgynous, which has gotten me an honorary L card! We joked about it but I was proud to be accepted. My friends also said specifically, that I did not belong in Texas:) ( don’t enjoy make up…my skin is great, thank you very much.)
