RhaenysBee
It's been decided. If I win the next race, she'll survive. If not... :devil:Bex, why are you Eowyn? Poor woman! Cough. Not that I don't have faith in your victory, my dear FoMN :D Is OK Rhae...we have string bikinis from the 70's, and thongs from 2000 on. WE WILL CONQUER! especially since priapism is a sign of vasodilation and possible brain damage. STAHP! Make the knowledge go AWAY! Here's the what's more likely game: that your bikini string gets torn on the beach or that you win a tttne race? :D :D
DreamSongs
Because First, when my oldest, ruling brother took me to play golf, I only played through the 4th hole. At the 4th hole was a horse pasture with retired ponies that wanted wanted apples, sugar cubes and petting. The 4th hole was my experience of being a princess and being Eowyn until the 18th hole when Darth Richard had to come and take me back home unless he wanted to get in trouble. I made him pay me to go back home :D

Gillio
Wow. I read this quickly and mis-read pens, seeing penis instead. For a second, I marveled at the unique fundraising idea. Damn. I must learn not to try to speed read. Morning/Afternoon/Evening all!Goodness, it took long enough to choose a pen!! So I wasn't going to post this here, but I am feeling really good at the moment :D I mentioned getting size 10 shorts last night. well, I have spent the majority of the past 12 years as a size 20. I am also (unofficially) no longer overweight! I have spent the majority of the past 20 years overweight! So here are the new shorts :DYou look great! How do they fit all that fabulous in such a tiny frame?need a hug :grouphug:Hello everyone. I am home for this weekend. It feels good to recharge and relax, but I already miss the people at the school a little. I will see them again at Sunday though. Happy birthday to everyone who has had their birthday without me noticing. And happy friday to all of you :grouphug:I'm glad school is going so well for you! Happy Friday :grouphug: .Well I'm just going to go Hot Patootie over there by myself Are we allowed to eat members of the Spamily? If so I'd like two portions please Never. She is not going to leave me up here. She may not know this yet, but its true *nods* Finally: *flies off into the distance* You know, when the movie came out was the first I'd heard of Meatloaf! NO MORE MEDSPEAK until I start my chemotherapy renewal in September. Lany, I've got to do more research into the paleo diet thing with my diabetes. I found out today (at TNCC) about a local coop that provides seasonal, locally-grown, organic veggies and fruit AND bread. Great incentive for me, Sis, and the parents to eat healthier! To my bro...yeah...if one/both pupils are dilated and fixed and the other sluggish OR both are sluggish....yeah. Brain injury. If decorticate posturing is present, there is damage to the spinal cord. If decerebrate posturing is present, you still have a reasonable chance to save a life. If they are flaccid...well, check for an advanced directive. The hardest thing I had to swallow with this trauma course is this...We always try for the best outcomes with each individual patient. We throw everything at them. But then a disaster strikes... Disaster changes everything that you know. You have to assign your resources towards the greater good. Which means that you have to make a decision...if a person is unlikely to survive, then you only provide comfort care and focus on trauma patients that can survive with an intervention. I don't like the idea of playing with chances. In my scenario today, I had to let a 4 yr old die while I saved a 73 yr old man. My instincts were to do everything I could for the child...not for the elderly gentleman. The reality was that child's brain had already herniated and the man just needed a patent airway to stabilize. Scary ass shit and thank you for letting me share and get that out of my system. I think each and every one of you is awesome! Special for KiD and his lady! Bexy, not everyone can do what you do. The world needs people like you :grouphug: Legacy II sounds more like a small-time adventure to me, as opposed to the galaxy-wide conflict of Legacy I. A lot of people find the latter more interesting. Also, judging by the Star Wars Del Rey Facebook page and the Jedi Council forums, the reboot killed a lot of interest among long-time readers. I've read more than one post from readers who swore off the EU altogether because it wasn't canon anymore. I don't really mind the Hobbits, nor Eowyn, but I get where you're coming from. Thanks for your opinion. I was wondering if the albino thing was too much. I think I'm still going with the female pirate angle though.ETA: Of all the damn tunes in the world, I'm addicted to this one :drunk:: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhfrTlFhDA4 I have known a couple of albino's they avoid the sun so much, i doubt it'd be a pirate's life for them. Maybe she's just obsessive about having "ladylike white skin" Hello all and goodnight!I'd post more but right now I'm an emotional wreck, nobody gives a damn and I'll end up saying shit I don't really wanna say. This thread was mentioned elsewhere so I came to check it outValar Morghulis ladies and lords, knights, squires and w.e Hello and welcomeSo....I had a strange dream last night. All I vaguely remember is that my biodad was there belittling my mom and I was sent to get more alcoholic beverages. I hunted around the bar to find the pumpkin brew in 8 oz cans that my oldest brother was hiding from me. When I returned, everyone was older and I was suddenly on a dance floor VERY HAPPY, but I could hear them talking about me...and they said 'Poor thing...if she only knew that with every dance came Death'. So I am of two minds in interpreting this dream...the Danse Macabre (All Men Must Die) or death=change. Sorry...I don't usually ask for this kind of advice, but this summer has been turbulent with change in all of my aspects. I would like to know what those that hear from me daily think :) The beginning is your former life, the dance is your present life and you are on the right path so - very happy. the last part i'm in 2 minds, yes valar morghulis but also, people will always talk and disparage and try to sound wise. Funny till I started typing, I didnt know what to say! You are right...sitting around and moping will won't change your life. But being here will. We are all friends and we care about each other. honeyed chicken
Happy Birthday Elgernon!!Looking forward to your con review. Did the twins go along? Lany, each time you post a picture of yourself you look more attractive than the time before. Here's hoping all that hotness translates into confidence, and the confidence in to a great job!Bex,Thanks.I'm glad we went. I'll feel better voting for having done so.CONGRATS FOR PASSING THE TRAUMA TEST!!!!I watched the third LOTR movie again today, my parents watched parts of it too. My mom thought the fight scenes lasted way too long and my dad called the ending "dreamy and cissy". His only comment during the scene where the Fellowship reunites was "that Sam has a funny face."(Still, I find it hard to disagree. Though I like the movies, the blatant use of cop-outs and deus ex machine throughout the movie severely annoys me. And don't get me started on The Hobbit. If it were up to me Gandalf would have stayed dead, Frodo and Sam would have died at Mt. Doom, and most of the other folks would have died at the Black Gate.) PJ did the best he could with what Tolkien gave him to work with. And Tolkien did the best he could with the readership he had to work with. The readerships he was writing for would have been shocked if he had killed all those characters you wanted killed most readers of his time would have been unhappy with him. "Realistic" fantasy was not a concept then - that has come down the pike fairly recently.Tolkien was really breaking ground with LOTR. There was nothing like it before. LOTR helped get fantasy to the point it's at now. ASOIAF and others all owe JRRT a huge debt for essentially creating the audience. And back to PJ, before he took over the LOTR project there was tremendous pessimism about the feasibility of bringing the story to screen at all. Past attempts had failed disastrously. I won't say I was giddy, quite, when I first saw Fellowship, but I was really happy with how well they had done in capturing Middle Earth and the spirit and look of the story. In the late 60's Harvard Lampoon did a LOTR spoof called Bored of the Rings. It was very silly, but they did use it to lampoon certain over the top aspects of the book. The eagles became essentially taxi cabs: Deus et Machina Express, they were called. I confess I laughed my head off at that book. It's a little embarrassing to look back at it now.I agree with the horrible ending. It was the worst ending ever. I hated it even back in the movies 11 years ago. I seriously didn't give a shit about the hobbits, especially not about Frodo and Bilbo (why isn't he dead already?!), let alone Sam and his kids. Tell me, FoMN, Would ANYBODY have survived LoTR if it were up to you? :lmao: No, they probably wouldn't. :PI know :P I meant the people who usually disagree with you :lol:And First, the Peter Jackson films are awful. The Lord of the Rings films were bad, the Hobbit was atrocious and I'm just sad that I can.never unsee it. I should have known how.bad it would be when they split a childrens book shorter than LOTR into a trilogy. A trilogy! And I love the ending of the Lord of the Rings books and don't find.it wishy washy at all. The films.don't get that across though, because according to them Frodo is fine and dandy and not sufferring PTSD at all, and there was nothing at all wrong withe Shire when the hobbits returned and Saruman and Grima Wormtongue are just shacked up together like little love bird in Orthanc jumping each others bones and the Ents will not die out because there are no Entwives and Arwen's decision to marry Aragorn won't leave her as a manic depressive who basically commits suicide after Aragorn dies and...*breathes*I need to calm down... Wow, you really took the changes to heart.Personally I have always give PJ a long leash, but I certainly understand how you feel. It's just one of those things I never thought to see in my life (a Red Sox championship; a black man getting elected to the White House; LOTR getting made successfully into a movie.)Even at age 11 I hated that everyone suddenly was up and said 'look, eagles! How very fortunate!'And, well, ummm... surely there would be SOME survivors, let's see... Éowyn would have lived, surely that counts for something?I didn't even consider most of these things... meaning that the films indeed didn't get the point across. The decision to make the Hobbit into a trilogy astounds me.The Battle of Minas Tirith is the highlight for me. I think they deserved that Oscar for Best Picture. But everything after that is disappointing.ETA: Question about writing:I need a pirate character but I don't want a stereotype. The character outline I just wrote is about a pirate who is a female albino. Would you consider this original or far-fetched? You really do need to read Bored of the Rings - maybe that'll fix it for you.I think the pirate character is perfect. Go fo it!Hello all and goodnight!I'd post more but right now I'm an emotional wreck, nobody gives a damn and I'll end up saying shit I don't really wanna say. This thread was mentioned elsewhere so I came to check it outValar Morghulis ladies and lords, knights, squires and w.e Nice to see you made it over here! And I have a real hard time understanding apathy. It all comes down to money and power and the more people pay attention to how they use both, the more careful government will be.
