It’s not so bad since it’s the desert and very low humidity but like this weekend we get what they call monsoons and then we have some humidity. I don’t like humidity. We have a pool that we use daily so that really helps. Slightly longer. My hair now just about reaches my shoulders (when I first cut it, it was slightly above that. It grows very fast). :o That must be like in hell. Here there is like 33°C and I sweat like crazy. It was also pretty humid today, maybe there will be a storm. A pool sounds great, at least you get full enjoyment of this! (Just don't forget sunscreen. ;) ) I want to go enjoy in the water some time too ... I hope I manage to get to see the sea this year. I mean it feels good not to sit in 33°C inside a building, but the switch between the inside and the outside the moment you step out/in is just unhealthy. I spend most of the time in the library, which is pleasantly cool, but then I step outside and it is very hot. I know a guy who works in Oman, doing tech stuff in the oil industry. He has to wear a thick jumper in the office, because the guys who come and go want the the air con as strong as possible.

honeyed chicken
After a few years away, I'm surprised to see so many familiar names - which is nice, actually. Good to see so many of you staying in touch here. Around our chicken coop, things have changed somewhat. The chickee and her bf have their own house. Mrs. Chicken got a new job a couple years ago and is much happier than she was in the old one. I will reach social security age this year but keep working as that increases benefits when I do stop. My brother just visited from his home in California and he just about hiked me to death. He's been riding his bike 40 miles, three or four times a week. Oh, sad news - we have no cats now. They both died of kidney failure, Friskey at 18 and Shadows at 17 years of age. I miss them both, but the house does smell better. Does rock Sniffer ever check in? We're fb friends, but I have not seen a post from him in forever.

It’s so hard when they’ve been part of the family for so long. I only have one left that is 17 and has kidney failure as well. He’s hanging on though. Congrats for Mrs. chicken! I havent seen sniffer but I’m rarely on here. I really do miss the old crew. I’m so glad you dropped in!

Sorry about the cats though. Are you planning on getting new kittens at some point? Or maybe a cute puppy? (Dog person alert!) Puppies are cuter anyway, it is known. Yeah, rocksniffer sometimes checks in and plays Pictionary. I’d suggest PMing him, he might get a notification and check it even if he’s off line. Well, kids, don’t ignore problems. They don’t go away, they just sharpen their teeth to bite you in the arse harder when the time comes. / Life lessons with Rhaenys

As far as I know, Sniffer was off the Internet deliberately for some time. But She Who Must Be Obeyed has a way of reaching him, I think.

Oh yeah, except that part, that is not so great. But think of it that way: if one has a person in bed to keep company, then one has a big body at the temperature between 36,5 and 37 °C that emits heat in bed, and I don't see anybody complaining about that. There are certain advantages to another person emitting heat in bed. And one is happy and willing to put up with the heat for those advantages. The same cannot be said about heat due to a crappy aircon, though... Well... one day I will live in a villa in the hills and have a pool. And a puppy. And a hawt husband to emit heat in my bed. I’m not sure conscientiousness is the word I would use to describe not procrastinating on getting the aircon checked. It’s more like common sense and proactivity. I don’t know anything about the US education system. As for the state’s role in taking care of citizens, it’s a whole other philosophical question. So is success. But I do agree about winter’s being more manageable.
