Worldcon is the annual World Science Fiction Convention and is the largest sci-fi and fantasy literary convention in the world. This year it will be will be held in Reno, Nevada, USA. August 17-21, 2011 (thus the con's name 'Renovation'). Worldcon is the location of the official BwB get-together each year. The main event is a con-suite party organized by the BwB in honor of George R.R. Martin. BwB members fly in from all over the world for a week of total awesomeness and geekery. Any and all are welcome. If you'd like to learn more, please see the main discussion thread for Renovation. LordMountainGoat has organized all the relevant details in the thread's opening post. That thread is designed for general con chatter and event planning.This thread is for letting us know you are coming or if you have to drop out - ONLY. It helps the planning committee get an idea of how much booze they need to buy and other sorts of budgetary business. Comments of 'Yay, you're coming!', while wonderful and heart warming, will be removed in order to keep the thread on track. Feel free to make posts of joy in the general Renovation thread. Please let us know if you are attending, maybe attending, or if you've changed your mind and won't make it. Please also tell us if you'll be having a +1 or +5 or whatever. (If you so desire, you may include your arrival and departure information. In the past this has been useful so that people can share rides and keep track of when peeps can be wrangled into hang-out sessions. I got bumped up to First Class for no extra miles on the way out to Reno. I've never flown first class before, so that's kinda cool. GRRM and I will very likely be doing a panel or two together and/or signing calendars while at Worldcon.The great Stego has invited me to hang out w/ the BwB. I'm stoked about it. If my schedule allows, please count me in. My wife Traci will be joining me in Reno for Friday night and Saturday night. Count me in for a +1 on those nights.Saturday night is the Hugo Awards Ceremony. I'm one of the five finalists for Best Professional Artist. We'll see how that goes!
