Don't know about how things get to this point, but after Dany gets the dragons to Westeros she'll keep them happy by feeding them the never-ending Freys.

And somethings going to explode at the Nightfort. We've heard so much about that place, and Patchface is heading there.

A few predictions:

Bran will discover Jon's parentage via the trees, and communicate this to Ghost (who Jon is in now).

But the question is -- will Bran be able to see them banging through the weirwood internet? Because then he would be like a tree-creeper. This would be awesome.

Sansa will kill Littlefinger and lead the Vale to war herself.

I think this is definitely viable. I'm convinced that all the Vale lords know exactly who she is, and knew from the first time we saw them in FFC. But I would add just one thing: that she will have the Blackfish on her side; she will need a good general.

Here is my theory about the Others, and I am basically seeing what you think, and where my flaws may lie, feel free to break it down and prove me wrong, I will not take offence

Ok, so we all want to know why the Others are back, and what clues could lead to it right? Brandon the Builder built the wall to protect us from them, correct? He also built Winterfell, and I am going to go out on a limb here and say that Winterfell was strategically located where it was as a second form of defence/failsafe for the wall.

Now hear me out.....

We know that the Winterfell castle and water are unusually warm in the winter considering the harsh cold.

We know that GRRM made a point to let us know that Winterfell's castle and walls are now colder then they normally would be(I think I read this anyways, if not then my theory is waaaaaay off)

We speculate that a dragon(stone??) could possible be the reason for the unlikely warmth in Winterfell. If not a dragon, it still is something magical that's focus is heat which would lead me to speculate that it would be useful against the Others.

so the coincidence that I picked up was that the Winterfell doesn't have that warmth like it's used to in the harsh tempature, which happens to be at the exact same time the Others are threatening. Out of 8000 years of warmth and no threat from the Others, the coincedence is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too great to not at least put up as a possibility that maybe that dragon is gone now.

Now, MAYBE, just maybe when Mance was in Winterfell, he learned this, and reported it to the Others, which gave them confidence to continue to keep on coming

Note that this last part is something i just thought of, and can see many holes as I'm typing it, but maybe it could spark some new thoughts in people anyways

let me know what you think

oh yeah, the reason Winterfell as a failsafe is that he built it around the dragon(or some other magic that gives off warmth which is the natural enemy of the Others)

I think your on to something actually... there is some secret in the lower levels of the crypts... the levels no one has walked in ages... then there is the vision Dany has about a flower growing in the wall of ice... another dragon?... in the North.

I assume this is actually very likely, as I stated in another thread. I'm not sure about the burning to ash bit, but something involving fire.

Yeah, it's probably more likely her dragon will show up at a time when a bunch of different khalasars have conveniently shown up (maybe the noise will draw him in?), and Dany will win them all over to her cause when they see the dragon. But I like the idea of Drogon (i.e. Drogo) burning down Vaes Dothrak, because as we learned with Viserys, you may not be able to shed blood there, but no blood is shed when you burn. So, it would all be totally legit, according to Dothraki law.

LOL that would be amusing... poor Bran, witnesses a lot of sex at his tender age.

I was more imagining Bran hearing Ned praying to the Winterfell tree, though. I suspect he would pour his heart out there, as he has no one to talk to about his secret.

Good point about the Vale lords - I'd actually not considered this, but it's quite likely given how much of the Tully look she has that many of the lords would recognize her even with her hair colored (and indeed, many people in the Vale saw her before she dyed it).

And IA, I would be very surprised if the Blackfish does not join Sansa's cause ultimately. However, I really want her to take care of Littlefinger herself. She deserves to stand on her own first, not be rescued by some big burly man. In any case, she represents LF's greatest weakness, so she has the greatest chance of taking him down, IMO.

I want Sansa to be able to double cross or out plot LF (you know, the old student becomes the master bit), but I really want it to be UnCat who drags him down to the seven hells.

Here's for the Others.

Does anyone believe that the Others deserve at least some logic/clarification behind their actions? I for one would like to see as to why they do what they do: raise dead, kill people, basically, being the naughty lot. And if we are dividing everything into Ice and Fire, why not Jon becoming proper Ice - leader of the Others!!! The Others are enigmatic, scary and fascinating beings. I just want to see some perspective to their actions, and nothing would show that perspective more than Jon becoming the Great Other. So, if we put this into a speculation:

- I would like to see Jon becoming the Other, (oJon) and bonding with their unknown goal. Since he perceived the Wall to be his (remember how whites were returning to the Wall because they knew that it was their station?), he will lead the Others against the NW, and defeat the black brotherhood in an epic battle. oJon will not stop there, but proceed South, spreading death and cold throughout the Seven Kingdoms (Martin mentioned everyone will be freezing in the next book) joined by wildlings who perceive him their leader now. In general, a lot will be revealed about the Others through oJon.

- Dany will obtain the whole of Khalazar all to herself at the dragon point, and will unite all small Khals into one big bad roaming nomadic menace. Meanwhile, the grip of her power to Slaver's Bay will dwindle irrespective of Baristan's efforts (he is just a warrior, not a scheming politician). So, Danny will bring all her force to strike the slavers anew. She will eventually succeed in subduing the lords of Esos and abolishing slavery. Dany will be able to maintain control of only one dragon, and will have to see her other two children lost.

- Victarion will reach the Slaver's Bay in Dany's absence, but will be killed by the horn in an attempt to bind dragons, while Tyrion will be clever enough to remember a certain old book he read about the dragons, and do the whole binding thing properly. So, Tyrion will become one head of the dragon.

- The FM agenda will be revealed in more details as Arya will be progressing through the ranks. She will become the fully blown FM and sent to Westeros to spy and assassinate. She will conclude her killings in KL by squaring it off with Cersei, and unGregor. She will abandon FM after that, and unite with her wolf pack to retaliate the aggression of the Others. Her pack will eventually maintain Riverlands safe, and create a hub of resistance against the threat.

- Sandor will be reborn as AA and will draw the fire sword by tempering it in the Little Bird. Yes, after her wolf died, Alane/Sansa has zero purpose in the whole story, other than being loved by Sandor. Her claim to the North and plans of Littlefinger are a pile of rubbish considering the gravity of the unfurling events. So, Sandor will master the fire. Hell, he will become the fire. Sandor and oJon will clash and battle for dominance, but none will prevail. Sandor's efforts will bring more fire mages to the Westeros, and jointly they will curb the advance of the Ice army.

- And this is when Dany and Tyrion appear on their dragons....

Well there is something definitely there, and chances are it has to do with hindering the Others from coming over or around. The coincidence is too great of the walls being cold and the Others on their way over. Maybe Old Nan was the keeper of it, whatever it may be? She does seem to know a heck of a lot of information for a nurse, no matter how old she is. Maester Aemon doesn't know as much as her, and his job is based on obtaining knowledge basically to sum it up in a few words. Was it after she died that the place seemed colder maybe?

Stannis is dead. Mel will become an Other after she realizes that they aren't impressed by her magic.

Tyrion will reunite with Sansa who realize that he wasn't all that bad and their vows will be renewed. He will vow to cut taxes in half and becomes popular as the king of Lannisport. They end up gracing the cover of People magazine fairly regularly as well as the tabloids who assert that Tyrion is having affairs, but it won't be true, he will be too comfortable in wedded bliss.

Brienne will get one hand cut off and she and Jamie will settle down together raising up a family. The kids will be ugly as she is, but they will love them anyway. Jaimie and Brienne are not able to be swords wielders any more, but will play piano together, doing great duo renditions of heart and soul, etc.

Cersei will be roasted at the stake for being a witch. Little Finger will be cut into pieces and fed to dogs. Tommen will sleep with the fishes. Reek will end up going quite mad, but harmlessly so, and married to a Wildling who will love him for his amazing, inane love poetry.

Myrcella, however, will live an idyllic life, contentedly teaching knitting at parks and rec centers.

Jon and Dany will be married after defeating the Others and will rule together from King's Landing, often having friends over for shishkabob and roasted marshmallows.

Bran will be king in the north and Arya, after killing all of her enemies, will start a chain of assassin franchise operations, under the guise of pizza parlors.

I think the Wall might fall as well, I remember Jon thinking, "If Mance's horn was just a feint, where is the true horn[of Joramun]?" GRRM will tie up that loose end later, when the horn blows and the Wall comes down. Through Bran we will probably learn more about the Others.

1. Dany will get a lot of Dothraki to follow her, then she allies with Vic but when she meets Euron she falls for him (yes, cos he is her type), and that is the way she reaches Westeros, where everyone already loves Aegon. she decides to slay the lie that aegon is not real so she chases him away, but rather than accepting her, The people will hate her even more, and even more convinced that she is indeed like her father. She will have assassination attepts against her 24/hours a day, but just like before she will survive all off them, and she won't suffer any hurt at all. But that is when the last betrayal will come the one for love. Arya will assassinate her (because she wants to kill all of Robrt's bastards, or the Usurper's dog) and will take her place. Then she will march and win the fight against the Others and that is when Queen Dany will be finally accepted.

hohoho....

2.Tyrion will be Dany's first Hand, but he will be strangled with the Hand necklace by one of the whores he raped and made miserable before. That is karma.

3. Her second hand will be her husband Euron who will be killed by Dany(Arya).

4. There will be no more Hands, but instead a small council that will be contain a member from all the houses.

5. Dany(Arya) will let the Nort and the Vale and Riverrun become a different kingdom. She will excuse Aegon and give him the Iron Throne. Then she disappears. Arya Stark will return to the North and will be chosen as the Queen of the North. Her husband will be Gendry.

6. The royal for the Southern Kingdom will be Queen Sansa who married Aegon. He will return from exile (caused by Dany).

7. LF will disappear. And no one will know what exactly happened to him. Some sais that maybe their goodhearted innocent sweet Queen had something to do with it but those are obviously just mean rumors.

8. Jon willl be forever unhappy and angsty. He will have a short relationship with Val, but she will eventually leave him because he bores her to death. She will marry Edmure Tully (his first wife died in childbirth). Jon will sulk and brood to no end, but eventually he becomes a superhero saves the world and he will die.

9. Stannis will become the 1000th Lord Commander to the NW.

10. Arianne will marry Wylass Tyrell and the Martells and the Tyrell will finally become allies.

11. Doran Martell will do nothing like always. He will still remain the head of the house, but since he never does or decides to do anything it won't make a difference storywise.

12. Jaime will help the BwB free Riverrun, go against the Twins. Help Sansa to escape and get her annulment about her marriage with Tyrion has his role in killing UnGregor with the Hound. Then he will be killed by Uncat for what he did to Bran.

13. Brienne will marry Ser Hyle (or Hayle???) and they will adopt Pod.

14. Tyrion will be the one who will strangle Cersei (when he learns Jaime helped Sansa to get the annulment, sort of to pay him back)

15. Sam will never loose weight.

Suddenly I only could thought of that many speculations.

Lol I really hope you are trolling because those predictions are pretty terrible, make no sense, and are all over the place

Tyrion will cunningly steal the dragon horn from Victarion and give it to Dany in return for a pledge of Casterly Rock. He also knows how to design dragon saddles as he based the design of Bran's saddle on them. He's also a goldmine of knowledge and political astuteness as Dany will come to realise and appreciate.

Dany will not appreciate Victarion's trying to magic her dragons away from her and the iron fleet will burn in dragonfire, sinking Euron's ambitions with it. Asha will contrive to get Theon back to the Iron Islands, call a new kingsmoot based on the fact that the first one wasn't valid without Theon's presence - and get elected herself this time. Damphair will speak against Euron, helping inadvertently to swing the election her way.

The Volantine fleet will go over to Dany. The galley slaves and slave sympathizers in the fleet will rise in her favour. Dany will leave a small holding force in Meereen under the governance of the Green Grace. It will suffice as the Harpy's sons by that time will be thoroughly cowed by the reappearance of Dany on dragonback along with new Dothraki allies. Dany will lead a two-pronged attack on the Nine Free Cities, infantry on the Volantine fleet, and Dothraki cavalry overland. She will sweep all before her, as slaves, sellswords, and the growing tiger faction harking back to the glory of Old Valyria rush to get on board. There will barely be any fighting.

The Iron Bank will back Dany, both bowing to fate and seeing in her the best chance of recovering their loans. Tyrion, Varys and Illyrio will help with negotiations.

Back in Westeros, Varys will continue to sow dissension between the Lannisters and Tyrells. It will not be hard as the Tyrells find themselves increasingly embarrassed by their Lannister allies after the Cersei debacle and now Kevan's death. They will wish to align themselves with the new strength of the faith, but there will be increasing pressure from the faith to declare Tommen an abomination born of incest thus presenting the Tyrells with a thorny problem. After Griff takes Storm's End and Dorne declares for the Targs, the Tyrells will see a way out and try to broker a marriage between Margaery and Griff in order to maintain their position at court as bloodlessly as possible. How Dany reacts to this new alignment of powers depends on what sort of understanding she develops with Griff. Naturally, he's her long lost kin, but will he be jealous and try to undermine her?

Jaime, as the new de facto head of House Lannister, will accept the need to bow out taking most of the remaining Lannister forces back to the Westerlands. However, he will find himself confronted with an even nastier situation with Cersei. Cersei's new champion Robert Strong aka UnGregor will, of course, easily beat any champion who fights against her in her trial, but her victory will be tainted when Strong's monstrous nature is revealed in the fight. Afterwards, she will find herself in a far more nightmarish trap since Strong is entirely Qyburn's creature and Qyburn will want them in his dungeon for experiments. Jaime may end up strangling her not in hate but as a mercy.

Meanwhile, in the North, Stannis is not dead but his forces and Bolton's both find winter is the greater enemy. Stannis has fake Arya, but Roose has Winterfell. The stalemate is broken when Littlefinger makes his move, revealing Sansa's true identity. Bolton will think he's reached an understanding with Littlefinger, allow Sansa escorted by a strong contingent of knights of the Vale to enter Winterfell - and be betrayed. Manderlys and Knights of the Vale will have slaughter Bolton's men and Roose himself in revenge for the Red Wedding. Stannis's northern allies will go over to Sansa, and Stannis will be forced to retreat again with a rump army - this time back to the Wall.

Jon is not dead. He will wake up in a bed protected by the faction of the Night's Watch loyal to him and the Wildlings. The anti-Jon faction will have run off to another castle. He will, of course, recognize fake Arya as Jeyne as soon as Stannis shows her to him, if Jeyne hasn't already broken down and told the truth. Desperation will have driven Stannis over the edge by now, he will start raving about his duty, lead a breakaway fanatic force north beyond the Wall against the Others despite anything Jon can do to stop him - and be massacred.

Arya will go to the Wall when she hears the news of Jon's death, and they will be reunited. They will talk beside a godswood where Bran will contact them and explain how to use their warging powers and what needs to be done in the fight against the Others. Arya will head south, find Nymeria and hunt Freys. Brienne will go to Winterfell when she hears that that's where Cat's daughters are. Sansa will tell Brienne about Littlefinger. Brienne will grab LF and take him south for a grisly reunion with Cat. Cat will expire after that for good, sparing Arya from having to see her.

Jon will send messages to Dany. Dany will fly dragons to the Wall to fight the Others. Bran will find out more about how to fight the Others. Sam will too and send ravens. Davos will return with Rickon only to find Stannis has snuffed it. Melisandre will impale herself on Lightbringer causing it to actually radiate heat. Big showdown battle with the Others. The End.

Jeyne wouldn't even have to break down and reveal herself to Stannis - Sansa would be able to do that, if we are to assume they would all meet up at Winterfell.

Interesting ideas throughout, though.

Alright, I'll take a crack at it:

1. The south: We pretty much already know that Aegon is going to take Storms End, and meet up with Arrianne, and through her, the Dornish. Depending on when/if the Dornishmen here about Daeni's treatment of Quentin Martele, they will either wait on Daenerys or declare for Aegon. IMO the latter is probably more likely, even with Arrianne's new caution. So Aegon will hold the stormlands and Dorn, and I think he'll end up collecting Auraine Waters and the fleet Sersei so conveniently built for him. The wild card here will be House Tyrel. Will the old enmity with the Dornish, or the new one with Sersei, predominate? My suspicion, actually, is that they'll stick with the bird in the hand, at least for now. But the Tyrels are in a bad position, potentially squeezed between Uron and Aegon. Up till now, things have been going pretty well for them, but I think TWOW will take the bloom off the rose. Sersei will not have a redemptive arc, and will in fact go progressively more crazy, embittered and alone. She may try to run with Tomen, or cut a deal with the High Cepton, but things are pretty much destined to continue to go badly for her. I actually think an escape attempt--possibly successful--is the most likely outcome, as it could further the story in some potentially interesting ways (plus, we've never yet had a POV in the west). I'll talk about the Maesters in a bit, notwithstanding their location in the south.

2. The Veil/river lands: I don't think the Harold Harding match is going to happen, or if it does, that it will end well. There hasn't yet been a faction that hasn't tried to marry Sansa to someone or other, without success, and I think Littlefinger is going to end up being no exception. I'm still curious to see what LF thinks his end game is, but I have a feeling it will all end badly for him. In the River lands, we'll hopefully freaking figure out what the word Brienne said was. I honestly have no idea what the purpose of UnCat is, but I hope it ends quickly. Emon Frey and his piece of paper aren't long for this world, and I have a feeling we're going to find out that Edmur Tully and his pregnant wife have slipped the net in the not-too-distant future. The Freys are pretty much toast; it's only a matter of time before the old man dies and the family starts fuding. Ironically, Bethany Rosby's kids will be the only ones to escape relatively unscathed, as Perwin will change his name to Rosby and pull his siblings in. I also suspect two of the teenagers we think are dead--Ranald Westerling and Tyrek Lannister--will turn out to be alive. Varys likely has Tyrek squirled away as the rightful heir to the Rock, and plans to bring him out when the time is right (and after something conveniently bad happens to Martin Lannister). I think Ranald somehow survived, and will get up to some nonsense; after rereading AFFC, the accounts of his death are pretty unpersuasive.

3. The North: This is the hardest to predict in some ways, and the easiest in others. I don't think Stannis is dead. In fact, I'm not even convinced the letter from Ramsey was actually from Ramsey. Jon is also either not dead, or will be resurrected. What would be awesome is if his body turned into a white, while he was warged into ghost, then it was put on the pyre by Melisandre, and he warged back into it and was somehow resurrected through the fire, thereby uniting "ice" and "fire" in one person, with the blue eyes of an other, but his own personality in tact (all be it a bit more wolflike and draconic at the same time). Cool, but alas, probably too convoluted to actually happen. Jon will somehow get resurrected, and will leave the wall to rally the north, and flee from the NW, led by Marsh. The wall will most likely fall, and Jon and the northmen will be forced back to the neck, where Howland Reid will tell Jon about his parentage. Davos will continue to be awesome, and will do awesome things on Skagos.

4. The East: ADWD definitely had the most boring Essos plot arc of any of the books, so hopefully TWOW will pick up the pace, and interesting things will happen. Daenerys will probably either have Dothraki adventures or go to Ashai (I kind of hope she won't do the latter, and we can find out about that mysterious land through Mel's flashbacks). Tyrion will successfully bring the Second Suns over to Myrine. Victarion will die-but-not-die blowing the dragon horn. He's being set up as Daeni's second husband, but I hope he doesn't stay so for long. Marwin will finally arrive in Myrine, and he and Tyrion will use their combined knowledge to try and figure out what to do about the dragons. By the end of the book, Daeni might--if we're very lucky--be heading for Westeros.

4. Maesters and Faceless Men: I actually think we'll find out that the FM and the Maesters have a common goal: the elimination of sorcery/the destruction of the remnents of Valeria. We know that the FM have no love for Old Valeria, for some very good reasons, and I suspect, based on the discussion of "giving the gift to the masters" in the chapter where Arya learns their origin story, it's not unreasonable to assume they may have actually played some sort of role in the Doom of Valeria. (side note: I think we're going to learn that you have to kill someone to make a sword of Valerian Steel, and that Lightbringer was the first such blade ever made). The implication from Marwin's discussion of the "gray sheep" is that the Maesters actually killed the last dragons. I would not be surprised if there isn't some sort of connection between the Faceless Men and the Citadel, which either Arya or Sam will discover. In the end, I think the FM will send Arya to kill Jon Snow, finally believing that she's the perfect loyal faceless servant of the many-faced god, and believing that Jon is the embodiment of everything they have hated since their founding (as a resurrected Targ). She won't do it.

5. End game: Daeni and Jon will save Westeros, but not rule it. Following the War of the Roses parallel, the scion of a legitimized basterd house--Aegon Blackfire--will sit the iron throne, married to a daughter of the north, Sansa Stark. I'm pretty sure that either Jon, Daeni or both will die. I like the idea of them co-ruling better, but I think Daenerys will understand, in the end, that her job isn't to rule Westeros but to save it. (BTW: I don't think the Sleigher of Lies prophecy has to do with Aegon at all; the "mummer's dragon" is, I think, the actual dragon puppet described to Sersei in AFFC, and the lie that she'll sleigh is the parentage of Sersei's children). The Baratheon bastards will be pardoned and at least some will be legitimized. We will learn that the Others and the Children of the Forest were the same people a long time ago, but split before the first men arrived. Bran's body will die, but he will somehow become the old gods or something. Rikkon or Arya will rule the north. Tyrion will be Aegon's hand, but not rule Casterly Rock. Jaime will kill Sersei, then take the black at the end of the books to defend the wall (possibly rebuilt by the sacrifice of Daeni, Jon or both).

Most of this is quite possibly wrong, but it was fun nonetheless. :)

I wish to interrupt to say that I absolutely love the term "tree-o-vision". However, the allusion to Bran "creeping along the tree network" makes me love "intreenet". The sense of Bran becoming an anachronistic hacker/ 'net stalker is just too delicious. Also, he would serve as a homage to Barbara (Batgirl) Gordon becoming Oracle. :D
