My sister thinks this season is the "worst one yet" because "nothing's happened". And... she's right. Everything is building up to the next two episodes and next season. Robb's story must look very strange to her, considering that he hasn't done anything of note all season. The same is true with other characters though: nothing happened in King's Landing until this episode, Stannis has only just started doing things, Theon hasn't done anything since episode 4, Bran hasn't done anything since episode 2, Jon hasn't done anything since episode 6, and Catelyn has had hardly any screentime whatsoever. I can't help but think that spreading ASoS over two seasons was a huge mistake. Personally I would have had the RW in episode 7, PW in episode 9 and Jaime's return to KL in episode 10, but it's too late for that I guess.

She seemed to enjoy this episode though, because there weren't any Robb, Jon or Theon scenes.

They had to spread ASOS into two seasons because they can't have one whole season of AFFC. The Red Viper vs The Mountain will be next season(a big treat for non-readers). Tyrion escaping, Sansa's rescue and The Willdings raid will all be next season. Non - readers are not going to enjoy 1 whole season of AFFC alone. The producers are definitely going to merge AFFC and ADWD.

When your friends who have been watching the show since the beginning don't know who Davos is, don't blame D&D. Blame your friends' mothers for smoking during the pregnancy, because there is no way someone can be that dumb otherwise.

Or blame D+D for showing one of the major characters only 3 times the entire series.

This... isn't really responding to my post.

I said that ASoS should not have been spread over 20 episodes because there simply isn't enough material. I made no mention of AFfC. However, I do think that season 4 should have been the last bits of ASoS (Jon at the Wall, Tyrion's trial and escape, Sansa in the Vale) and the first half of AFfC/ADwD.

Nothing has happened? We had at least the Dracarys scene, Jaime being maimed, LC Mormont being killed, the climb of the wall, the bear fight, and the GW. We are still 2 episodes away from the final and we know that there will be at least three big moments for Jon, Daenerys, and Robb. These events, alone, are equivalent to what happened in season 2. We have plenty of new characters that forced them to dedicate two episodes presenting them. For the next season, we will need a few more. So no, I do not agree with you.

This season has included some of the best scenes of the series. But some episodes have featured a heavy amount of filler scenes (episodes 6 and 7 particularly).

And there's certainly not enough material for next season. In King's Landing and at the Wall perhaps, but nowhere else.

Isn't this what's going to happen anyway? Nothing else major would be left in ASOS at the end of this season. I don't see them stretching the last quarter of ASOS over a whole season.

That's what I thought, but in interviews they keep repeating that it's "one book over two seasons". Bran's ADwD material will certainly be pushed forward. I thought Dany's would be too, but she can't leave Slaver's Bay until all the other characters have arrived.

That's rich, it's not like those people were just minding their own business, they were violently assaulting the city, would have put Tyrion's head on a spike, and raped and killed thousands for sport.

Keep in mind, though, that he does this to his own men as well. The show kept it simple by having a single empty ship, but Book Tyrion sends his own men out as bait for Stannis's fleet, who knows how many of whom burn and drown and die because of it.

for certain characters they can.

example the remaining Kings Landing arc from ASOS can comfortably stretch over the entire season

the Wall is trickier but they will have to stretch so that Stannis arrives a the end of Season 4.

the Meeren conquest flashbacks from ADWD get put into Season 4.

the Greyjoy Kingsmoot from AFFC gets into season 4

and I believe that Reek at Moat Cailen will be in season 4.

Text from Unsullied Brother. Expands on some of my previous posts and has some new details.

" GoT thoughts...

- next ep is so the red wedding and it's so joffrey's/margaery's. I don't think Margaery would die BUT it would make sense with the song story last week and that line about being the most popular dead person in town. I'll say joffrey dies, and granny tyrell. i don't know how tho, maybe a big-ass mob that pretends to love the queen? i'll say that. i think that's been foreshadowed.

- if i don't find out in the next two episodes who has theon and why, i will rage.

- how the fuck is robb's war going? we kind of didn't hear about that.

- maybe the red wedding will be the one with the frey's daughter and robb would die. only because you hinted at robb dying when you said that if talisa is pregnant, bad things will probably happen. otherwise i wouldn't think it. and i still don't think it's this one because joff's wedding has been set up better AND because you said the rw is a game changer and if robb dies it's not a game changer, it's a lannisters-don't-have-as-much-opposition-anymore-er. and a stark death is just filling the status quo.

- if the red wedding happens because of those leeches, i'll be disappointed.

- i don't think arya will reunite with cat as planned by the hound

- have i made a joke yet about bran seeing the future through a raven and That's So Raven? because now i have

- tywin's gonna RAAAAGEEEE at tyrion

- i am still interested in jon and sam's stories but have nothing to say or predict

And if anyone calls me a "sweet summer child" tell them i say don't hate me because you ain't me."

You guys who are saying the show is missing the mark with certain characters are talking to the wrong show watchers.

It seems most of you hang out with folks who need to be spoon fed details and can't figure out main character names by season 3. That isn't the shows fault.

Don't judge who we watch the show with by the few sentences a week you hear about them. Some people are bad with names. I am bad with names too. I wouldn't know half of them if I didn't read the books. And a lot of them are weird sounding names to English speakers. Cool it with your self-righteously toned judgement.

How is Robb dying at the wedding not a game changer? Unless he thinks only Robb will die. I've seen that a lot and it excites me. So many people are not expecting the entire north rebellion to be crushed. And I bet you're kicking yourself for that Talisa comment.

He thinks only Robb. And I'm not kicking myself too much because whenever someone's happy on the show, I immediately get nervous for them and let it show even though I've read the books. I told him, "No matter who was pregnant, I would have said that. Like when Dany was pregnant and both of us were like oh haaaale no. Same thing." So I mean, I regret saying it a bit, because I have a habit of not SHUTTING THE FUCK UP even though I never outright spoil. But, at the same time, it's such a small comment and such an obvious thing in GoT world that I don't think it's a huuuuuge deal. Maybe I'm just trying to save myself some anger haha

But yeah, only Robb. Cat dying will send him into a fucking rage. I'll be surprised if he watches the finale right away. He might need to wait a little while. He loves her.

I guess people don't feel Robb has any shot of winning anything since the last time Tywin Lannister seemed at all worried was mid season 2. Another reason they should've stuck to the "Let's go back and recapture the North" story but oh well.

I think showing Robb and Cat planning the attack on CR next week will help some people get a sense of optimism just before the fall... I hope..
