Lost Umber
[*]"Human" Genetics does not work the same way. = These beings are not human.[*]The planet is not Earth. After some lengthy research I discovered that ASOIAF is a work of fiction within the fantasy genre. Ser Not Appearing
It is Earth set deep in the future and populated by humans.Evolution and unknown future cataclysmic events have changed both the appearance of Earth and somehow explains much of the variance in terms of technology and flora/fauna. The rest is assumed due to changes in the world's atmosphere that mutated human genetic code slightly, allowing for variances from our own genetics, allowing for inbreeding and strange "magical" controls of elements. Dr. Pepper
I believe it was a poster called Tommen's Cat who theorized that ASOIAF is simply George's summary of what he saw when he glimpsed into another dimension. So yeah, probably aliens.
Lost Umber
The OP needs to wait for the end of the series before jumping to any conclusions. After the Others take over Westeros the Targ ships will take all the humans to earth to populate our planet. KingInTheCave
"Human" Genetics does not work the same way. = These beings are not human. The planet is not Earth.Do you have any solid evidence of this? maybe the maps that the people drew at that time are not accurate. And we know that the continents on earth were all united in the past before they split. I'd say Westeros looks like the Americas to me.And what do you mean genetics doesn't work the same way?
