NBA's is definitely the best and even it has stupid elements like Kobe being the top vote getter despite being one of the worst players in basketball and Kyrie Irving making the team despite playing two weeks worth of games. It doesn't matter except for contract negotiations and just having that rough metric to point to how good a player was (i.e.: 12x All Star). But at least the NBA also provides a "First/Second/Third Team All NBA" which provides objective value. NFL has the "All-Pro" team at least, but let's have 2nd and 3rd team All Pro too.

Just need to divorce the silly exhibition for the fans that All-Star games are from objective measures of player worth. I mean as a kid I loved all types of All-Star games. No need to get rid of them. Just need to strip them of any type of meaning and that goes triple for MLB because seriously that remains the dumbest thing ever.

ETA: Ok, NFL has 2nd team All Pro. Cool. Somehow forgot that. But how about getting rid of FB as a spot on the All-Pro team? It's 2016, not 1976.

yeah, replace the FB with either a 3rd WR or TE, and reduce linebackers/linemen by 1 and have 5 d-backs

Fantasy football should do the same. Two RBs keeps fucking me over.

As you guys know, I have been fairly vocal about Dallas not drafting a QB in the first round this season, but the more and more I look at Carson Wentz, the more my mind is changing. He may be the perfect pick right now. He isn't ready for the NFL yet, but with Romo as QB, he really doesn't need to be. I still advocate for the Boys to bring in RGIII to backup Romo right away, but Wentz looks like a solid prospect at 6'6'' 235lbs, with an arm as good as anything else in the league.

They absolutely need to spend a 1st or 2nd pick on QB this year. Look at what the Packers did, they still had Favre but still used a 1st to draft Rodgers, gave him plenty of time to learn under a great QB and be ready physically and mentally to step into the role after a couple years.

I think it would be a great idea, hell they can probably trade down and get another 2nd and still get a decent 1st round QB project, or wait until the 2nd round and get one. Either way, good position to do it this year.

Rodgers was selected in the late first round though. I don't mind a miss there. When you draft in the top 5 though, I want a player that will have major impact. I am coming around on Wentz.

Yeah, that's also why i wouldn't mind trying a QB with their 2nd round or draft down in the 1st to get it. Wentz does look good, and with Romo's injury history and lack of playing durng pre-season and practice during the week, he would get a ton of experience in year 1.

Couldn't disagree more. The Cowboys have a team that could go deep in the playoffs with a couple of additions. If Joey Bosa is there and Dallas doesn't draft him and we pick a QB to sit on the bench for 3 years I will be absolutely pissed off. There are impact players worthy of a top 4 pick at DL, LB, and CB and Dallas needs all three of those positions now, not three years from now.

If they want a QB draft 2nd or 3rd round, not top 4 on a prospect pick, no effing way. Draft picks this high don't come along to teams as good as Dallas very often, need to get a home run out of it.

I believe it will be a 2nd round pick on a QB. 1st round they will either pick the BPA, or trade down a bit. But even Jones talked to Romo about drafting a QB in the first round. Hopefully he means in a trade down.

I'm hearing a lot of chatter about the possibility of the Raiders moving to Las Vegas. That sounds like a horrible idea on every level, outside of the chance that the stadium gets named Thunderdome.

You know, I think it works on more levels than it doesn't. I get the concerns regarding fixed games and the like, but just think of the spectacle. Build the stadium right on the strip, have a themed casino attached to it, could be so epic. Imagine a Superbowl IN VEGAS. Holy shit, that would be insane.

It would be like Wes Welker at the Kentucky Derby times 10!

But seriously, think about it. Players would always be on the strip, all sorts of other issues related to gambling, etc etc.

And then you'd have an even bigger problem. Opposing fans would flood that stadium. If you're the type of person who likes to go to an away game or two each year, imagine how you'd react when you see your team plays @Las Vegas.

Yeah, I agree that it might be more trouble than it's worth, but it is pretty fascinating.

So Megatron's really retiring. Welp, once again the dogshit Lions rob a future hall of famer of his desire to compete.

Well, he certainly doesn't need the money anymore, and he has been a wreck physically. I know it is funny to blame the Lions... because they are the Lions..., but I think that in his situation, he would have retired anywhere. His days of making 18-19 million a year are over.

Well, I don't think they would ever host a Super bowl in Vegas if they had a team. I believe there is a law preventing gambling on pro teams playing their game in Vegas? I have that in my head for some reason.

Calvin Johnson retiring. Not a shocker her in the Detroit area. He has been compared to Barry Sanders a lot. Very gifted almost transcendent players. But, lacking the fire of a "needs to win" competitor. Calvin seems like a great guy, never heard even a whisper of him doing anything wrong. That is something in the 24 hour media world we live in. Let's see what the Lions can do with the almost 20 million saved in cap room.
