  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, he's a giant pos who was made somehow... more...by the actor playing him.
  3. I'm really learning a lot from your questions. How to narrow it down, y'know. Congratulations about your win!
  4. We see Toranaga risk the lives of everyone in the party leaving Osaka, then leave Buntaro behind to die. His relationship with his son, who is desperate to impress him, is at best harsh and unforgiving, and his reaction to Nagakado's death is to use it to his advantage - his grief is exaggerated for this purpose. We're told he basically manipulated Mariko's father into his death. He orders Fuji, still grieving the loss of her husband and child, to become a consort to a strange foreigner. He watches his most loyal retainer commit suicide as a ploy. He ordered a loyal samurai to live as a peasant for years. He persecutes the villagers brutally for sabotaging the ship when he knows they didn't do it. And this is just the stuff that comes to mind.
  5. Not really, as in the premodern societies emperors themselves often had very limited influence. It all depended on how society functioned.
  6. Oof, I lost my way for a while there, but clicked in the end. I should have asked if it was valuable.
  7. Edited now. Was on phone and a work call What’s controversial about the actual scheme is that its deporting people whose claims havent been approved or rejected, and it’s forced. This guy’s claim was rejected, he volunteered and he’s getting £3k
  8. Nope his ship went down in an area literaly called shipbreaker bay..not suspect at all
  9. Can you spell burning toast, or are you just on your phone and not paying attention?
  10. Rappers releasing 'diss' tracks is just about the funniest thing ever. How utterly pathetic can someone be.
  11. Today
  12. Thisnguy apparently isn’t even part of the Rwanda scheme. He apparently from Rwanda, lost his application and asked to go back
  13. Ah, that should be helpful. Lemme think... Remember, 'not organic'!
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68932830 England sucks so bad we don't have to force them onto the plane, they are going voluntarily to Rwanda.
  15. Awww, I'd forgotten about these. But nope. This neither. So... 14. No, not Stannis' little obsidian objects he used for troop symbols on his Dragonstone map. 15. Not dragon egg shells. Okay, another hint... The character it used to belong to is dead and died several years ago the start of the story.
  16. If that's what you could eke out of my post, I don't know what to say. Individual acts of violence in war can't be controlled by any corporate puppeteer. But state policies pursued to prolong, mitigate or end conflicts (whatever is in their interest) is certainly within their capability. Lol, no one is ever against selling too much shit. You don't cut open the goose laying golden eggs. It's like fuel added to a fireplace not a boiler. I didn't think I'd have to explain this analogy. Explained. Like how less vague-er? Do I personally know any defence contractor/s raking in the big bucks out of the Pentagon conveniently (oo coincidence) having global geopolitics go their way? Or our ignorance of such an individual/corp any proof that such influencing isn't happening.
  17. Very long shot this, but it (kinda) fits: Stannis' little obsidian objects he used for troop symbols on his Dragonstone map?
  18. Nope. 1. Not a character. 2. Not a living thing. 3. Yes, a person can carry it. 4. Yes, it can fit in a pocket or sleeve. 5. No, it is not metal. 6. No, it is not fragile. 7. Yes, it exists in the current timeline. 8. No, it is not glass. 9. No, it does not have any kind of religious function or meaning. 10. Yes, it is made of stone. 11. No, it is not the dragonglass dagger Samwell used to kill the Other. 12. No, it is not Marwyn's glass candle. I guess I should give a hint? It used to belong to an important character. Let me know if the hint is too vague.
  19. i have never made myself beans on toast, i've eaten the kids leftovers and thought 'yum' but never actually made it for myself.
  20. The beekeeper is one of the best/worst trailers I've ever seen, it makes the Meg seem plausible (he really has identified his position in the industry hasn't he).
  21. For me, most pleasure for least effort/skill is baked beans on toast. Still a pleasure to eat after 45 years of having it semi-regularly.
  22. tonight i'm making the meal that gives me the most pleasure for the least skill/effort. chicken and bacon pasta pesto Put favourite pasta on to boil (i'm currenty into spirali) fry 3 rashers of bacon and 1 diced chicken breast (per person), add juice of half a lemon, add large teaspoon of store bought red and green pesto, hot sauce to the desired level, handful of green olives, tablespoon of creme fraiche, salt and black pepper, then add cooked pasta. Whole thing is on the plate in 10-12 mins.
