  1. So maybe their loyalty belonged to the leader and not necessarily his family.
  2. Incarceration is the best solution to the Arya problem. Insanity just makes Arya more dangerous. She needs isolation to prevent people from becoming her victims.
  3. If there is anything positive of note that the Starks accomplished it is the construction of Winterfell. Quite a feat in such a hellish location.
  4. The Stark bannermen are no more loyal than those from the other kingdoms. Greatjon had to be threatened by wolf to support Robb. Roose was never loyal. Barbrey hated the Starks.
  5. The stupidest Lannister is Jaime. He joins the KG for the wrong reasons, murders his king, cuckolds the usurper, and then tries to murder Peeping Bran.
  6. The spymaster was telling the truth as he knew it to poor Kevan. But Varys got fooled. The boy is a Blackfyre.
  7. Bran and Arya have different temperaments. Arya is just the type to react badly rather than calmly. Arya is already crazy. Bran might not succumb to the Tully madness. Arya already has snapped.
  8. That is giving the hungry wolf too much credit. Winterfell would melt like chocolate when the Valyrians attack with their dragons. The north has little value. Not worth the effort from the Dragonlords. Hungry wolf would soon become burned wolf.
  9. The Tyrells are Targaryen loyalists. Which means they did not start plotting until after the death of Aerys.
  10. Of Cat’s children, yes, it is Arya who seems to have succumbed to the mental illness. The inherited tendency and the shock of seeing Ned’s execution pushed Arya over the edge. Sansa and the others are in stressful conditions but as long as they are not pushed beyond their coping abilities they may escape the illness. Arya was pushed beyond her ability to cope and lost it.
  11. Does this universe go through cycles like the seasons. Are seasons the reflection of the greater cycle going on in GM’s universe? It sure looks that way. The pattern is pointing to Jon as the man who becomes the Nights King. The man who stopped being true to the Watch thereby causing its fall. The wall has to fall for the story to move towards climax and conclusion. Jon is the agent of this fall. The Starks tug at his heart and led him from his duties. The death of duty it was called by Aemon. He didn’t do it out of evil though. He did it out of weakness.
  12. Dany gets the praise and credit she deserves. She already is a much better ruler than Robert. She is definitely a better leader than Robb Stark and Jon Snow.
  13. Sansa has the inherited predisposition to madness as well but she may not live long enough for the problem to come up. If she kills Robert Arryn and gets caught it will be a fast trip down the mountain.
  14. Jon has already given himself to the dark. He is not coming back from that dark hell. He broke the vows of the Watch, murdered Slynt, and got the watch involved in a war with Ramsay. He is done. Dany is fighting the good fight to free millions of slaves. She is not and will not fall to the dark. Dany is the hero here. Jon is the villain.
  15. Jon is not going to be in position to lead again except maybe leading wights against man.
  16. Jon is consistently emotionally unbalanced. He always had a chip on his shoulder that was barely staying on.
  17. Tyrion and his humor are more annoying. Penny is just a very young woman who has had the worst luck in life. Penny is Tyrion’s chance for a normal life. He could build a life with Penny and leave the Lannisters, Starks, and Targaryens behind. She is his exit ramp to get off politics and war. He will choose to continue the game. Who do I want dead? It’s Jon. I don’t like him.
  18. Partly right. I don’t agree with the idea of Wayman marrying one of his girls to Jon. Rickon for sure. Even a crippled Bran is a good match. Jon is a different beast because Ramsay exposed Jon. It is now known that Jon refused to punish Mance Rayder, he sent the Wildlings to infiltrate the Bolton household, and it will also come out that Jon set up the Karstark girl to marry a Wildling. Wayman is a very dirty player and a cannibal but even he would not make Jon part of the family.
  19. Doran is not the only one. Some in the Martell family want to war directly with the Lannisters. Many in Dorne share that wish. The only one who wants a better policy is Ellaria.
  20. This is one way George Martin is writing a unique story. Powerful, mighty dragons are actually less savage compared to the direwolves. The dragons are way more intelligent and their long lifespans give them experience beyond direwolves.
  21. Arya herself is deserving of some sympathy. Her parents brought her south where she doesn’t belong and made enemies. Her life literally went south. But Arya deserves condemnation and permanent incarceration as well for her crimes.
  22. Yes, the Targaryens have bonds with their dragons but there has been no evidence that the dragons influence their humans. The Targaryens are the most important and most studied family in the story and we have seen no instances of Dragonriders becoming more savage because of the bond. Let’s take Rhaenys, Visenya, and Aegon for example. They were a lot less violent than the lords they conquered. The Targaryens were very measured and appropriate when they responded to threats and violence. The Starks and their wolves are another matter. Time and pages of the story have shown that the wolfbond cause the Starks to become more violent and more primal. The wolfbond is a mind bond as well as an emotional bond that travels in both directions. Rickon’s growing savageness and increasingly volatile moods is the perfect example.
  23. The Stark kids are fast becoming evil villains. Jon destabilized an institution that has stood for thousands of years to rescue his sister. Arya is already a crazed serial killer preying on people. Bran is a voyeuristic skinchanger. Daenerys and her three dragons are the Silver that will put those WeirStarks to the graves. At least push them to the other side of the wall.
  24. Willas is an unknown but he would make a good consort for Daenerys and bring House Tyrell to the Targaryen banner. The Tyrells were loyal to the Targaryens and that loyalty should transfer to Daenerys. Marriage is not the only way to bind the Tyrells. Daenerys could offer Wiilas the Office of Hand of the Queen. Generosity in the form of giving part of the Stormlands to the Tyrells would win their gratitude a second time.
