Okay having read this article I'm really not impressed with the answers from Sarah Hess.
After she just killed a large amount of women and children without remorse?
Okay, these comments are D+D levels of dumb. GRRM would be tearing his hair out at an answer like that.
Like I said, the writing on the show has been impeccable throughout the season, but now alarm bells are starting to ring.
I hope Ryan Condal reins these crazy people in before they ruin his show.
I think GRRM would take an answer like that and laugh as it was clearly a joke. It is truly amazing to me that a lot of people seem to be taking it seriously.

Again, another inconsistency. Don’t they remember their script or do they write scenes independent of one another.
Not really Aemond is a grown man it not surprising he would be considered heir at this point over a toddler.

George is saying 4 seasons on his blog and is also saying that Alicent does have 4 children they just didn’t have time to fit Dareon in this season.

I mean, Ned Stark was a perfectly fine father, in my very humble opinion.
Yes but Ned Stark’s father wasn’t drilling into his head day after day that his childrens step sister was going to murder his children. I am thinking they could have an effect on someone’s parenting.

Yeah, we needed an episode where Criston Cole's shift to evil/murder was dealt with and Ser Harwin starting his relationship with Rhaenyra.
They didn’t need a episode to establish Rhaenyra and Harwin they just needed a scene of them flirting with each other which they could have done since they showed them doing the “hey” dance together in the episode.

A lot of you probably won’t like this article, but it touches on some things that have been discussed here in the past, such as whether grimdark is still appealing, and how there can’t be any progress in terms of injustice because this story is a prequel.

Why wouldn’t we like it? It is just one person’s opinion. You either agree with it or you don’t. I don’t. And I also agree with others above that this writer does not seem to like prequels which is a fine. But the numbers this show is generating speak for themselves. The show is a big hit. Will if ever reach GOT season 8 numbers? Almost assuredly no but it doesn’t have to.

Technically, she lied when she said that Daemon never touched her. At least, that would be my verdict if I was a prosecutor.
It is a euphemism. A polite was of saying that Daemon didn’t take her virginity. This is why Alicent tells Viserys that she “swore to me that she still a maiden”.
(that being said she would have lied her ass off if Alicent asked I she effed anyone that night)

She’s acting from a place of fear. She’s all alone with no friends or family or anyone she can trust. The one person she thought she could trust, Rhaenyra, lied to her on her dead mother’s memory. Viserys is distant and brooding and mainly uses her to fulfill his own needs. Daemon is an unpredictable maniac. She can’t trust anyone, so she has to protect herself.
Rhaenyra didn’t lie though. She did not in fact lose her virginity to Daemon which is what Alicent accused of her doing. That is what she swore to on her dead mothers memory.
She just failed to mention that she lost her virginity to Christen Cole instead.

Doesn’t mean he couldn’t have arranged it. I don’t know, I didn’t read the book and I don’t care for this Rhea character at all (though let’s be fair, ugly or pretty, nice or insufferably rude, none of that makes her deserve whatever end she met in either version). I just wish I could understand what the show hoped to accomplish with this scene.
That Daemon is not a very nice guy and that now he is free to marry again?
-
I have read other forums and social media and I have literally seen no one outside of this forum that has come to the conclusion that Rhea was portrayed as a “bitch that had it coming”. This take just boggles my mind.

I am sure this is an unpopular opinion but that child actress playing Laena in episode 2 hopping on and riding the biggest dragon in Westeros would have looked absolutely ridiculous. If they did in fact shoot this scene I am glad they cut it.

She also told Emma in the first episode that she doesn't want to be a mother.
She was 14 and not the heir to the throne at that point. People change and circumstances change as they grow older.

The show wants us to believe that Rhaenyra is afraid of motherhood and dying in childbirth because of what happened to Aemma. That makes sense within the show canon. But the thing is, we know she’s going to have five kids in quick succession after getting married, with an attempt at a sixth. And because of last episode, we know that Rhaenyra is now aware of moon tea. Maybe the argument is just “well, she discovered she loved motherhood after all!” but it makes for a rather disjointed arc. Five children is a lot, especially when she already had an “heir and a spare” after Luke. If she was that afraid of dying in childbirth, she wouldn’t have gotten pregnant after that.
This last episode she expressed those fears with Daemon and he told her that she can’t live her life in fear or she may miss out on the good things in life or something to that effect. She heeds his advice and gets over it.

Yeah, I think this is a fair criticism for the entire show. Viserys, Daemon, Rhaenyra, Alicent, Otto. They all have certain reasons to not be, of course, but for the five primary people that rule a continent they are VERY unhappy.
Oh I don't know, Rhaenyra seemed quite happy last episode.

I mean George says it's happening and it's been in development since House of the Dragons.
No. George said it was was in development along with three other successor shows, none of which have been greenlit yet by HBO

#465 posts, take a guess how many are blind worship.
Emboldened. No such thing as that
I hate worship of any kind. Because it's irrational. Borderline fanatic fervent devotion. Xenophobic. Racist. ValyARYANS.
I don't hate the worshippers. Pity them. Tried to infuse rational thought. Gave up.
Good night, here at least

I'm too lazy to go embedding links of all the Godmother Queen devotees' posts in this thread here again. Certainly not for you. I have nothing to prove. Free world.
Indeed you are. And lets be real here and post saying anything positive about Dany is according to you "a god mother queen" post (whatever the hell that is) . in other words you are a troll.

No he is a troll. Any thread that mentions Dany is a "Dany worship" thread whatever the hell that is.

And danny thinking she is AA and then finding out she isn t would be completly in tone with her arc. Don't forget she thinks she is the last targ but everyone knows that isn't true. She probably isn't even the heir to the IT and when she gets to westeros the people will already be suporting a diferent targ (faegon).
Dany knows nothing about AA. In fact of all the contenders she is the only one who has never heard of the prophecy.
-
All I know is that if someone gave Dany a book to read and the passage she highlights describes how AAR killed a monster in an almost word to word way on how Jon killed a monster there would be no more debate and the Jon fans would tout it absolute proof.
Just sayin'
And one has to ask oneself why would GRRM even include that at all as what Jon actually reads is of no use to him whatsoever.

Well they did mention Riverrun and Highgarden last episode and I am pretty sure we will hear mentions of Winterfell and possible the Vale next episode, along with Storms End of course.
