Kudos to Rory McCann (possible book spoilers)

NCW interview:

The actor said he's been missing his castmates ("all of them"), and revealed which one of his co-stars he'd like to see have their own spinoff show.

"The Hound. The Hound would be a cool guy to follow," he said, referencing Sandor Clegane, played by Rory McCann.

Imagine what it's going to be like when they shoot Rory's comeback - it's going to be super hush-hush! And I can imagine fans here, on WiC, WatchersontheWall and in other places reporting and discussing whether they have seen him anywhere near the set in Belfast. It's going to be fun...

BTW, do we think he's lying when he says he doesn't know if he's coming back? He only said it on the latest interview I've seen, previously he said "I can't tell you" to the EW guy and "I'm glad to be in it... or was in it... Am I in it? I don't know..."

Aww, poor Nikolai, I'm all for helping him zip up, after a time. :leer:

I do love all the recognition that this past season has brought Rory, from castmates like NCW and from the public in general.

I definitely need to check out more of these ComiCon vids. I am loving Rory and Sandor more and more. The above posts are really encouraging, I just adore even reading about Rory. I can't overstate how much he's become one of the brightest spots for me on the show, even with how much they fuck up his story.

Near the end. Turner smacking Dormer's butt, Benioff pointing it out to Rory. The fuckedupedness of this show is all starting to make sense to me now. Maybe once he gets his story back, Sandor will have a little fun, too. Start at 2:40 (and by all means, watch it in HD). The first time all I saw was NCW!

Thanks and LOL I will be careful of the total NCW trance.

Could Sandor be one of those "familiar" faces around Sansa/in her storyline in season 5 that Sophie Turner teasingly mentioned in her new interview? Of course, that would mean Rory was lying when he said he didn't know where his character was or if he was coming back... but I wouldn't be surprised if he was lying. Even if he's not coming back at all in season 5, I think he probably does know. He said "I can't tell you" to the EW guy and then he said "I don't know..." in another interview...

Gwendoline Christie, "it's not over yet" sounds ominous:

"Rory McCann is an amazing actor and a very strong man, and that was a challenge - not just as actors, but as characters... I didn't just want it to be a fight, I wanted it to be a physical story that was being told.... It just looks beautiful and earthy and surreal and its a complex emotional scene - and it's not over yet."

Also, Rory said it was hard to film because he had to try hard not to hurt her, since he's bigger and stronger:

Remember, I'm fighting a girl, I'm a big 6'6" ex-lumberjack, and she's a lady, and she looks great in armor, but I'm a big strong guy, so I've got to look strong but not knock out a leading actress, so it was pretty challenging.

It could have also meant Brienne and Pod, but since having Rory come back would be both a show and book spoiler, pretty sure every effort will be made to keep it on the down low.under the radar.

I wonder if he will go back to GOT too. I looked up the new BBC show he's in, "Banished" and it's a seven episode show and he's way down on the cast list. Hmmm, makes me wonder.

I found some Banished Behind the Scenes stuff, looks like filming is done:

I would love it if he came back! Best scene in the finale. They kept it really close to the books by mentioning Sansa, Sandor's intense unhappiness with his life and Arya leaving him there. Arya taking his money was GOLD. I don't remember that exact part being in the story. somehow they kept the feeling but added their own flair for the characters. Rory McCann made me feel sad for Sandor all over again! Great acting!

As for Sophie Turner saying about familiar faces, that would make me happy if she's referring to him, as I've been wondering throughout the books if they would meet up again. I feel like there's a real emptiness to their lives since they parted and that they each hold the key to redeeming each others' spirits. But, from what GRRM has said in interviews, I don't think it's likely that he will go that route.

At this point I have to accept that everything in the new season of the tv show has the potential to spoil the storyline of the unwritten books.

What has GRRM said that makes you think so?
