The Bastard of Walton
So far the books have delivered some shocking plot points. Neds beheading & the Red Wedding jump to mind. What do you guys think are some plot points that could still happen & Shock you along the same lines. Plus something that would be Shocking, but has near Zero chance of happening. What would be the Most Shocking plot point that could still plausibly happen? For me it would be that Jon is actually dead & wont be coming back. What would be a plot point that surely cant happen? For me, Varys & Littlefinger have been working together all along. There master plan being to put a Blackfyre on the Throne & marry him to the heir to the North. Mad Madam Mim
Hodor is King of the Others and has been the mastermind behind the chaos in Westeros all along. Littlefinger and Varys are nothing compared to the manipulative genius of Hodor. On a more serious note, Ned's beheading and the red wedding are of course shocking, along with Bran being chucked out of a window, Jaime getting his hand hacked off. I guess I find Grrm's level of violence quite shocking so it would probably be a character that thought was "safe" getting mauled in a pretty brutal way that I would find shocking in the future. Ali Colak
Varys works for the Great other, and has been using illyrio and FAegon to so discord in the world. In the end, he will kill illyrio while confessing to him his true allegiance, just as he did to Kevan. I know its highly unlikely.
A Man Has Said
"For me it would be that Jon is actually dead & wont be coming back." Killing the presumed protagonist has already happened twice. Its shock value is wearing a little thin, I think.
sj4iy
Not sure if anything shocks me anymore. Plot point that can't possibly happen is Jon Snow really being dead. It's narrative suicide at this point.
JoeyBanana
Bolton defeating Stannis. Ramsay names one of his new dogs "Asha" (if you know what i mean), Theon gets flayed. Stannis dies, GNC gets crushed. Melisandre burns Jon for "King's blood". Arya dies during an assassination attempt, Cersei or Meryn Trant, for example. Dany loses the Dance of Dragons against Aegon, gets eaten by Rhaegal or Viserion. Dany executes Jorah when he comes back. Tyrion dies trying to mount a dragon, so does Victarion. Jaime gets hanged by LS or dies in trial by battle against Brienne. There's lots of stuff that can still happen. It would be more infuriating than shocking, though. At this point, we know what we're in for but could still get majorly pissed off at some deaths or fates we don't particularly approve of.
Northernmonkey
What would be a plot point that surely cant happen? For me, Varys & Littlefinger have been working together all along. There master plan being to put a Blackfyre on the Throne & marry him to the heir to the North. I don't think this is implausible at all, and I've actually considered it many a time. Lady Blizzardborn
Shocking but won't happen? Dany's death by falling off Drogon in mid-flight. That would shock me, but it's 99.99999999% unlikely. Shocking but could happen? Well if I could imagine it in advance, I wouldn't be all that shocked, so I don't really have one for this.
No Song so Sweet
Stannis losing the battle in the north. Jon dying, permanently.Daenerys fighting the Dothraki and dying. Also Aegon is real would shock a lot of people in this forum.Jon is Ned's kid. Littlefinger is not working with Varys, as Varys says worried that he has no idea what littlefinger plans.

Gronzag
'Dany' and Tyrion dying before they reach Westeros. Please George, make it happen!
The Santa of House Claus
I guess Jon turning about to be 100% dead would be the most shocking, but for me, at this point, I doubt I would really find anything shocking. The Red Wedding kind of broke me of that.

JonCon's Red Beard
Also Aegon is real would shock a lot of people in this forum. Jon is Ned's kid. These both. I would like Aegon to be real only for the shocking factor. And because I like the kid.
The Bedding
Arya is actually married to Ramsay by proxy. It's why the seal was used to marry Asha, for precedent.
The King in Black
These both. I would like Aegon to be real only for the shocking factor. And because I like the kid. That makes the two of us. Also this Hodor and old nan/osha are undercover others nonsense is spreading disturbingly fast.
LyrnaSnowBunnyAvenger
'Dany' and Tyrion dying before they reach Westeros. Please George, make it happen! I thought GRRM had stated that Dany was going to get to Westeros for sure. That could be just something I saw in the forums though, exaggerated from some random statement of his (not that does/would ever happen) Dany/Jon in wedded bliss, ruling from the IT over a peaceful 8K (beyond the wall now part of Westeros and the Others either defeated or happy subjects) would surprise/disgust me. I don't think any of it is remotely likely.

dielsis
What would be the Most Shocking plot point that could still plausibly happen?I don't know about "shocking" but a couple of odd things that aren't out of the question: - Davos doesn't find Rickon.- Joffrey was in on the Purple Wedding, with Tyrion having been the target.- Jorah doesn't make it back into Dany's service.- "Hand and a half" is literal: The dagger is Blackfyre. Hence... What would be a plot point that surely cant happen? For me, Varys & Littlefinger have been working together all along. There master plan being to put a Blackfyre on the Throne & marry him to the heir to the North.I've actually suspected this since book one. Actually, it's more of a "forced" working together, as I think it's because LF knows Varys's true background. At first I thought straight Targaryen but revised after ADwD.
