US Politics: Election Day 2014

Cool, more "OBAMACARE IS DOOMED" predictions. We'll just add this to the list of six thousand other ones that haven't come true.

And yes, people aren't going to vote for Democrats in two years if Obama commits troops to help clean up the mess that Republicans created.

I don't have much faith in the American people, but I do have faith in the ability of Republicans to be just plain awful.

That's cute.

I didn't say that Obamacare is doomed just that when people have to start paying the tax/fine that they aren't going to vote Democratic in 2016.

Math will not be your friend in 2016:

(as it wasn't the democrats' this year)

OK sure. I'm pretty sure that in 2006 that the name Obama wasn't on anyone's list to be the President of the United States. The GOP candidate could be someone who isn't on the list you linked.

It's baffling that you needed an explanation on this topic and it further proves you don't have a clue as to what you are discussing. Multiple other posters have jumped in trying to explain but let's take this slow.

1.How does voter id prevent any of the examples of individual fraud you've provided?

2. Why do you think it's a problem given the results of investigations and studies(care to take a guess around how your opinion pieces differ from those?) which prove voter fraud is insignificant?

At least 30,000 people right now since Walmart has already stopped their health care coverage for their part-time workers.

Come back when you actually want to discuss the issue.

That's cute.

Indeed. I want to believe it's a Poe. The other option is a bit too horrifying to entertain.

Actually, with his convention speech in 2004, he was one some lists in 2006...

In any event, I was referring to the Senate math. Unless the GOP come up with a charismatic equivalent of Obama (which I certainly haven't seen), I'd be pretty surprised if they won POTUS in 2016. I'd figured that was a given.

The world hasn't been getting fucked the last six years? Really?

It's been trying to recover from driving off a cliff 6 years ago yes. We've had a US that hasn't invaded Iran though which really fucking helped not make things worse for example. I'm not going to pretend the Democrats are perfect, they are a long way off it from my perspective, but another GOP President? Will scare me. My current PM scares me too, but my country has fuck all influence so it's not as much of a global issue.

Lol. Come back when you actually want to discuss the issue.

Cute. I guess that you don't understand what is going to happen when people have to pay the government more money just because they don't have health insurance. Come late February through April 15th of this year when their income tax return is smaller and they are told that if they don't have heath insurance next year that they will have to pay even more they are going to be pissed and vote against the people who put the law in place.

Just because you are politically active doesn't mean that the average person is. You may or may not be surprised as to how many people out there do not understand what is going to happen to them when tax season comes around in a few months and they are going to be pissed.

Now its starting to look like a wave election. Damn disappointing. And if the GOP gets to 54+ in the Senate, that makes 2016 much more of a contest rather than a shoe-in for Democrats to retake the chamber.

Keep in mind that Democrats might be vulnerable in 2016 in Colorado (Bennet is nothing special and Hillary has surprisingly low fav rating there) and if Nevada governor Sandoval runs against Reid, Reid is a toast.

Reid beat his polling in 2010. It was a midterm, and Hillary coat tails are not the same as Obama. Immigration matters, casino magnates and casino labor matter.

Colorado was Obama's tipping point state. I want to see Latino exit polling before talking about 2016 in Colorado or Nevada. I think Republicans have more votes in Colorado than Hillary can. "Independent" voters broke hard R, but bases didn't shift. How they act in Washington matters.

Hmmm...didn't I read something somewhere about a serious (?) proposal that one of your political parties be crated up and moved to a secure location because they were utterly redundant?

That said...if by some wonder the republicans take the white house in 2016 AND hold onto the house and senate, it will effectively destroy their party. When ignorant, flawed ideology collides head-on with a reality deemed impossible, reality wins. If the GOP were to move forward with their radical agenda, the result in the US would be massive unrest of a sort not seen in a century - a consequence they literally cannot fathom occurring. Plus there are major resource/climate issues taking place that CANNOT happen according to the GOP mentality. Like - how do these climate change deniers act when say, Miami has to be abandoned as a result of rising ocean levels - or Vegas evacuated due to depleted water tables?

As to the Middle East, major war there was inevitable from the time Bush II invaded Iraq.

*sigh*

Suttree, you've been proven wrong man. Accept it.

1. I've explained how id would prevent fraud that I've linked as well as you and your friends hypothetical frauds. If you want to rehash it, feel free to reread the last two us policy threads. I'm exhausted of digging around to find previous posts to prove you wrong twice!

2. When did I say voter fraud was widespread? Oh yeah, I never said that. I cited cases of confirmed voter fraud when you and others(Ace for one) said it did exist. Then your argument changed from it doesn't exist to it's just a small number. You changed your statement because it was proven inaccurate.

So that's settled then...
