Down once more to the dungeon of my black despair...
Down we plunge to the prison of my mind...
Down that path into darkness deep as hell!
Why, you ask,
Was I bound and chained
In this cold and dismal place?
Not for any mortal sin,
But the accursed essay deadlines that I face!

Yes.

What is socialising, again? I forget...

Back in London by the by. I miss the dog already :(

I warned you of the price you would pay for your tyranny.

Oh dear, have you killed Pebs?

I care not for this pace. You all should just post and live with the consequences. At this stage we are more of a poster child for the forums rather than rebels! This is not our cause. This is not what we are! Live! (I am part of this though)

The whole FG seems slow though. It's perhaps a natural slow fase, before the show begins again.

Flood is coming.

If this keeps up I'm going to start shitposting immensely, this thread is even slower than the last one.

Also, it's going so so, regarding the sleep and functioning. I am afloat. Hoping to see 5 hours tonight. *holds thumbs*

I had a fun dinner out today, with a good friend.

When I slept poorly for weeks on end I started taking melatonin, a very innocent medicine that helps you fall asleep faster. Maybe you could look into that?

 Little things like that can make my entire week.

Ab, finished MM last night. Epic stuff! I'll be around to rave about it tomorrow probably.

Assuming MM is Madoka Magica or something?

Man, this has been a weird week. I feel like I'm simultaneously starting to get my shit together and losing my grip on the situation.

Your bi-monthly FOMN whine-a-thon in the spoiler tags, feel free to ignore.

Spoiler

The good news is that graduating doesn't feel like a big and scary event anymore, but that something that could really be good for me and might make me happier. I also managed to have an actual conversation about my homosexuality with the friend I told a while ago (this hadn't been brought up between us since then) and we agreed that I should tell another friend (who is his best friend too), and I'm planning to do so this Sunday. As a result I feel closer to them than I've felt an in ages, and that makes me very glad. I'm also fairly certain that I would be happy studying Journalism (but am also considering taking a gap year). I'm enjoying hockey more than ever and feel more at home in my team than ever before.

The bad news is that my motivation and grades have dropped like never before (though it seems to be going a little better?) and that I have two weeks left to decide on what to study and am still not 100% sure. I also find myself having mood changes out of nowhere, where I feel sad or just like crap for no discernible reason. I feel like there's a lot of stuff I can't or don't want to talk about with my parents and as a result I end up typing it here. Though I'm doing a little better where my friends are concerned I still feel like a third wheel often because of my introverted nature, and hate that 9 out of 10 times I don't get invited or included in their plans. I'm also planning to go on a vacation with three friends, none of whom have any idea that I'm gay and I'm hesitant about spending 10 days with them in an environment where picking up girls will be a very likely subject. And while I'm looking forward to that vacation Im not sure I can even go because I need a driver's license and I'm not able to get enough lessons to get it in time.

/End of rant, thanks for listening

TGIF my lovelies

FoMN :grouphug: I know it is all a bit overwhelming right now, but try to relax a little.  Take stuff in smaller bunches instead of everything at once. (like "stuff that I have to do this week" instead of everything)

Why do you need a drivers license? Would a simple ID card not be ok for traveling?

Ye gods, three new posts in the last 19 hours? I should have you all exiled or something.

Thanks, Lany and Eira.

After promising myself that I would refrain from buying books and DVDs for two months since buying Band of Brothers last month, I just bought the Firefly DVD collection. It was great value and everyone always praises it, so I had to. I've proven once again that I can't be trusted with money. I'm curious how that'll go when I have a job, I can imagine having to sleep on a pile of books because I thought buying those where more important than buying a mattress.

You'll find once you actually are in a situation where budgeting and finance is essential (rather than living with your parents) your spending habits will change and you'll become more money conscious. At least, that is my own experience, and it's how a lot of others I speak to at uni have experienced it

Thanks for the tip about melatonin, FoMN. I haven't tried it yet, but I have prescription meds if I can't get the sleep back on track on my own. I haven't needed them in a long time now though. I will see about getting some melatonin :)

It was great having dinner with my friend. There's a new local restaurant in my neighbourhood so we tried that and liked it alot.

MM is Madoka Magica yes. Now that I have seen all of it I can really recommend it :D

Lany has good advice. I often have to try hard to focus on the short term instead of being overwhelmed by all I need to decide and do on a long term.

Nice to see some faces back on the thread! Bex, KIB, sniffer

Give it a couple of decades, and you'll be sleeping on a pile of books because you don't have room for a mattress as well as all the books 8) We don't have any suitable wall space for more bookcases...

It really helps you fall asleep much faster, I think it would help you :) You just swallow half a pill an hour before you go to bed and once you turn off the lights you're usually under within 8 minutes.

Good, good, more procrastrination fodder.

Wow, you guys are really trying to make me look forward to adult life

I shall have to add it to my list.

This is the main reason you eventually get yourself a job  You'll find that you can indulge yourself a lot more. See, it's not all bad being an adult!

Yes, I agree with this. When you have to, you adapt.

Have you seen (or read) Fate/Zero etc or Aldnoah Zero also? Or any other from Urobuchi you want to recommend?

Does lurking count as crazy? No? Okay :(

Also I have found a highly accurate portrayal of my social skills.

We were talking about being geeky and social skills a little bit back. I have one irl acquaintance (we studied together) here in town who I have much in common with, he's very geeky, we share most interests, and he's intellectual and fun. We communicate on fb occasionally, but never meet up. Two awkward people who don't really make any steps towards hanging out, for 13 years. Well done geeks <_<
