Xray the Enforcer
Agreed that Spain-Portugal was a good match.
Iskaral Pust
OK, the scouting report is in, Spain v Portugal it is. Thanks all. Fox are broadcasting it at 7pm here, to get the prime time audience. I’ve avoided the score and result all day.
Iskaral Pust
Tuesday will need some assistance to make the right selection. Poland vs. Senegal looks like the best bet, but there could be a surprise lurking. Colombia play nice football and Salah could destroy Russia. Are either of the other games a decent watch or is it better to stick with C vs J even if the suspense is ruined?

AndrewJ
Yeah - my choice was to catch up on sleep last night. 9:30pm, 12:30 am and 3:30am kick-offs are rough when you have work the next day.
ants
If people can keep posting, it is really appreciated. The games are mostly overnight Australian time, so on weekdays I can usually only catch up on one match. If we're nominating past matches, apart from the ones mentioned I thought Iceland vs. Argentina was good. Really gripping through to the end to see what would happen, and a few twists along the way. Obviously a few days late now on this!
Iskaral Pust
I turned on the Japan game but the commentator was so annoying I couldn’t watch more than a few minutes. So a night off for me. Looking forward to the Spain or Portugal game tomorrow.
Iskaral Pust
I think I’ll be skipping all of today’s games. The novelty and optimism of the opening games is behind us, so a smaller proportion of second games are worth watching. I have received a spoiler-free assurance that I’m making a decent choice. France vs Peru tomorrow looks like a good bet instead.
Xray the Enforcer
yeah, I didn't see anything in the commentary to suggest I watch any of today's matches. But tomorrow holds promise!
The guy from the Vale
France-Peru was probably the most beautiful game today. But I'd encourage everybody wo watch Argentina-Croatia instead as it was far more exciting, although also physical to the point of senseless brutality. That leaves me on the fence but it gives me the right information to make a choice. Nice to hear the AvC game was exciting. I thought it might have been another dull example of Messi hogging the ball ineffectually while being marked by four players and "aided" by a deeply lackluster entourage. We're not getting a lot of recs here. Perhaps I'm one of only a few choosy omnivores; a floating voter in the mainly partisan WC.

It’s a bit hard to take a definitive position on whether to recommend watching them or not. Anyway, I’m a bit behind so I’ve only seen the first game but Brazil-Costa Rica was a pretty good game. I’d watch it.
Whiskeyjack
Definitely watch Serbia - Switzerland.
ljkeane
Yeah, Serbia Switzerland was a good game. I’d still watch Brazil Costa Rica too or at least the highlights.
Maithanet
Nigeria-Iceland was also a pretty good game stylistically, lots of back and forth, not too much puttering around in the middle third.
AndrewJ
I didn’t see the earlier two games, but it’s going to be hard to go passed the Germany v Sweden game today.
Maltaran
It's definitely better than Mexico-Korea - I missed the Belgium-Tunisia game so I can't comment on that.
