The final straw

Recommended Posts

So I was talking GoT with a co-worker at lunch today, and an idea popped into my head.

What if Dany, Jon and Co. defeat Cersei's army, and storm KL. Cersei is taken prisoner, alive. By this stage her pregnancy is obvious. Dany demands 'off with her head' or her fave go-to 'Dracarys' and this is the final straw that turns Jon against Dany. (He can't tolerate her executing a defeated, defenseless pregnant woman). Jon will end up killing Dany.

Thoughts?

By then Jaime & Euron will be dead, Cercei will go hide in a tower, Dany will send Jon to end it, they will fight 3 against 1 in front of that tower; hound will die quickly and at the last minute Arya will make her trademark maneuver and stab the mountain in the neck, after that Jon will go up and take Jaime's baby as Cercei bleeds to death and raise him as his bastard, hiding it from Dany in plain sight for years. True story.

By that logic they should wait for her pregnancy to be over to begin the war.

I don't think Jon and Dany should ever find themselves in that position, it would be such a daft way to make Jon turn on Dany.

Cersei gives birth to a dragon which strangles her to death.

I don't think Cersei is preggers. either she is lying or it is cancer of the uterus like bloody Mary had.

Drogon might be pregnant though. Or whatever being with egg is called.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for her to suddenly and randomly give birth to a lion?

Ooooh you haven’t read the books have you

But it was not Cersei. She was all in grey, a silent sister. A hood and veil concealed her features, but he could see the candles burning in the green pools of her eyes. “Sister,” he said, “what would you have of me?” His last word echoed up and down the sept, mememememememememememe. “I am not your sister, Jaime.” She raised a pale soft hand and pushed her hood back. “Have you forgotten me?” Can I forget someone I never knew? The words caught in his throat. He did know her, but it had been so long … “Will you forget your own lord father too? I wonder if you ever knew him, truly.” Her eyes were green, her hair spun gold. He could not tell how old she was. Fifteen, he thought, or fifty. She climbed the steps to stand above the bier. “He could never abide being laughed at. That was the thing he hated most.” “Who are you?” He had to hear her say it. “The question is, who are you?” “This is a dream.” “Is it?” She smiled sadly. “Count your hands, child.” One. One hand, clasped tight around the sword hilt. Only one. “In my dreams I always have two hands.” He raised his right arm and stared uncomprehending at the ugliness of his stump. “We all dream of things we cannot have. Tywin dreamed that his son would be a great knight, that his daughter would be a queen. He dreamed they would be so strong and brave and beautiful that no one would ever laugh at them.” “I am a knight,” he told her, “and Cersei is a queen.” A tear rolled down her cheek. The woman raised her hood again and turned her back on him. Jaime called after her, but already she was moving away, her skirt whispering lullabies as it brushed across the floor. Don’t leave me, he wanted to call, but of course she’d left them long ago.

It would be worth it just to see the tears of all the folk complaining about the show.

D&D are crying alllll the way to the bank.

If this happens, then Jon's a bigger idiot than even I thought. Of all the terrible things Daenerys could do to turn him against her, killing Cersei has to be pretty low on that list, especially if she's carrying another unborn threat to the throne.

Though the pro-lifers would love it.

Lol, this is the stuff I love and why I suffer so much waiting on GRRM to finish. Gods, I hope he finishes.
