ljkeane
Great result considering there was half the under 21s on the pitch in extra time.

Rorshach
Weird that Chelsea didn't keep up the pace from the end of the match, considering the youthfulness of the Liverpool team. But Liverpool trust their system and manager, while Chelsea don't really trust anything much, and that does mean something.

In fairness there's been a lot of talk about Chelsea having a far stronger bench than Liverpool but the one area they didn't really have anyone to come on for was midfield, because they spent all their money on Caicedo and Lavia and Lavia's not fit, that's probably key when they're trying to keep the pace of the game up. polishgenius
I didn't watch this game (and I'm glad) but over on twitter I'm seeing Chelsea fans, for maybe the first time, start to get pissed off with Enzo Fernandez.
Iskaral Pust
Incredible grit from Liverpool to win that in ET after having a midweek game and only half a squad. But that’s another long term injury to a MF player. Gravenberch is on crutches already. Edit: Endo on crutches too after the match. Wilbur
Liverpool played like a team, while Chelsea continued with the theme of seemingly not having much familiarity with each other out on the pitch. The Chelsea players individually looked stronger and more skilled, as demonstrated by the ease with which they would dispossess the youngsters in the second half and extra time. But then on breakaways, I think they failed to make the obvious switch of the field three of four times. At least one of those, had they distributed the ball correctly, should have been a goal. Also, does Chillwell always chirp at the opposition players all game long like that? Very unattractive behavior, although in today's officiating environment, he can probably do so without any retribution. It was interesting how, no matter how inexperienced and young the players were that Liverpool fed into the game, they fit into the overall team effort. No one was hiding or carried as a passenger, which is a tribute to the preparation at the Liverpool Academy.
ljkeane
I've been thinking this season regarding how well all the youngsters coming in have done they all look like they know what they're supposed to do. It obviously helps Klopp is willing to give them a chance, and not all managers would by any means, but all these players will have spent pretty much their entire youth development in a system designed to produce players for a Klopp team. It's one real advantage that comes with continuity. It's a shame Klopp's leaving as it all seems to be clicking.
Darryk
Liverpool wins despite injuries and being screwed over by VAR (Caisedo tackle should have been a red and the goal should've stood). Poch continues his grand tradition of choking in finals.
polishgenius
I dunno Mauricio, if I was gonna try 'we can't win anything with kids' as a defence I wouldn't do it against one of the class of '92.
