That should be rectified. Perhaps I can draw your attention to the possibilities in post #373...

*gathers paperwork*

Ok, so as not to be accused of completely jacking the thread...I'm not sure if I can commit to any New Year's thing. Although Napa sounds pretty cool...

I guess for the next meet I'm leaning towards the hotel idea...but what exactly does it entail? A bunch of people partying/crashing in a suite? I could help organize. I'd also be down with that if we could then do something cool the next day...brunch and ferry ride, perhaps?

We could decorate a bit if we wanted to (only going off Worldcon) and reorganize the room. Get the frickin TV covered up. Move couches and lights around. Have an ipod station and some chill music playing. Everybody brings something to drink and shares. Just a relaxed evening up in a hotel suite. No one has to stay for the night but I suppose since we have the suite, some people might as well do so.

I think that sounds real cool. We would all be able to hear one another. The gathering at Toronado felt sort of like a cocktail party where you migrate from one cluster of three or four people to another, due to the way the small tables broke the group apart. It's hard to find a public venue that has room for a dozen people to sit close enough to actually talk with each other.

And I have no plans for New Year's.

So, yes we will be in California over the holidays, but scheduling is going to be a pain. My handlers (aka "parental units") have some family shit planned, and then some other shit, and then Bazz has the got-damned temerity to be out of town.

Anyway, Bazz is my huckleberry. If anything works out, he'll be the first to know about it. Otherwise, I'll find some other way to fly out for a weekend in the spring and act like a drunken ASS for all to see and photograph.

I've always thought of myself more as a blueberry. But I'm thinking all of the above: we make something work while you are here, and you come out in the spring and act like a drunken ASS. Then I'll descend on Manhattan in the summer and revive your sad, defunct third-page local.

Viktor and Goryl finally meet!

So I dragged the X's down from Sacramento for lunch today in my smelly hippy neighborhood of SF. Subjects of conversation ranged from the board to the Bazzlebaby (briefly) and back to the board. Unfortunately, Lady Bazz had to suffer through a bit too much board chatter, and actually volunteered herself to escort the inevitably upset Bazzlebaby outside. We later caught up with her near the playground.

Rumors and gossip shared in person will not be spread online. Suffice it to say I got the dirt on all you con-goers, and they got the dirt on the Norcal BwB. Entirely positive, of course -- after all, we want to lure them out for one of our drink-ups someday. ;)

After lunch (and a couple rounds of pints), we headed back to the Bazzleflat for absinthe sampling before they had to take their leer jet back to Sackamenna.

Mr X., Bazz, Xray.
