Valmy
I only caught the last five minutes of the 3rd period :P But that Tampa attack was riding high there, not surprised it took a heroic goalie effort.
Matrim Fox Cauthon
Although I am saddened about losing a SE rival from a SE city I despise, I'm glad for Winnipeg. If the decks are reshuffled, I suppose that Carolina vs. Nashville works just as well. I definitely see Atlanta trying to grab a franchise though; it's too big a Southern city (and market) to 'not' have one.
Valmy
I am a Caps fan but I always have had a soft spot for the Canadian teams and their fans. They just are so passionate and into it, they make the NHL fun.Even when the Montreal fans are destroying their own city. ;)
Habber
So...Winnipeg.Jets or Falcons?I think we're going to see a yellow/black Falcon team. Just a hunch
Myiagros
Better be the Jets, would probably cost the team/league less as well considering the amount of merch already out there. The team would make lots on a new team name, but would probably have a loss on trademarking a new name and whatever goes into getting the name. Demonblade
While I believe that ultimately the team will be given a different name, I really wish for the team to be renamed the Jets. Naming them anything else would just make the "Bring Back the Jets!!" campaign seem silly, and it is because of all of the diehard Jets fans that we are where we are. Plus, think of all of the merchandising that'll be lost once they name the team something else. I would really be pissed if they named the team the "Manitoba ______". That would just be so lame, imo. The Winnipeg Jets are a brand recognizable throughout the country and in parts of the States. The Manitoba Moose, Falcons, Cougars, Flood, etc. would not have the same recognition. It makes no sense for me to change the name to anything other than the Jets. I would rather they not change the name of the team at all if they don't rename them the Jets, actually. Just change the team colours to red, white and blue, as a means of extending an olive branch to the fans who started this whole thing in the first place. Myiagros
Just saw a good point in a thread elsewhere. The Coyotes own the Jets name, True North would have to work something out with them to purchase the name from them.

Demonblade
The NHL owns the rights to the Jets brand and logo, independent of their ownership of the Coyotes. If True North wants the Jets name, they need but ask and I doubt anybody would say no.
Myiagros
Ah, I figured that the name would be with the team since Phoenix bought the team when they were named the Jets. NHL does own the team though so problem solved.
Lord O' Bones
Yep. Marleau is awake. Be woeful, Vancouver. He goes cold for long stretches, but he also gets hot for long stretches.Maybe without Eager torpedoing the team this can translate into a series saving win.Love the choice of McGinn as Eager's replacement. Young, fresh legs, can bang, and won't likely be a total dipshit.More Shark blood on the ice; and a call this time. I'm not one to complain about that sort of thing, but it's good that it was called so hopefully the Sharks can take advantage/hopefully it can ultimately be a non-story. (I mean really; the Sharks deserved to lose game 2, 6 minutes of uncalled high sticking penalties aside.)GOAL!!!FFS I'm afraid to click "add reply" now. Things just get better the slower I type.OK. Thornton missed a wide-open net and the penalty expires.[clicks on add reply]ETA: Marleau!!!Is it too soon to quote Admiral Yamamoto?

Lord O' Bones
Also, (I know it's been explained by internet lunch-bucket fans) but still not buying the Vancouver fans are loud hypothesis. Seems like Tampa was louder even getting beat. Possibly because there were 5,000 Boston fans in attendance? Dunno. But thus far, the Tank is louder. Lord O' Bones
They tend to be pretty loud during the riot after an importnat lose or win.Well, yeah. Which is why all things being equal, I'll root against Boston every chance I get unless it's against Philly or Montreal. But I'm always hoping for a reason not to feel this way.ETA: I'm assuming you mean Boston fans. If Vancouver or Tampa, please explain. But I mean, really. You have to mean Boston.Edit2: The Sharks kill another penalty. zzzzzzzzzzEdit3: Well this should be good. 5 on 3. And a TO
Lord O' Bones
I know one of two things: the Sharks are taking this series and/or this thread has become lame once the Atlanta fan disappeared. The Atlanta fan!ETA: I hope TheHoundRules is doing well, and I'm off to youtube for some conversation about hockey. Later.

Only thread it didn't help.ETA: I mean as far as the flow, not the volume.OK, I don't take anything back about McGinn. That was an unfortunate boarding. And I hope Rome is ok. kairparavel
It should never have come down to a major penalty for Vancouver to perhaps get their shite together. On the other hand, there hasn't been an even strength goal.
