Westeros
And the casting news keeps coming: Winter is Coming gets the scoop on Jaqen H’Ghar, the mysterious Lorathi prisoner that’s among Yoren’s recruits for the Night’s Watch. He was (sort of) glimpsed last season, as a shrouded and hooded figure sitting silently in a cage.According to WiC, Jaqen will be played by German actor Tom Wlaschiha, who’s made a number of appearances in German film and television, and has since branched out into international productions, including films such as Valkyrie (with the show’s Melisandre, Carice van Houten!) and Munich. He’s had a brush with fantasy in German film Krabat, as well, so this won’t be entirely new to him. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes.See below for a short film featuring Wlaschiha, and a link to a long showreel showcasing some of his work in series such as The Deep (with Minnie Driver) and Brideshead Revisted.read on >>>Visit the Site! Corvinus85
They picked somebody who will not have a British-accent. A man is glad.Edited for humor purposes.
you wouldn't know me
I hope they keep his hair :) and I wonder if they'll get a different actor for his last scene with Arya?
Francis Buck
Definitely like the look. I'm curious how they'll do his hair...
Abaddon
I had no idea how his hair was supposed to be in the book. Completely missed it. I must say it sounds really silly to me, when I try to visualize it. Hopefully they go with a more conventional look, he already looks great for the part without throwing some weird absurd hair on.Anyway; great casting! Love his look, and I can't wait for the Arya&Jaqen at Harrenhal scenes...
Arya The Assassin
I've seen both Valkyrie and Munich, and -- although he didn't have any prominent roles there -- I do like his looks (resembles some of the artwork I've seen). English isn't his first language, but that shouldn't be a problem, because his character is supposed to be from Braavos.
Swordswench
He seems like he'll play H'Ghar going about his business with darkly gleeful relish. Very nice.
HouseLark
He looks the part. Those uneven eyes look a bit sinister.

Gurney Halleck
Interested in how makeup could be used, as well as the actor's ability to turn a phrase.Surprised they didn't change his name to Mr Smith, you know, seeing as name changes are fashionable in the production right now... Ariadne Snow
I really like this casting, very similar to how I imagined the character looking. I don't mind if they change the hair from how it is in the books - it will probably look weird on screen.
wolfeyes
I think he makes a better Ramsey snow.
Swordswench
I think he makes a better Ramsey snow.Too sexy. :leer: Please, no sexy/handsome Ramsay! Please. It would just be too... I dunno... too obvious to cast that role against type and go with a good looking actor.

Joe Reed
Guy looks promising. I gotta watch Munich again to find whatever scene(s) he's in. Anyone know?Jaqen Fucking H'Ghar is so great. During the final episode and friend and I just yelled out "JAQEN" when we saw him in the cage. We only saw a guy masked by a hood and it was still awesome somehow. Some Faceless Man trick. boojam
They picked somebody who will not have a British-accent. A man is glad.Edited for humor purposes. So everyone on Braavos speaks with a German accent?A man is amused.
Rider of Zorses
Wow, this looks like it could be great. Except I always pictured Jaqen a tiny bit older, but in his case...The one thing that worries me is, in that scene where you could see Jaqen under his hood, Arya saw this other man looking at her from inside the cage, and he was handsome and calm. I figured that was Jaqen, but now... is that seriously Rorge? Wasn't Rorge supposed to be bulky and hairy and noseless? I mean, I understand people on TV generally need to be more attractive than people in books for commercial reasons, but were there really so many unattractive characters that they had to make Rorge young and hunky? Padraig
Arya saw this other man looking at her from inside the cage, and he was handsome and calm. I figured that was Jaqen, Sorry, if that was Jaqen, who did you think was the guy in the hood?To be honest, I can't recall the other two, except that one had weird teeth.
