Imagine casting a 12 year old girl to be Dany , we would have people going on about how game of thrones fans like child porn and what not , so I'm happy they stayed with that age group .... And remember it was Emilia or Tamzin Bog'n Merchent ... You take a pick ..

I like the actress who plays Melisandre as well and don't understand how people think she's a bad actress. What I love (and it is partly the writing of course), is how she plays the very mysterious and cryptic witch from the East, but shows sign of normality underneath it all in some scents (in the scene with Davos in the boat her reaction when Davos tells her that somebody once told him that the night is dark and full of terror - her initial fear in her last scene with Stannis last Season - her seeming frustration with Stannis when she's leaving Dragonstone in Episode 3). I hope they use the expansion of Stannis's storyline this season and her finding the brotherhood to expand her character a bit to show some of the human side we saw in Dance with Dragons. I'm hoping that she'll be more unguarded when she's with a fellow red priest.

I feel like there's nothing mysterious about her.

Dont like Stannis or Shea either.

Aidan Gillen obviously spent too long with Christian Bale while shooting TDKR. I remember first hearing him in S2 during that godawful 'power' scene with Cersei, thinking he must have come down with a sore throat or something. But as the season went on, it became painfully obvious this a deliberate decision on his part. He was hammy in S1 but now he's got the Batman voice he's just plain goofy, and I just can't take him seriously in any scene. Of course, shoddy writing isn't helping matters either. Trying to believe Baelish is one of Westeros's greatest masterminds is kinda negated by the fact he telegraphs all of his plans to anybody who'll listen.

@Jon Mark Selmy - I have read your posts with a great interest , because I would like to have an additional light on the matter.

I'm a total amateur on this subject, so I would like to know at least some basic things about acting technique. For example, I thought that Lena Headey is very good, but not as good as Michelle Fairley. I didn't know who Michelle Fairley is, before the show, but now, she looks like one of the best actress that I ever saw.

So, what does Lena Headey do better than Michelle? I guess, some little things, that an ordinary viewer wouldn't spot, but someone from the acting craft will.

Also, I'm not very keen with Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke. Emilia (although beautiful) looks somehow stiff to me; I don't know what to say about Kit's acting - maybe he's good, but doesn't look very good to me. Maybe he just lacks charisma.

To be honest, I don't have "the worst" list, I just wanted to ask @Jon Mark Selmy about additional information. Cheers to all!

Apologize for possible mistakes, I'm not a native speaker.

I'm of the firm opinion that Emilia is pretty good while Kit is absolutely awful.

I've probably already commented on this thread but the new season, so far, has only cemented this opinion.

Yes. In the beginning I thought it was simply me not caring for his character that much. But then I rewatched it with a friend who likes his character and neither did I found his performance better this time nor did my friend enjoy this Jon version very much.

I actually enjoy most of the cast. Both Michelle and Oona are good even if the writers butchered their characters. I am slight underwhelmed by the Davos/Stannis/ Mel trio but probably because my expectations were too high and the writing too bad. The actors are fine imho

Spot on. LF is hard to watch on the show.

For me, Richard Madden.

I hate to say it, cos he's a likeable guy and all, and in first series I really rated him, but.... as king he is just a bit one-dimensional. He screwfaces and puts on a rugged voice when he wants to sound menacing and just looks a bit gormless the rest of the time.

Of the main characters, he's the one I frequently notice as being a bit inexperienced.

This.

I guess I really didnt notice it too much until this season really but so it seems like he gets worse and worse with every scene with that fake over obnoxious voice.

Seriously, never understood all the hate Emilia got.

In some of her scenes, it really send shivers down my spines, especially when she has this calm, sad tone in her voice, usually just before somebody is about to die:

When she told Viserys that he'll get his golden crown.

When she told Mirri that she only wants her life.

When she thanks Xaro, just before she locks him into his vault...

There was also this monologue in front of Quarth, when they wanted to turn her away. I thought it was rather nice.

Couldn't really name many actors I disliked... The only one I can think of at the moment is the actress who plays Shae... especially together with Tyrion... with all this "I'm Shae, the funny whore..."-stuff...
