  1. Playing Sekiro right now. I bounced of the game mechanics when I tried it first after buying it on a sale but after playing hundreds of hours of Elden Ring I tried it again and now I'm enjoying it a lot now even if I'm objectively bad at it. I think there are bosses in this game I died against more often than I died against all Elden Ring bosses combined at this point...
  2. It is also possible that Prigozhin had reasons to believe that Putin had enough loyal forces near Moscow. Also Putin never fled officially afaik. It is just as likely that he stayed and managed to get shit ready for the worst case while taking care of people who supported Prigozhin. As far as conspiracy theories go I guess the one that claims that they got to his family is the most rational one.
  3. I'm a fan of The Rock when he plays a funny guy in a jungle. I will watch a movie that has that premise without even watching the trailer. I never even considered watching a superhero movie starring him. I wonder if I'm the only one who feels that way.
  4. Yeah going for a 3080 does not look like a good option at all. I'm happy with mine but I got it before prices really exploded(still above the MSRP though) and sold my 1080 Ti a while later for nearly the same price. Buying one now does not seem like the best option. Here in Austria they sell the 4070 Ti at the same price as a normal RTX 3080 anyway.
  5. That's why people are so annoyed about the API thing I guess. I only use it on the PC and I find the UI works well enough. A lot of people prefer the old reddit UI which is still available as an option. Obviously a similar site would work just as well be the transition phase would do suck until enough people that are interested in the same things moved to that site. I'm over 30. Change is bad. Edit: on the being old part I never really got into video based game social media and the part of reddit I use feels like the last somewhat active holdout. Even the official forums of games and steam discussion pages are usually pretty dead. On reddit you get responses in minutes for the stuff I'm interested in.
  6. A year or two ago I saw a documentary about uterus transplantation which was first used in countries in which surrogacy is illegal. Far more complex than heart transplantation according to it and only temporary(because of the immune system suppressing drugs) and only suitable for C-section. The risks are far higher than surrogacy but it is a risk people are willing to take. In the documentary the donors were sisters or mothers of the recipients. All of them would have preferred surrogacy. While I understand that reasons for being against surrogacy for money especially if it involves traveling to other countries forbidding it for family and friends seems to do more harm than good. Someone people would still prefer uterus transplantation I guess but the less risky option should be available.
  7. It is great for niche things, cute animals and memes. It is my go to place for discussing old games when I play one. I have yet to find a game without a somewhat active subreddit while forums dedicated to those games usually died years if not decades ago. The Austrian subreddit also seems to be the only active community that has not been completely overrun by the far right and conspiracy folks. Was a useful source of information during the pandemic(a guy active there made a site to find open vaccination slots). Right now someone made a site that actually shows real food price increases in stores. Shockingly interesting and it does not even account for shrinkflation. Does not help that other active communities are either on facebook or on news websites.
  8. Took a while but I had to pick a household now. I cancelled Netflix as planned because I can get multiple other services for the same price as I have no interest at all in the basic resolution plan. I might return if they ever offer a reasonably priced 4k plan but new content has been declining in quality anyway.
  9. You mean if you ignore feedstock production and only focus on ruminant methane? I guess the food we feed to animals just appears out of nowhere and requires neither land, fertilizers nor transportation. The last time I looked we used 80% of the planets farmland that way. Animal agriculture is incredible inefficient outside of ruminants that only graze an land that has not recently been acquired by destroying natural forests(burn jungle burn) which is a only very small part of global animal agriculture.
  10. That is definitely true. Especially with the difficulty enhancing mod I use. I tend to only reload when charname dies and I often lose a mage or two to permadeath during BG1. Makes you appreciative some of the less used NPCs more. I replay the games like once per year and but do not often reach the end of SoA nowadays because I get bored of the playthrough. BG1 after level 5 and SoA before level 20 is like the sweet spot for me I guess. I have not played ToB in years I think.
  11. Too true. Mages and mage multi/dual classes are by far the most powerful option in BG2 although they are already pretty solid at the level cap of BG1. Although consumables are probably the most crazy thing in BG2. You can get a helmet that can cast Simulacrum. Simulacrum clones can use consumables which does not use the original items. Just use Protection from Magic scrolls against all powerful spellcasters... I never realised how strong some potions and wands are until I started using difficulty increasing mods and weak classes like bards.
  12. Khalid was actually a pretty decent NPC in classic BG1 but also in the Enhanced Edition I tend to prefer nowadays. A plain fighter is pretty good at the low levels of BG1 especially if you boost his strength.
  13. Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition is currently free with prime. If you have never played or want to replay it with some quality of life upgrades.
  14. Sounds like it I had not problems at all understanding his lines. But modern movies really tend to suffer if the sound settings are not optimal.
  15. I enjoyed GotG3 a lot. Probably the MCU movie I enjoyed the most since Multiverse of Madness which I really liked unlike many other people.
  16. I only see his posts when someone quotes him but sound like he is concerned about climate change and insufficient indoor ventilation.
  17. There are exceptions for scarfs when the weather is cold but the police has accosted people wearing them before. It's up to the police to decide if it is cold enough.
  18. I wonder how well this thread title will age. What ever happens the parasitic finance industry will recover and the rich will get richer and the poor poorer.
  19. Wearing a respirator is currently de jure illegal in Austria outside of medical settings and caretaking facilities unless you have doctors note. It's because we have a law that forbids masking in public(from 2017 when we had a right/far right coalition government). The spirit of the law was to prosecute Muslims wearing veils obviously. To prevent legal challenges it is a broad law and with mask mandates gone it has actually been de jure illegal again in most places for a while now. Just made news because police tried to enforce it against a 87 year old woman wearing one. The health care minister said that masking is not illegal but until they actually change the law that is not really true. It is a law that our far right police force likes I guess. No surprise there as they more or less supported people protesting against COVID mandate. Strangely enough they forgot their new approach to de-escalate at all costs when the climate protests started up again but remembered it again when people with Russian flags started to protest for peace. However all people who have filed a complaint against being fined because of the law since 2017 have succeeded afaik because everyone involved expects that our constitutional court would declare the law invalid if a case ever got that far. Lol.
  20. Hey don't forget Austria has intelligence agencies too! Foreign agencies only share information with us if they want Russia to know I believe.
  21. I actually remember noticing that back when Dune came out but I just assumed it was part of the character design. Maybe some side effect of the steroids and hormones he has probably taken for most of his adult life. He is 54 and was a wrestler. Nothing about his physique is natural.
  22. We are currently experiencing an XBB.1.5 wave. Numbers are actually exceeding xmas/new year's wave numbers right now. The intervals between waves seem to get shorter here.
