Boxus
In my fridge right now is some Anderson Valley Summer Solstice and Dogfishhead Indian Brown Ale. The Solstice is one of my favorite summer brews, silky smooth with a good flavor balance and limitless drinkability. The IBA is a little stale, but still a great beer. Its sweetness is well balanced by the hops and toasted malt. Had it on tap recently and it was amazing - it's certainly better fresh. Also just polished off a Kona variety pack and decided that I am a big fan of their Big Wave golden ale. Ser Scot A Ellison
I just had a Brooklyn Brown Ale. Wonderful. I had their East India Pale Ale earlier this week, also quite good. Unusually well balanced for an IPA.
The Notorious
Enjoying a cold sapporo right now. With regard to the subject of beer flavor does anyone think that beer review is such random nonsensical bullshit? I mean what the fuck is a "stout" or "earthy and organic" taste? Lol

With regard to the subject of beer flavor does anyone think that beer review is such random nonsensical bullshit? I mean what the fuck is a "stout" or "earthy and organic" taste? LolA stout is a dark beer brewed with roasted malts. It's an entire category of beers, not just a meaningless buzzword. The flavor of a stout is extremely different from that of a lager or an IPA. It's definitely worth distinguishing between styles. As for beer reviews, they can get pretentious and long-winded for sure, but I figure if you really enjoy something you'll enjoy writing and reading about it. Mr. X
Love the thread title. On this quiet evening at home after a shitty day at work, I'm drinking a Spencer Trappist Ale, which is the first Trappist beer to be brewed in the USA. It's quite pleasant if you're into the typical Belgian style blonde ales -- a bit heavy on the banana and clove esters for my tastes, but easy to sip casually while relaxing and watching my cat sleep in progressively more ridiculous poses. Nas!
A friend and I started a beer blog many years back until I ran out of ways to describe beer and started writing about childhood memories of smelling rotting plums in my back yard. The Old Tongue
Batch 138 IPA from Knee Deep Brewing. About to get into a Golden Road Heal the Bay IPA, and might end the night with Port Board Meeting Brown Ale if my lupulin threshold drops back down. Ser Scot A Ellison
Lev,Spread your wings there are tons of great craft beers being brewed on the West Coast. Indulge. Sapporo is a really average beer.
The Notorious
Scot you are so wrong on this ..... sapporo has a very natural yet crispy smooth aftertaste which elevated its hoppy flavor. I don't always drink beer but when I do I prefer Sapporo. Stay thirsty my friend.

With regard to the subject of beer flavor does anyone think that beer review is such random nonsensical bullshit? I mean what the fuck is a "stout" or "earthy and organic" taste? Lol The public and other beer enthusiasts will taste the beer and analyze it until it has been properly categorized into it's proper compartment. All mislabeled beers will go into a perpetual "time-out" corner where they are only used to stop teething infants from crying lest some properly trained beer enthusiast have his palate offended by a mislabeled "Amber". The wold would be at the mercy of apple-pie martini drinkers if such a thing were allowed to happen. Imagine.
Martini Sigil
I put Ayinger Brau Weisse on my cornflakes.... if I had to pick a fav, that's probably it.... Solmyr
Pfft, Americans and their incomprehensible beer names. Lately I've been consuming Staropramen, Stella Artois and Kozel.

Solmyr
I don't like Stella. It's one of the very few Belgian brews I don't like. I've heard many people complain about Stella, due to its mild taste - seems to be too mild for some. I like it because it was one of the few beers I liked as a kid, because it was less bitter - drinking it reminds me of my youth :).
